I love a good Chinese, Indian, Pizza like anyone else.

There is a food version of "I've got black friends" after all ;)

Look lads, it's called a chippy.  If it does chips then it's a chippy.  Not fries, chips.  Whether it's a decent one or not, that's the discussion.  The jack of all trades was discussed as far back as page 5 and I agree, the ones who don't specialise tend not to be anything above average across the board.

  2. You're damn right. We all know the difference between chippy chips and fries. Kebab houses, chicken joints and pizza places do fries. If they have chippy chips, they're a chippy. I appreciate some of you adhere to the Bowler Rule but to dismiss a chippy because of doner meat on the menu is fucking stupid.  Me and air raid said pages ago how West Midlands ones always had doner meat, I guess the ones I grew up near should be struck off because they served those little tubs of cockles, or do a cheese fryit.

  3. I know it's incredibly judgmental of me, but I can imagine that pie and mash shop having a sign up saying "Proudly serving non-halal meat in all our pies".  The fucking state of it.

You can't be "mostly" vegan, that's just silly. If Tom Brady is classified as "mostly vegan" then so am I, surely? His diet resembles much of what I've mentioned in this thread, which is no dairy, 15%-20% lean, high-quality meat, and a lot of fruit and vegetables.

That's what the TED video I posted mentions, how it's binary and doesn't take into account meat free days.  I guess if you look at it like "Straight Edge" where people seem to have their own rules regarding what is and isn't.  You have your core ones, like drugs and alcohol, but then some people don't include certain things in the drugs category.

  5. Bit of a trek, but the best vegan food I've ever had was in Chicago.  Place called Native Food Cafe, they have a few branches across the US.  It's like a real casual diner and the spicy buffalo (BuffaNO?) wings were unforgettable.

Said before, anywhere that does kebabs, pizza's, southern fried chicken or any of that other guff shouldn't be classed as a chippy.

Max can thrive on Unleaded, but clearly you need Premium, dude! PREMIUUUUM!

    DUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDEE!!!

Of course, if we're talking about being kinder to the environment, I'm doing the greenest thing a person can do and not have kids.

  8. Well, if you're going to make claims like that, it's important to have the statistical evidence to prove them.  Vegans in both those sports are still single figure percentages.

Tom Brady did it and now like half the NFL followed suit.

    Most professional marathon runners are.

    No they didn't.

    No they aren't.

  10. I wonder what impact Brexit could have on veganism?  Given how so many farming jobs, at least regarding the picking and processing of vegetables and crops is done by a large amount by an unskilled migrant workforce.  If more of them would be needed to facilitate a growth in, erm, growth of vegetables, would them being restricted getting into the country damage that growth?

All the good inks are vegan anyway, it’s only cheap shit from China that isn’t and that’ll fuck up people’s skin.

Ah didn't know this.  As always, thanks for the info.  I have no tattoos but love reading when you share your knowledge.  As you pretty much said, I agree that the meat industry is centred on "But we've always done it" and it's habitual.  I have many a meat free day, it's surely better to have it 3 or 4 days than 7.

I thought he was joking, but I was trying to make a "you may joke, but..." post. Have I misunderstood, and he was being serious?

When Spurs released a video about their new ground, one part was met with derision and held as an example of everything wrong with the modern game.  That part was the announcement of on site artisan bakeries and craft breweries.

  13. Industry changes and people get new jobs.  I mean, when the coal mines were closed, you didn't see towns and villages decimated by it.  They all simply retrained and got new jobs.  You could hardly notice.

I don’t sympathy for anyone who chooses to profit from immoral choices.

But morality isn't legislated, what is moral to you isn't moral to another and vice versa.  It can't be used as a measuring stick.  For instance, I'm sure you use vegan friendly tattoo ink but not every artist does.  Should they go out of business?
