  1. I'm with Loki on this un. Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, Mysterio, Taz, RVD, Rhyno all did pretty well out of ECW. I'm aware two of those men are dead, but I don't think Heyman is particularly to blame for those two in particular.

Two dead and another three of them pretty crippled. I don't think he's any more to blame than any other promoter though.

Meh, all of those guys apart from Taz carried on wrestling for like 10 years after ECW folded.

  2. I love how Tyler Reks takes issue with Cena not knowing that he had been using the Burning Hammer on TV for months before John told him off. As if Cena's going to take time out to watch that jabroni's matches. A road agent should have picked him up on it much earlier though.

True. Of course he doesn't stay up and watch bloody superstars, he's out making wishes!

  3. Yeah, I bought it off of the Xbox marketplace and played through it couple of years ago, It's still awesome. The graphics held up much better than I thought they would (although that could be down to the Xbox version being much better than the PS2 one which I played originally), even some of the harder shit that I dreaded playing again (the Zero ones/Flying school etc..) seemed to be made more forgiving. The GTA5 stuff is making me want to play it again.

Assassin's Creed 3 has been rubbish so far. It's not helped by the fact that a file that the game told me to read spoiled a plot twist that's yet to come. So to anyone still/about to play the opening stages of the game: don't read anything in the Animus database.

It just flat-out said about the Indian woman- "she fell in love and had a child with a Templar."

Thanks for that, Ubisoft. I'm really looking forward to the cutscene where the guy I'm playing as actually reveals himself to be a Templar now! Dickheads.

I know it's going to get better, but right now I'm regretting that I traded in Resi 6 to go towards it.

I got it out on lovefilm, but I got rid of it rather sharpish. It takes far, far, far too long to get going, the plot spoils too much and there's too much forced stealth and it just doesn't play as well as Asscreed2

  4. Duke is Boris's number one fan.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying he's not a twat (I don't think he is, but hey ho) but having worked for the man I find this whole "It's impossible to be a tory and likeable so he MUST be making it up" stuff to be ridiculous. If he's a twat, judge him by his real twattyness, not something you suspect might be true but have no actual reason to believe.

  5. Ronnie - shineys or shinies?

Up to you, I'd say. It's not exactly a word with an established history ;)

I think it's historically the case with -ey to create a plural by adding -s. It's certainly true for valley, monkey, donkey, attorney and anything else I can think of. With newer words I think a lot of us apply the approach 'y becomes ie' (cries, flies, allies) without twigging that the rule doesn't apply if there's an 'e' before the 'y' and so we end up with bogeys/bogies, smileys/smilies and shineys/shinies. Visually I prefer the newer forms.

But hold on, surely there's no e in shiny.

  6. After watching this weeks Raw and Smackdown.. I had a real buzz watching them just like I did each week watching during the last boom period.Does anyone else feel that we are heading down that way now with compelling must see story lines and crowds that pop for anything?

Raw did the lowest rating it's done in forever last week, and there are no signs of a boom period, including the fact that raw isn't very good. So no

  7. He was very over in 2010 and that went tits up. If you bring someone in as one thing, establish him in that role and all of a sudden bring him back as a bare knuckle fighter, he's not likely to get over. You are trying to re-educate the fans on a character who's been around for a while, which is always hard to do. In 2010 he was a character. Now he's a gimmick. Like the Repo Man. To people willing to forget his years of fucking about in the uppercard and failing at every turn in main events he's this new hard man person. To the regular Raw and Smackdown viewer, he's just Wade Barrett with a beard. Its going to be hard to delete how shite he's been portrayed over the last few years.

To be honest I'm not sure it'll be that bad, he just needs to be in a proper storyline. He's too established and doesn't need to deal with the yoshi tatsus of the world. If he wants to do this gun for hire thing they should just do it with him rather than pissing about waiting

Also, he wasn't exactly being pushed badly when he left. He'd only recently pushed Randy Orton down some stairs and been feuding with Sheamus. They were in the process of rebuilding him

  8. Look at Harley Race, absolute legend, 7 times NWA champ, can you really perceive him as a main eventer? Can you for real or do you say it just because you've been told it's true? Killer promo, ok, looks hard, great, but we are just not conditioned to taking "real people" seriously

Well two of the biggest names of the late 90's were Austin and Goldberg, who both would possibly debunk the "Killer promo, ok, looks hard, great, but we are just not conditioned to taking "real people" seriously" part.

For what its worth I was always sceptical of the Race hype but by god he is amazing, mainly because of how he does things and the fact he looks like he could fuck any one up and had a hell of a bit of talk on him.

To be fair, I don't think Goldberg falls into the "real people" category, quite the opposite really.

  9. well im sorry put thats what trash talk is all about and it seemed that wwe wanted him and ptp to come across like that. How many people complained is it any worse then some of the shite thats on tele.

    Yes it is.

It's a rape joke. You can not, in 2012, on PG show, say that on national television.

Trash talk is not all about rape jokes. Have a word.

  10. They were called Jesus Christians and were "Freegans". Apparently this entails living in a van and eating out of bins and claiming that they contribute to society in other ways than paying tax (Praying lots, I suppose) while using some public services.

They sound amazing. I must look further into this.
