There's no logic to it really is there, just Dana and UFC talking. 

Punk was an anomoly. He was signed purely for the eyeballs it would attract. His MMA skills, or where he was at in his career were not relevant to anything. 

If there is money to be made the UFC will sign anyone. Heavyweight is always weak on numbers so they probably thought Arlovski was worth a punt in an already thin division. Alvarez has won 1 fight since he left the UFC and I can't Imagine he'd fight for peanuts. They probably don't see him worth investing in when 155 is already stacked with names. 

I tend to drink 3 coffees a day and usually have 1 or 2 cups of decaf in the late afternoon/evening. However, the Mrs drinks lots of tea (normal and poncey) so I decided to make a cup for myself after several years of abstaining. 

I usually make the tea/ coffee in our house so I feel like I've got a decent grip on making a good cuppa even though I don't drink it. Outside of the previously mentioned poncey teas, I could only find PG tips in the cupboard so I went with that.

Looks good in the cup and I reckon the builders would be swaying if we had any in but it honestly takes like nothing, bland shite. I will probably get some Yorkshire Tea in for further testing but this has done nothing to change my mind. A massive dissapointment. 

Normal service has resumed. 

I recently smashed my Rollerblade mug so I'm making due with a wilderness/outdoor themed mug currently. It's just not the same, though.

Costa - Gingerbread Latte - Pants. Biscuit was soft and probably gone off. 

Costa - Brie and Cranberry Toasty - Pretty good although towards the end It was a little sickly. 

Tesco - Pigs in blanket sub. As part of the meal deal this was cracking. Cranberry inside helped it massively. 

Off to Aldi for the shop tonight. Excited for the prospects that await. 

Good to see Woody Cabana back in the toybox after TK realises he can't play with Punk Lightyear anymore. 

Anyone watching Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix? 

I've only seen the first 3 but they've all been massively enjoyable. The short, punchy format is great and the acting, scenery and overall eery feel is cracking. 

Fully recommended.

They're mostly full of shit so who knows. Have to imagine the UFC were taking note after the Clash at the Castle event did pretty well last month though.

I love the fridge. You'll find it can slot anywhere once you get it. The PS5 is awful looking, and looks like it belongs on the goofy faux-futuristic set dressing of that Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie from the 2000s. 

The size is actually causing me a dilemma at the moment. Our TV stand is small and it's not going to fit in there. I thought about just standing it vertically on the carpet but I've read that's not a good idea due to dust etc so I've spent the morning looking for 'tiny tables' to sit it on. Unfortunately, all furniture products need to be vetted by the Mrs to ensure they match our current living room set up. 

A 15x15 black piece of wood which would be unnoticeable seems the best option. 

Just to update, I found a deal on an Series X for £399. Was thinking about waiting until Black Friday but decided to just go with it as I keep reading they're in and out of stock constantly. 

Crazed anticipation starts. Wish the thing didn't look like a fucking mini fridge though!

I've read that expandable storage for the Xbox series S can be very pricey and in some cases actually cost more than the Series X. I've just been having a look on Amazon and there are 500gig storage devices going for about £30 that are apparently compatible:

I'm 100% a low tech redneck so half the fancy stuff, 4K, frame rate and all that jazz is lost on me. I just want something that's gonna last me another 6/8 years without needing to upgrade. The lack of a disc drive and fairly small storage space is quite off putting though. 

Maybe I'll wait to see what deals pop up during the Amazon/Black Friday madness. 

I'm still using my original Xbox One but am thinking of upgrading. Is there any point in getting the Series S at this stage? Or am I better off just going for the series X?

I don't have a 4K TV but the Series X seems the best for future proofing at this stage. 

Nothing official has come out but Amy Kaplan who has been tweeting about this all week has apparently stated she's been told Mark Zuckerberg has bought out the event and that's why there will be no fans or media. Something to do with VR has been talked about. 

Hasn't there been talk that Zuckerberg has been training MMA recently too? 

This is all very odd. 

Same thing happened to me a few years back. I took the Mrs car instead of mine and entered the wrong reg into the machine. 

After I realised my mistake I took a picture of the ticket i bought with the wrong reg. When I got the fine I sent them an email showing I'd paid on the day but typed in the wrong reg number.

The chisling bastards still ended up fining me a tenner though. This was all around the time my Mother passed so I couldn't be arsed to fight it further. Persistence seems the key with these pricks. 

We've had these Gnomes for about 8 years so they were weathered white and grubby as hell. Decided to clean them off and paint them with some cheap acrylic paints from Amazon. Probably gonna need to get some water seal on them but happy with how they turned out. 

Last nights spoils from the usual place. I dubbed him the Union Jack, Ribbed-tickler out of respect. 

I had to fuck off Powerwashing Simulator. My progress keeps resetting on the Subway level and  it was too much for me to keep redoing.

However You Suck At Parking on Xbox Gamepass is annoyingly addictive fun. I'm stuck on the Route 66 level but I can't stop attempting it. Cracking little audio track in the game too. 

If its at 185 then I'm all in for Chimaev v Paulo Costa. They had an exchange at the PI last week and there's been some back and forth on social media since.

Mental really. UFC booked themselves heavily to win and they fucked it. Can't see Nate is under any obligation to fight Chimaev now. If he ends up with Tony it's such a great fuck you to the UFC.

It's a wild one. I'd pick Chimaev to get it to the floor early doors and get a GnP stoppage easily but I'd like to see how it plays out if Chimaev wants to prove a point and keep it standing. Burns held up pretty well and had his own moments against Khamzat.

I started rewatching Brooklyn Nine Nine with my 15yo as well and they love it. Still amazed by how consistently good it was.

Me and the Mrs are on our first watch of this about midway through season 5 now. The main cast all have something to offer and I like how they've touched on some serious issues without changing the shows dynamic. Plenty of big characters and laughs throughout. I can't believe we persisted with watching all of Parks and Rec before we started this. It wasn't worth it even for Ron Swanson. 

Just got the train from Cardiff back home and spotted a few fans already making their way in. I'll be taking my disabled brother who's excited as hell about it. Hopefully they serve up something half decent.
