  1. Saw this on the Observer update from yesterday.

    Absolute madness from Kyoko Kimura.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVM8jgMRAP4

I knew it was an outrageous spot, but was it really worth copy & pasting something that I had already linked to on the page before?

    HOLY SHITE :omg:

How are either of these women still breathing?

Spot of the year, maybe even the decade.

  2. Vader.

New Japan, NWA, WCW, WWF, Noah, All Japan, TNA, WWE, and Indies.

You can also add UWFI, UWA (Mexico) and possibly CWA (Germany), although I cant remember if he was Vader or Bull Power there. Pretty sure he also showed up on a USWA spot show aswell when doing his Roadkill Tour.

  3. New question: Does anybody know of any footage that exists in some deep dark vault of the Public Enemy vs The Smoking Gunns match that went on before the Survivor Series? Cheers.

    From Survivor Series 1995?

I've never watched it, or seen the footage available on a compilation. Sorry about that.

Yeah, that SSeries. I know it was a dark match, but it was basically a tryout for TPE I think, so I wondered if, like those ones that pop up on Youtube, it had been taped.

I've always wondered about the Benoit 1995 WWF tryouts, where they ever recorded too? There is a brief clip on that DVD of his. Him managed by Ted DiBiase.

I would be certain that all this stuff exists in the WWE vaults somewhere. Dave Meltzer has often written about the fact that he has seen the Tom Magee vs Bret Hart tryout match, where McMahon and Patterson thought they had found there next Hogan in Magee. I also have a dark match compilation of stuff from the early part of the decade featuring the likes of the Dupps, Scott Vick, Brock Lesnar, Rico Constantino, Randy Orton etc. plus a Jerry Lynn vs American Dragon match.

  4. What happend to the SAT's, Divine Storm and the guys in Special K?? They were all over the indies for a while but now haven't seen em advertised anywhere!

Hydro from Special K was / is Jay Lethal

Never really saw much ROH though, that was according to Wikipedia. :)

Quiet Storm wrestles regularly in Japan, and I think that is for Kaientai Dojo.

Cheech & Cloudy who were part of Special K are regulars for Chikara wrestling as Cheech Hernandez & MC 'Cloudy' Day.

  5. It wasn't going to be at Mania, but a separate PPV. They did go as far as to clear it with the commission in Vegas which said it was OK, but they couldn't do worked wrestling matches on the same show.

Lewis seriously talked about it, but soon realised he stood a good chance of losing and wasn't interested unless they did it under rules that gave him too much advantage (including standups after either 10 or 30 seconds on the ground) for it to be worth WWE's while.

Just for an additional bit of information, Kurt Angle vs Michael Moorer was the proposed semi-final for the Lesnar vs Lewis fight if it was to go ahead.

  6. Unlikely, considering it's a Central report. I'd say it's the Bullring in Birmingham.

Thats definately the Bull Ring in Brum. I am still mistified how the god awful Lucy got the weather presenting job when a whole host of far more experience and better qualified people were just shoved out the door in all those cuts. I would take Shefali over Lucy anyday by the way.

  7. The Guardian made interesting readin this morning. Mark Butcher, David Lloyd and someone else (Not Gus Fraser) are championing Rob Key at NO. 3! I don't. Key reminds me of a brearly type player, indeed, I wanted him to replace pietersen as captain. Key should not be in the team for his batting, but instead for his cricketing brain, and with someone else in charge, it's not the same.

Butcher also pushed for Ramps, if not Key, but I don't agree.

Ramps is not the answer. How many times has he been dropped and recalled? more than Hicky I would imagine. They were saying on Talksport that he averages under 30 for Tests, and whilst an exceptional County Batsmen couldn't cut it at Test level. How would he cope with being bought back for one Test, when all the expectation would be on him to deliver? Someone suggested going cap in hand to Marcus Trescothick, and then move Cook down to 3. Harmison desperately needs to be dropped for the next Test, and Bopara needs a rest, as he has been found out in this series that he isn't a Test 3.

On the two occasions in the 1990's that he was recalled against the Aussies, he scored highly and England won both games. Last time he played against Australia, at The Oval, in 2001, he scored 136.

As far as I am aware on all these occasions the Ashes was already in the Aussies hands and the games were dead rubbers.

It is fine being able to score the runs at International level when the result doesn't matter, it is another thing altogether being able to get the runs when it matters.

  9. World Matchplay Draw.

    Colin Osborne vs. Steve Beaton

    Kevin Painter vs. Wes Newton

    Phil Taylor vs. Robert Thornton

    Wayne Mardle vs. Tony Eccles

We got our tickets a while for one of the sessions, and according to my mate who I received a text off this morning, the above is the lineup for the session we are going to. I am pretty happy with this, as I will finally get to see Taylor live.

  10. A few questions if anyone can help:

2, A few years ago in CZW Tournament Of Death Necro Butcher fought Zandig. I'm sure that wasn't the original match announced, can anyone remember who Butcher was due to fight?

    Mitch Ryder

  11. So the Jake/DiBiase feud started in May 89 and culminated, what, April 1990?

    Now THAT's some forward planning!

A strange as it may seem now, back in the day booking was done with a long term goal in mind. After Wrestlemania IV it was said thet Vince new the main event for Wrestlemania V would be Savage vs Hogan, and everything done was to build up to that. These days everything appears to be done on the fly, Vince changes his mind at the drop of a hat, and there appears to be little, if any long term plans.

  12. So long as they continue to keep producing decent players ( did you see Gurney and Chisnall at the Lakeside ? ) then they'll continue to be around. I can't name a top player who didn't come through the BDO.

The BDO will be around for a long time to come. However, any decent player will end up switching to the PDC, the BDO will end up producing some more talent, they will join the PDC, and it will all continue again. Chisnall looked the absolute business in the BDO Worlds, though I didn't care for Gurney in the slightest.

  13. Has the Undertake ever faced Chris Jericho in a singles match?, I cannot think of one even on house shows during the 1999 - 2002 period before the draft as they were pretty much heels and faces at similar times and then after the draft jericho left when interbrand matches became the norm. In all honesty its a weird Dream Match for me

The above website will be able to help you.

  14. Has John Zandig sold all or part of CZW to someone, just asking as in the last few videos and even last night watching The Wrestler I noticed that they now have a decent little rampway and video screens. Also the presentation quality seems a lot better.

So has Zandig either a) won the state lotto. or b) got an investor.

For some reason the guy who owned XPW - Rob Black seems to be creeping into my thinking about it.

I haven't watched the promotion for a bit, but from when I used to frequent the CZWfans message board, I am sure I remember something about D.J.Hyde investing into the company. It would certainly explain why he used to get pushed so heavily.

  15. Anderson Silva for me, 3 wins and all inside the distance (even if one was the Cote fight). To be honest I find it pretty ludicrous that Miguel Torres hasn't made the shortlist (especially as you have Thiago Silva )as 3 fights for the year, and he finished everyone he faced, and one of those was the incredible fight against Maeda. Had GSP finished Fitch, I may well have gone for him over Silva, but it is a pretty sorry state of affairs if Lesnar wins this.

  16. Mab got my vote. Nowhere near as bad as he was last year, but still the odd idiotic comment such as about the Luchadores on the Paul O'Grady show, and his posts in the Pregnancy thread (I think that is where they were) that stick clearly in my mind, and the absence of people such as Roger, nateandrews, Mr Lawrence, Mr Mojo Rising in this category means it was him for me.
