He confirmed as much the last time he was on Helwani's show. He's torn something but is working around it.

Heard him mention it several times. Smart, subtle way of setting up a cop out for him losing.

After this show he will have the money for surgery.

     Brock wins.

  2. That smile on Pentagons face! He was so proud. The match was ridiculously fun.

I truly hope SCU win the belts next week. My wallet also.

The whole ‘sport style’ is just marketing huh!? This episode was like Cirque du Soleil.

Once again enjoyed this weeks ‘AEW Wednesday Night NITRO’.

Janela is a way better worker than he needs to be btw.

  3. At work we are understaffed, so every year I passive aggressively tell my employer that I am planning to leave because I want some new adventure. And every year they throw more money at me. It’s of course all a work from my part.

Same goes for Orton. It would be a nightmare for WWE to have him leave so he is busting their balls. That Instagram post is probably just a clever way for Orton to negotiate a WWE raise.

  4. Imperium is having killer matches for a while now.

Loved Keith Lee vs Dijakovic until Dijakovic Climbed on the top rope on Lee’s shoulders like a remote controlled Robot and got perfectly seated for a Top-rope Powerbomb. Looked stupidly fake. Such a shame.

    I liked the show.

NXT setup does like a Total Indy though compared to AEW’s arena’s...

  5. Calm down. I'm just taking the WWE Jerry McDevitt stance to trigger discussion. Hence the Devils Advocate tag in my previous post.

Performers take their craftmanship seriously and as it is extremely high risk, so incompetence can be really frowned upon.

A big mistake (as viewed by the wrestlers) can be met with disgust. It's the whole 'getting broken in' thing right? You hear it in every WWE doc. Veterans 'correcting' rookies.

These performers are under high emotional stress in that ring and when a finish goes bad I can understand that they can choose to work 'on the fly'.

Looking at the footage, Sha Samuels did everything to protect the ref. Protecting the other is the fine line between real and fake violence. Pro refs should be able to work on the fly and take a bump.

Bodom acted reckless though and that's why he will never last. Good riddance.

Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work like that. Reasonable force, I think they call it. If a fan jumps in the ring, a person can do what they need to do to defend themselves but I don't think a beatdown is necessary.

    Agreed. Triple H disagrees though:

To get back on topic. As discussed in the below video: I just wonder:

‘What is actually fair in pro wrestling?’

‘Isn’t it just poorly executed improvisation from Sha and Bodom after a messed up finish?’

Improvisation happens all the time in pro wrestling.... It’s a big part of your job description as a wrestler and referee. It’s not choreographed ballet.

Shouldn’t the ref had understood that he needed to co-operate in the improvisation as this could always somewhat be part of his job?

And if improvisation is always a possibility in this line of work, shouldn’t refs always be prepared to take an unexpected bump? Are you truly a ‘professional’ referee if you are not able to bump?

Who was actually the unprofessional one in this case!? The Ref who didn’t train himself and couldn’t improvise or the wrestlers who actually did?

Where is the line in pro wrestling?

I think we'll just have to deal with the fact that until Aaren is bringing NJPW talent over himself, that sections of people are gonna side with Quildan on this.

Who cares if someone got criminally assaulted if you get Okada a couple of times a year, right lads?

Good point. Wouldn’t mind at all.

All jokes aside; RPW is a wonderful promotion. I enjoy it a lot. Even travelled to York Hall to see a show. Saw lots of great shows on demand.

I was live in the crowd at MSG and saw Andy Quildrin sitting ringside to present the British Heavyweight Title. He deserves to be proud.

Andy Quildrin is doing an amazing job. RPW is awesome.

We all mess up from time to time. Shit happens. Josh Bodom good riddance. All forgiven. Hope the ref recovers and returns to RPW soon.

  8. I hope Andy Quildrin realizes that this is a massive opportunity again for his company. Just like with the Vader/Ospreay shitstorm; controversy creates cash.

@ Andy Quildrin; Play with the cards you have been dealt:

This is the time to book:

    ‘Respect Match’

Josh Bodom vs Rampage Brown (w/the ref in his corner.)

No need to fire Josh Bodom. He’s your biggest draw now. We all want to see him get beat up now. Make it happen!

  9. I will be going against all odds and put 50 bucks on Joe. Joe winning the tilte was 6X your money last time I checked.
    Start of a new era.

Eric Bisschoff loves Samoe Joe (listen to the clip below).
I'm sure he's in for a massive push. He needs to get a "W" somehow (DQ/countout whatever) to keep looking strong.

Change direction. Joe vs Brock for the title on FOX will give the product credibility.

It's time for some shock value. It's all so predictable these days. Something needs to change.

I said to my mate, they’ve booked a 50 man Battle Royale and it didn’t come close to being as good as one with Glacier, a Guy with no legs and a Dinosaur in it.

Takes some doing to put on a battle royale with no redeeming qualities but they managed it. My mate was howling telling me the bookies odds were Hogan or Mansoor.

Smart Money came in quick. Odds flipped before the show. So many leaks which turned to be correct: The failed Brock cash in plus Mansoor winning.

Next to blood money, the Saudi shows are one big giant smart money gambling leak.

Easy money with every match except Roman vs Shane. Once Drew showed up you knew you were fucked on that one.

  11. Respect for the careers of both, but I feel there is to much heat for Goldberg.

I would say Taker was to blame for atleast 60%:

Taker did an elevated tombstone to protect his knees and almost broke Goldbergs neck. This was the start of the match. Spiked him on his skull. It was up to Goldberg to toughen it out from here on out.

Taker couldn't straighten his core/legs and was deadweight for the Jackhammer. Announcers fucked up also, they should have just marked like Goldberg did a brainbuster instead of selling the jackhammer.

Taker didn't have the strength to muscle Goldberg for the Tombstone reversal spot. Dropped on his ass like Scott Steiner.

I would only solely blame Goldberg for those shit Chokeslam jumps. His part would have been fine if the Jackhammer looked good. Overall, I feel taker is the one who showed his limitations in all aspects. He should be mainly pissed at himself.

Riddle is just childlish and unprofessional.

  12. Watched it live. Put some money on it to give it some extra. This is in Vegas after all. Won 23 bucks. Dissapointing. Not worth the gamble.

Never expected the bookers (Cody, Young Bucks) to book themselves to win. Looked liked I was completely fucked. Thank god for Jericho winning as he had the odds stacked against him.

They promised a real sports vibe...

However we got SCU in a PWG spotfest. Evans and Angelico doing Cirque du Soleil. The 6-man womens match was a shitstorm of choreagraphed spots. No 'real sports' vibe at all as it all looked a lot more 'fake than WWE.

Jim Ross was complaining at Starrcast for the lack of 'selling in WWE, yet he was calling these matches. Hypocrite.

The refs allowed all tag partners in the ring. Rules didn't matter at all.

    Cody vs Dustin was special.

    Awesome main event.

Overall, it was an OK show.

Ah shit, just realised I paid 20 bucks to get the show... So that's 3 bucks profit after staying up the whole night... I got kids and they just woke up...This is going to be a looong day.
