What a month its been for Billy Joe Saunders. Now he's popped for something and his October fight with Andrade is likely to be off.

Tagging on to that, I'm taking the gf away to Italy for her 30th and we're doing a couple of days each in Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan. I'm taking the cameras so i can get some pics done while i'm there so any suggestions for cool places to see or eat are greatly accepted.

The whole of Venice, essentially.  I love going there.  Best advice for eating is to take a stroll 5 minutes away from San Marco and the price drops considerably.  Avoid the tourist menu as well.  My favourite bit of Italian cuisine is the primo and secondi platti dining.  They are about 3/4 size mains so both fill you up.  Pasta for the first and fish/meat for the second.  The waiter will know about decent regional wines as well, so ask them to recommend a bottle.  The Jewish Ghetto is a great place for restaurants and old buildings.

I got a train from Venice to Florence, about 2 hours through great countryside.  If you could stop off at a few towns on the way, I'd bet you'd get great pictures.  Because a lot of the buildings are old, accessibility may be a problem if your hotel isn't new.  Be prepared for stairs!  Once, I was climbing the Duomo steps (shit scared of heights but what a view) and had to take a breather.  I was overtaken by a woman in her 80s and never felt smaller.

For the best view in Florence though, head to Piazzale Michelangelo.  It's on a hill (loads of steps) and gives you great panoramic views of the city.  Palazzo Pitti that side of the river is worth a half day explore as well.

The time of year has come where I leave the UK for winter. Rome is first on the agenda for a month or two.

Anyone been? Any nuggets of useful information or advice? Thanks in advance.

Public transport is ace and cheap, so don't worry about being away from the centre.

I will admit that i worded it coldly.

Fair enough.  I'd like to think we all know the difference between getting / feeling depressed and being depressed.

And I agree for what it's worth, I don't consider Fury to be the man to beat either.

Tyson Fury waved any right to claim to be an undefeated heavyweight champion when he piled on 6 stone, got depressed and fucked off.

Dave brought the mental illness thing up, not me.

Was it mentioned before here? Must have skim read it.

  6. As I always say, Little Tommy blocked me on Twitter.  He is gutted he didn't get sent down today, not so he'd be out in time for christmas, but so he can play the victim.  And he wasn't reporting on the case, he was arseing around with a mobile phone live streaming it, despite having a conviction for doing exactly the same thing previously.  He wan't to be seen as oppressed.

Some people who support the far right claim it's all about free speech and how a company censoring them on the company's own platform is curtailing freedom of speech.  It isn't.  There is a world of difference between having freedom of speech banned and not having a platform.  Being booted off social media is akin to being kicked out of a pub for being an arsehole and not abiding by the owners rules.

Although, if it's about freedom of speech, why didn't they protest when Anjum Chowdhury and his bellends had their twitter accounts banned.  Whats good for the goose.

And im not having a dig at Fury for suffering from mental illness, im just saying the guys accomplishment from 3 years ago is kind of irrelevant in the current climate

So why even mention it then?  Mind you, aren't you the guy who called Joshua's detractors on his sexism regarding his niece "Feminist snowflakes" or some other bullshit?

That's not a bad call actually.  I still think that if you're ordering pizza or kebabs from a chippy you're better if going to a pizza place or a kebab shop.

Yeah I think many agree with that.  I certainly do.
