To come back to the actual original point, which was about being able to market Ngannou vs. AJ: I'd say that, regardless of the result, Ngannou provided the promoters with enough material to hype this fight up by exceeding expectations and going toe-to-toe with Fury, and even knocking him down at one point. It wouldn't have been such an effective sell, even with good promoters, if Ngannou hadn't managed that.

100%. He isn’t seen as a novelty after running the world’s top heavyweight close. That’s the big difference in fans eyes between him and, for example, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.

  2. The only reason people thought Ngannou won was because of how much he exceeded expectations. It’s like when Dennis Rodman did an arm drag and people went nuts, or when Kate Middleton played the piano and people acted like she was Lang Lang.

If that was Big Francis’s 30th boxing match, no eyelids would’ve been batted at the decision.

Sting has my photoshoped piss take of his shitty snow globe on the wall of his dressing room.

This is like when it was revealed Bray Wyatt read Astros blogpost about him.

When i've had my hand sliced open. I too will brush down my top with the same hand, reach down risking further injury on other shards and then fix my hair

Not everyone notices cuts right away, shock and adrenaline can mean it takes a while. I’ve sliced fingers while preparing food and only noticed when the onions are turning red.

@gmoney Yeah it certainly looks that way. That camera angle doesn’t show the whole picture but was someone lying on the glass and moved out of the way? Otherwise it looks like the berk just threw himself through the glass.

  5. Said this before but that shouldn’t stop you. I was in the local supermarket and was wearing my ace Prince jacket. It’s a varsity style jacket in purple and white, and with the symbol thing as a logo (front and back).

A teenage lad approached me and asked where I got my jacket from and how he thought it was cool because it was Prince. I thanked him and told him I’d ordered it from a certain website, the name of which escapes me now, he was chuffed with the information and said “Oh thanks a lot, pal, I’ll order one of them for Father’s Day, my dad will be well happy”

    Little prick.

  6. Black Friday

I imagine shopping on Black Friday would be preferable to this. Some nice practical effects and Michael Jai White though, but overall this was very bad. My partner loves Bruce Campbell and Devon Sawa and even she struggled with this and she sits through every Nic Cage film.

It’s great they did so well by him in AEW, even if it was alongside an alleged abuser

They’ve been tag team partners for ages in AEW, haven’t they?

I've been trying to downplay the covid thing as I don't want to sound like one of those tinfoil hat guys

Those fuckers would blame the vaccine and not Covid! Hope you get answers, mate, it sounds terrifying.

I think it's probably quite a fitting tee for that band.

Yeah, when they first started, Jaret’s stage name was Jaret Von Erich! And of course they have the Alexa Bliss song.

Boxing IS rigged, far more than people would like to admit

It’s always historically been the easiest to rig as well because only one person needs to be in on it.

Maybe a sensitive thing, and not something that bothers me, but I’ve noticed over the last few years people don’t often mention that someone has died, but rather they’ve passed. Just reading above how some words seem to fall in and out of favour made me notice it.

There is a wonderful Instagram account called “They Didn’t Die” which has wonderful examples of using euphemisms in public notices, such as a keen pilot taking his last flight, that sort of thing.
