Yes, it is

Just having a think here in the office as it's a slow day. I know I'm going to get shot down for this, but oh well here goes. If they bring Sting in for Wrestlemania howabout having him tag with the Undertaker (against the Wyatts, Shield) and then have Sting lose the match for him and the Undertaker. 'Taker gets mad beats on Sting, and it sets up a 1 on 1 match at a future PPV. This way Undertaker can say he's never been pinned at WM (streak technically still intact) and there's the possibility of a future PPV getting a big, big rating. I guess all it comes down to is if Sting comes in will he be willing to lie down for someone?
It's too late to turn Taker heel.

Just found out I've got a job working for the ehad of public policy at mastercard. It's only a temp contract, but a huge step up for me and an amazing opportunity. Properly excited.

the two are linked. He didn't come back to are because of his huge injury. In discussion of WM30 everyone keeps talking about The Rock coming back but is this actually a done deal? Because after last year where The Rock didn't even bother turning up to the Raw after WM when he was supposed to, his apparent huge injury that he sustained in his match against CenaÂ
I seem to remember at the time people thinking he may have been faking the injury.
Yeah, he wasn't. He had surgery and missed important publicity events for his newest film. It was people putting 2 and 2 together and making 2489563785

Morrison, is a good worker, but too damn pretty for blokes to cheer him as a face..
People say this, i've never really got it. Are we honestly suggesitng no pretty boys have ever gotten over as babyfaces? Because, like, they have.

(even stick that Sting match on a DVD for a laugh)
Â
It's definitely going on my DVD. Probably accompanied by E&C as talking heads bringing up that they'd wrestled full twenty minute matches with Jeff in the same state on dozens of occasions, "that's just Jeff" and then Hardy himself showing up grinning maniacally and simply saying "Japes!!"
Personally I'd have a cut in of cm punk, shaking his head and grinning "told you so!"
-
Am I the only one who thinks that the crowd who hate Cena because he's an 'unbelievable good guy' and has been the top face for too long will just cheer Cena's heel turn anyway.
nah, I think everyone thinks that.
-
I'm sure Dave Meltzer brought it up on Monday.
Nah, Meltzer just stated that TNA offered him a better deal and that Hogan was currently trying to boost his price/profile by talking up a potential 'Mania match. Then he got into a debate with Alvarez about whether Hogan was worth the same price as Rock/Lesnar for a one off match.
Ah, that's me misremembering then. All I remember is Alvarez scoffing at the idea of him being worth rock money, quite rightly,.
-
I'#m sure Dave Meltzer brought it up on Monday.I dont know where people are getting the idea that Hogan is asking for more than the Rock or that he's worth more than the Rock. Rock was getting something like $4 million a year, plus whatever he made on residuals and buyrateÂ
As for saying the rock didn't draw massively, I was refering to the Survivor Series match. There are plenty of reasons why that match didn't draw, I was just responding to air raid (admittedly without ever saying I was...)
-
I'm 25 now. I missed basically everythin Hogan did pre nwo, (and I was 7 when that happened) although I did know who he was. People my age and younger just weren't around for when Hogan was part of the zeitgeist, and so I don't think he'd move any money now.
Most of Raw's audience are blokes that are 10+ years older than you, though.
Â
That's the average age, sure. But the question of those guys is A) how many of those are parents watching with kids/ how many of those are going to pay for Mania (that weren't already). Especially because he's not going to be wrestling.
Â
hogan'll get a nostalgia pop, maybe even a rating, though I doubt it. I can't believe he's worth more than the Rock is. That the Rock didn't draw massively isn't evidence that Hogan's worth more than him, it's evidence that there is a diminishing impact in those guys
-
The power of nostalgia for "Hulk Hogan back in WWE" means people will pay to see him whether he wrestles or not.
Â
Rock and Lesnar turning up is nice, like seeing old friends is nice, but Hogan being at Mania 30 would be akin to having a birthday party and Elvis, Santa and Sasha Grey turn up, and Sasha wants to nosh you off.
I'm really not sure that that's true anymore though. I don't think people pay to see Hulk Hogan on TV anymore, if only because they know he's 60 and who cares? He's not really been around much on wwe tv since 2006 (maybe some appearances between now and then, but not much) and if The Rock isn't moving numbers, I can't believe Hogan will, as the Rock is a much bigger deal these days than Hogan is. The kind of people who would get incredibly excited to see Hogan are the kind who would buy Mania anyway, and I don't think anyone will part with their cash to see him these days.

Well, yeah, I agree that makes sense, but that's not what a contract signing angle with bully ray would be, surely
Â

I know not to read too much into the spoilers for next week but

The main event segment was the contract signing for Bully Ray vs. A.J. Styles. Styles refused to sign, saying he would sign the contract after he beats Bully.

what???
-
Yeah, the future of this company is all about big e Langston. Partly because Cena loves him, but partly because he's obviously amazing. Roman reigns is cooler, big e is better.
-
Is it just me that isn't convinced the del rio Cena match is going to happen then? I'm not unhappy if it does, but I don't actually think it will

that type of full on interactive play and I prefer Fifa to be something I can have a bash on if I have a spare half hour here or there, it just seems really convoluted now. Also, I had to update the squads with the latest transfers as Liverpool didn't have Sakho, Ilori or Moses and then they disappeared in the Career mode as the default squads were used automatically. I would hazard a guess that you may find Ozil missing from Arsenal in the same way.
If you download the update from the edit team menu they're all there, they're just not on the default disc version.
Â
Â
Right started another career mode today after downloading the squad updates but when I start a new career it says that the squads have been changed to default. What am I doing wrong?
when starting career, change "default squads" to "current customised"

Has anyone seen the post that Sky Bet have up on Facebook regarding the betting for Battleground?
Â
The comments underneath range from cringeworthy to straight up embarrassing. You have guys on there spouting the 'it's all fake, this is just asking for match fixing' gubbins, but then you have the wrestling fans that are the reason it's sometimes easier to not admit to being a wrestling fan, commenting with things like 'if it's so fake, tell that to Droz blah blah blah'.
Â
It's an amusing read.
To be fair, re the match fixing stuff, da meltz says that's basically exactly what happens. The reasons some odds shorten drastically is because of insider betting knowing what's going to happen. It's been a thing all year
-
How valuable is Hogan really? I mean, people know who he is, but he's made no difference to the ratings, and if I tell my friends he's on TNA they go "hulk hogan? Isn't he like 70? He's still doing wrestling? What a joke", rather than any enthusiasm towards him at all
-
He's nowhere near 48, he only started out around the turn of the millenium. He'll be around 30, 35 at most.
Indeed. He's 31 according to wiki.
-
The what now?
Got something to do with his feud with Buff Bagwell hasn't it? I'm sure the guy was basically there to call old Buff a pussy.
Didn't he start bringing him to the ring to dodge rick?
Â
I thought the buff feud ended up not really happening

Damnit. UKFF intellectual property stolen again

Blinding promo? Dusty cut a shit promo, Steph too. The entire thing was an awkward bumbling mess where they stepped on each other and repeated things and warbled their way through stuff. Dusty sounds like he's got brain damage.
Balderdash. Dusty was great, Steph was at her best, as much as I'm usually not a massive fan of hers. Offering the gift card was absolutely dickish

Surely that's Ted Turner, if you think about it.Dixie will always have an interesting place in wrestling history now wont she? Most high profile money mark ever?
