  1. Absolute fucking state of ICW thinking that installing their own Talent Welfare Officers and Mental Health Officers is a solution to this. What a mess. Hey vulnerable young trainee, why dont you go and tell WRESTLER X how damaged and vulnerable you are. Honestly he isn't a total sex case!

I'm a firm believer that if there are numerous very similar accusations against someone, its pretty likely that there is at least an element of truth to the story.

Not going to name any names here but I will just say this much. I know 3 girls who also know one of the more high profile UK guys implicated in all this. I can tell you 100% truthfully having seen the screenshots with my own eyes that all 3 have been subjected to relentless creepy, inappropriate DM's from the absolute sex pest.

  2. If you were anything like me you were probably on the fence about Death Stranding. I wasnt about to drop the full ÂŁ50 on something thats been so polarising.

Its ÂŁ21.99 in Argos right now so I picked it up and enjoying it so far.

Similar bargain - Sekiro is ÂŁ20 (at least it is in my local ASDA)

I had no idea Boss Man faced Kobashi, that sounds great!

They had a singles match as well as a tag where it was Kobashi and Misawa vs Stan Hansen and Boss Man. Ludicrous stuff.

I remember seeing it on the Komplete Kobashi DVD set in about 2004 and being beyond baffled.

  4. I've been binging on 90s AJPW during lockdown as its pure comfort food for me. A few bizarre appearances worth noting such as:

Suspenders and enormous chest era Tommy Dreamer vs Akira Taue. A baffling match I previously thought would only occur in Fire Pro (specifically Fire Pro being played by a deranged perv.)

Big Boss Man. Obviously an absolutely tremendous big man worker in the late 80s/early 90s but you just dont expect to see a big fat guy dressed up as a rozzer taking huge bumps for Kobashi.

Has GAME been in touch with anyone re: physical preorders yet?

I got an email from them yesterday morning saying my Resi 3 PS4 pre-order has been dispatched.  Hopefully means I get it a day early.

Currently really worried right now, I work in a call centre type role with lots of admin associated with it. I’ve never been one to follow processes as such and I know some of this is my fault but I need to know my options. So when we make calls we are judged on certain things by the QA department, have to say certain bits word for word, ask the right stuff, you know the score. In May i received email feedback from QA advising that my call scores were not good and I had failed on some mandatories and that “I would be referred to my Team Leader and call coaches for extra support. Fair enough. Then radio silence. No feedback for ages, no input from team leaders or anything. In early August I randomly got a message advising QA we’re going to sit with me. They sat with my for 1 hour. During that time I made several calls but no one answered and did admin work. They only observed.

    No feedback again, nothing happened.

First thing is that you need to remember that QA are only doing their jobs. Any oversight they complete on your work will likely be based on some sort of framework. If something on a call is considered by the business to be mandatory, it simply needs to be covered. There is no getting around that. If the QA guys didn't flag that up them they wouldn't be doing their job.

Usually things like scripting are mandatory for a reason - often to protect the business you are working for in the event of an audit, complaints etc. Especially in heavily regulated environments such as Financial Services.

QA and your manager should have a clear record of what work of yours has been checked, what feedback was provided and what the agreed actions are going forward. This should form part of your Training and Competence scheme if things are being managed properly.

I would suggest taking the feedback on board. Not being one to follow the process is never really going to fly. If the feedback, coaching etc has been poor or nonexistant than flag that up to your manager and they should discuss with QA.

  7. Surprised they spaffed their load with Mario World, Link to the Past and Super Metroid in one go.

Demons Crest is the one that stands out to me so far. Really awesome game that's lesser known and quite dear to track down an original copy.

I have a shameful backlog of PS4 and Switch games that I haven't even opened yet but I bet I end up playing Super Metroid again ffs.

  8. 1. A miracle drug that restores Kenta Kobashi's knee's to mint condition. Kobashi can then make a return as a freelancer and work huge matches around the world in a glorious victory lap.

    2. The total destruction of BRITWRES~! fan tropes such as:

    • "One Fall!"
    • Constant chants to the tune of Seven Nation Army
    • The word GRAPS

    3. The wrestling business version of #MeToo

  9. There are quite simply too many games to keep up with now unless you're a twitch streamer.

I've only had an hour with Astral Chain. There is no way in hell I am finishing it before Links Awakening. Gonna have some difficult choices to make.

How has nobody mentioned Ricky Steamboat in 2009?

    A great shout,

It was brief but what a comeback run that was. If I'm not mistaken he did Mania, the tag match on RAW, backlash against Jericho and maybe a handful of house shows right?

  11. The posts about 2002 Hogan and current day Jericho in the AEW thread has got me thinking, which wrestlers aged the best?

    I would go with:

Shawn Michaels - He was already considered an all time great in ring worker at the point of his first retirement. I think his Post 2002 comeback run was somehow even better once he got back into the groove. Have a think back over just how many great TV and PPV matches he had in the 2000s with a wide variety of opponents. HHH, Undertaker, Benoit, Jericho, Orton, Cena, Flair, Benjamin, Edge, Christian,

You could definitely argue that his 'Mania 25 and 26 bouts were 2 of the best of his entire career.

Kenta Kobashi - He wasn't actually that old during his second 'prime' (late 30s) but he was totally written off multiple times before the legendary March 2003 GHC title win over Misawa. In fact, in this weeks retro observer from August 2002 - Dave mentions that Kobashi has probably had his last great singles match. Could not have been more wrong in retrospect. The major matches over the next couple of years with Akiayama, Sasaki, Takayama, Nagata etc. could comfortably stand shoulder to shoulder with his 90s AJPW run.

Cant mention Kobashi's later years without talking about his comeback from cancer or his retirement match. Two of the most emotional scenes I have ever seen in wrestling.

Others worth mentioning - Tanahashi, Terry Funk, Tenryu, Ric Flair (to a point), early 2000s Keiji Muto...

  12. I think both Hogan and Jericho were hit and miss in their later years to be fair.

Hogan had the 'Mania X8 match wit the Rock, various good matches with Brock, Angle and Jericho and was effective in tags. He also had the outrageously entertaining matches with Vince and HBK.

The rematch with Rock wasn't near as good. The matches with HHH and Taker were really, really bad.

Jericho had the great Tokyo Dome match with Omega and the Naito feud (including a good match with EVIL). Personally, I felt his Okada match was among Okada's weakest major singles bouts ever. I also didn't think the AEW rematch with Omega was very good.

I think the difference is that Hogan could more or less work the same style he worked in his Prime with very few adjustments. Jericho obviously isn't going to be able to do that given he worked a way more athletic style when he was younger. Whenever Jericho tries to work a more high spot oriented, fast paced style now...it looks baaaaaaad.

  13. Just saw a pic of what Ken Shamrock looks like right now.

He is genuinely more jacked and shredded than at any point in his career. He had a hugely underrated physique in his prime but he's insanely cut and vascular for a man in his mid 50s.

Hopefully he comes and takes the belt off Seth.
