  2. Has Waites jumped to the PDC along with Thornton and Anastasia then? There is hardly anyone of a high standard left at the BDO and I certainly got the impression from his interview at the Worlds in January that it was only a matter of time before Gary Anderson switched.

  3. Does anybody know answers to any of these questions..Q. What was the first WWF video release here in the UK?

I don't know this for certain, but the earliest ones I remember were:Hulk Hogan - Real AmericanWrestlemania's Greatest MatchesHigh Flyerswhich were all released at the same time circa 1990.
  4. Did Lou Thesz & Ric Flair ever wrestle each other? I know Thesz's best days were long behind him when Flair's career was in it's infancy, but knowing how long Thesz was active for before finally retiring, I figured it was still a large possibility.

I am pretty sure that they never did. I have never seen any mention of it over at Kayfabe Memories and Meltzer has never wrote that they have wrestled, and he would certainly have bought it up at some point. On the other hand Lawler has wrestled Thesz.
  5. A few days ago I watched that "Legends of Wrestling Roundtable" that talked about the Monday Night War. I found it tremendously interesting. Michael Hayes sounds sloshed, but Bischoff came off well.Just wondering how many of these things were they, and what subjects they were about?Thank you.

Just lifted direct from someones site.

  6. Okay guys quick question but one that has been driving me nuts like a steering wheel in the pants!I'm a huge mark for Great Muta and am realy interested in following NJPW, AJPW and Hustle but haven't a scoobies as to where I can find any footage or buy DVDs. Any suggestions?

Classifieds would be a good place to start. If no luck there go to www.crazymax.org, there are plenty of people there who can help you out.
  7. Was that not the time that Russo hired him because of an internet petition?

No. The internet petition got him his job back after he was fired the first time. I believe he was then sent to developmental in Memphis and lost a load of weight, though can't remember if he was ever bough back up to the main roster again.
  8. Little help...I'm looking for either a roster list or results that will give me a pretty good idea about who was working where in late 87 / early 88 for groups like AWA, Memphis, PNW and World Class.

What the hell, gives me an excuse to sack off work a little longer. From some December 87 Observers:World Organisation of Wresling (Pensacola indie): Ken Timbs, Pat Rose, Bob Holly (same guy), Rex Rogers, Pat Tanaka, Paul Diamond, Batten Twins, Jerry Stubbs, Davey Haskins, Big Bubba (not Bossman?), Bob Sweetan, Great Kokina (Yokozuna)
Was this not the man of many gimmicks Fred 'US Steel/Big Steel Man/Tugboat/Typhoon/Shockmaster/Super Shockmaster' Ottman?
  9. A couple of questions.1. When was Sunny's last WWF appreance, and what sort of shape was she in?2. Who were The Truth Commision?

I'd imagine Sunny's last appearance was in 1999, when she managed the short lived LOD 2000. She was still looking hot then. The Truth Commission where originally a South African 'army' faction, Kurgan, Sniper and Recon (who was Bull Buchanan) led by a General type figure. He was then replaced by the Jekyll (Don Callis) and they lost any real identity. Kurgan moved on into the odities, Callis left for ECW, Buchanan achieved a bit of notoriety and the other guy disappeared.
Kurrgan originally went under the guise of 'Interrogator' for a brief period before becoming Kurrgan. The General type went by the name of The Commandant, and as said didn't last long before being replaced by the Jackyl.
  10. What happened to the 'I love Double Double E' guy??

Vince saw him work a match and realised he wasn't ready for the main roster. (Amusingly he also then realised everyone else who'd seen him knew this but didn't want to contradict Stephanie McMahon and Johnny Ace.)He returned to OVW where he works as Alex Kozlov. He's part of the main heel stable, Team America, the joke being that they are made up of one American, a Russian, two Mexicans and a Belgian.
It is actually Vladimir Kozlov, Alex works down in Mexico for CMLL. You also forgot to mention the Akbars, Ali & Omar as part of Team America.
  11. I was looking for information on Wikipedia about the Viz character Jack Black and it lead me to a disambiguation page.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Black_%28disambiguation%29The fifth one down states Jack Black WWF wrestler. Has anyone heard of this guy, or has the writer just got the film Nacho Libre mixed up?

There was a guy called 'Mr Black' who was a staple of OVW in the early 2000's, and am pretty sure he did some WWE dark/syndicated squash matches under the name Jack Black.
  12. The beginner class is also known as the "goof class" and is for people just starting out. Intermediate is trained by Rip Rogers and those are the guys on Derby City Wrestling.

I was watching some of this the other day, and noticed Al Barone, who must be at least 50 years old. Surely the least likely candidate to ever make OVW, let alone WWE, and this was on a show that also featured Sonic and Fang.
Were you watching the big Royal Rumble show?Al Barone was awesome because he looked like no-one else in the promotion. He was like some kind of a cross between Drew McDonald and Mad Dog Vachon! Totally agree that he's the most unlikely person to make OVW or WWE, but damn he was great to watch.
The Rumble show was the one that I was watching, I did start to watch the first episode (with Ted McNailer vs Brandon Kaplan) however, I couldn't get into it for some reason. I though the Rumble show should've been the first episode, as although you were been hit hard by all the wrestlers not to mention cameo's from the various females and managers it did introduce you to everyone. I also liked the fact that in the show Timmy Baltimore has a more prominent role, as I thought he was great during all that Diva nonsense on OVW.Barone was certainly like no-one else in the promotion, although for some reason he reminded me of Phil Hickerson/P.Y.Chu-Hi from Memphis, and why when watching did I think that the one person WWE would want from that crew was Anthony Bravado.
