the way people love to say that the DDT used to work for Jake but you wouldn't end a match with it today. Guys are killing piledrivers and vertical head drops - if you do dropping someone on their head as a mid match move then it kind of makes it hard to suspend disbelief for finishes that AREN'T dropping someone on their head, does it not??
I’ve always been of the mindset of people who use a move as a finisher do so because they’re better at using it than other wrestlers, if that makes sense. I do agree with big moves being used any time during a match can devalue it as a big move, but you can pass it off by saying they are just shit at that move compared to someone who can finish a match with it.Â

Well, loads of Britwres shows regularly feature The Sound Of Silence.Â

The whole area is full of beautiful brutalist architecture. For me, it's the most unique part of London.
Totally on-brand, I follow a few Brutalist accounts on instagram and one of them posted it yesterday! The septics loved it!

A wrestling tradition we can all love, I’m sure.Â
EDIT - If you don’t know, whenever a new WWE game comes out, this guy beats up Hogan with black guys.Â

New Warhammer DLC for Powerwash Simulator. Only time I’ll play anything Warhammer related because I’m so cool I play a powerwash simulator game.Â
Not really feeling this. It’s certainly the worst DLC they’ve done. Just feels like the joy isn’t there like the others. It’s nothing to do with unfamiliarity, I’ve never watched Sponge Bob but enjoyed that DLC.Â

Unrelated to regular in-ring performers, but it strikes me that Jim Ross must've only been in his 40s at best – and thus arguably in the prime of his career for a commentator – when first referred to as "Good Ol' JR".Â
I thought that was more to do with the Southern good ol’ boy thing than actual age.Â

Has his base grown since the last election?
There is talk of a rise in the Latino and young black male demographic but I can’t help but wonder if that’s down to them being so unusual in terms of MAGAs that they get loads of the spotlight. Like when UKIP wheel out Asian supporters, that sort of thing.Â

A lot of the response on Twitter is from the usual 'AEW SUX' crowd. People calling it pointless and having no meaning having clearly not watched the match. That spot utterly has meaning in the context of it. It's dangerous and you don't have to like it, but some of the responses now are tiresome.
No doubt if that spot happened on a WWE show they would be praising it to the heavens, and vice versa. I’d say it’s worse than football fans but it isn’t.Â

I don't think anyone who didn't vote for Trump in the last election is likely to vote for him this time. But I think what'll make this election is if the same people who voted for Biden last time are likely to vote for him again.
Yeah, Trump won big but he won big with the republicans who bothered to vote. I’m hopeful that isn’t reflective of the full picture.Â

Finished Manifest. It was enjoyable guff but they went from a brilliant top baddie in Elizabeth Marvel’s The Major, to an awful top baddie in Holly Taylor’s Angelina. Nothing against the actor but the character was shite.Â
ÂStarted Mr Mercedes last night. Really good first episode. Nice to see Brendan Gleeson playing a disgruntled miserable bastard for a change.Â

Yeah, makes absolute sense to me. And yet I'll never do it. Same with books. I am weak.
Saw a meme the other day that described the difference between a bookworm and a bookdragon. The former reads books like their life depends on it whereas the latter hoards them for late like it’s treasure. I’m deffo a bookdragon!Â

Did Warren say anything after the Big Bang Zhang decision? Because he was crying when Vargas didn’t lose after getting floored twice.Â
