Elgin vs. Finlay is the other main standout for me. I fucking love Elgin and Finlay has been a bag of fun on the indys from what I've seen.
Â
ROH seem to have a massive hard on for WGTT for some reason, so I don't imagine ANX will take the belts from them.
-
I've got some of an episode done. I've got a Headshrinkers squash to watch next actually. That's tempting enough in itself.
Â
As for that second thing... no.
-
I always watch it the day after anyways, and just like last time, the main event has me intrigued. Steen and Richards' last No DQ was a bit dull though, so the hopes are a bit low.
Â
Some other nice looking stuff on the card though.
-
I don't watch boxing much, but that was pretty special. Froch is a fucking hero.
-
I'm not bothered by the other stuff so long as what's in the ring amuses me, but so much with ROH right now, it doesn't. That iPPV was the first show in a while that kept me engaged for much of it.
-
Dodgiest set yet, yet there's still eight of the matches, which is around half, that I'd happily watch over and over.
-
Well, a few thoughts. Had a bit of a giggle when I got to see it exactly when I wanted it, and loads of people didn't. Waiting 'till the next day is a good use of a tenner. :DThought pretty much everything outside of the two title matches ranged from fun-brilliant. The brilliant being the mental six man tag that continued the ANX/Bucks fued. The tag title match I thought was atrocious, and the main event was boring after a while. Worth the tenner though and if they can keep getting the replays up for me coming home from work, they'll continue to get my tenner.
-
I've bought it already and plan on catching it tomorrow. Steen/Richards is just too much for me to turn down. The card is quality from top to bottom for me. The last time I bought, I did it for Kevin Steen vs. Steve Corino and it delivered and I also got a belting Michael Elgin match for my money.
-
On the plus side, that card looks absolutely brilliant on paper. The main event is THEE match for me right now, as Kevin Steen is probably my favourite thing in wrestling and I fucking hate the champion. So I'll be on the edge of my seat all the way through and I'm definately watching pure for that match.
Â
The Briscoes have a good track record in brawls, Cole/Elgin has Elgin in it so I'm up for that, Storm/Bennett was very good last time out, Rhino/Edwards is VERY intriguing, Strong/Finlay should be brutal and they're bound to do SOMETHING with the Bucks/ANX fued. So yeah, it's the first must-see ROH card for a while for me.
-
The second match in the DVD must be one of the most underappreciated matches in ROH history. An absolute scorcher.
-
It wasn't THAT good...
Â
I'm struggling to think of many better. Punk/Joe II is the only one that comes to mind.
-
I had no idea that was Jerome Flynn in Game of Thrones. Fuck me, that's a turn up for the books.
-
I thought Michael Parks was great fun in it though. "Odd" isn't the word I'd use for Red State though. I'd be more inclined to use "shite".
-
The Briscoes in a FWH is fairly reliable, so that should be a good match with WGTT. Might well end up their best match since their ROH debut.
Â
The rest of the card actually looks really good so far. I'll certainly look to be checking this bad boy out.

I'm currently enjoying the new Lostprophets album. It's the most 'commercial rock' album they've done but it's great. Every review i've read has said it's a grower and i totally agree. And at risk of being slated even more, i love the latest Enter Shikari album.
Â
Not sure it's anymore commercial than "Start Something", but it's still a good wee album. I think the Enter Shikari album overdoes it on the dubstep at times.
-
I tend to agree on "Reload" when it comes to rubbishing Metallica albums. The sound on "St. Anger" is just incredibly off putting. Maybe more listens would do it justice more, but I tend to think with different production, I'd be much kinder on it. "S&M" is actually my favourite Metallica recording, live or otherwise. I love most of "Load" but reckon it could have lost a couple of tracks. "Death Magnetic" is yer standard hit and miss album as well.
Â
Going to the pre-Black stuff, there's not a song I don't love outside of "Metal Militia", and the self-titled itself is probably my second favourite studio album they've done behind "...And Justice for All".
Â
Yeah, I love Metallica.
-
I'll give Meltzer some credit, because the match is close. Davey Richards' best singles match ever by some distance, and my love for Elgin has only increased because of it.
-
Personally, I don't think Steen has quite got what it takes to carry the company; but I seem to be in a minority in that opinion - so maybe it would give ROH a kick up the arse if he won the belt?
Â
I think he has. Every time you see him, in every promotion, the fans are RABID. He's the guy on the indies with a huge aura about him. If he looked different, he'd be on WWE's radar. No question.
Â
There are some chinks in what he does of course, but in his ROH work these days he seems to be getting rid of the main one. That being the goofyness when he's supposed to be livid.
-
KILL STEEN KILL!!!
Â
I don't think there's a ROH match I'd want to see more live than that one.
-
Lance Storm can take a lot of credit for the match with Mike Bennett as he REALLY seems to carry things, and it's a very good match. Certainly the best match Bennett has ever had.
Â
Kevin Steen and El Generico tore the fucking place down. Absolutely brutal stuff. How Jacobs' Spike ended it when other moves didn't just grates me though. More shit booking. The main event was decent, and Richards, for once, was the best thing in it. He acted like keeping the belt was a matter of life and death and it's arguably his best singles performance ever, but apparently he matched it the night after. Got that to watch today, so we'll see.
-
I can't remember being this excited by a trailer for a long time. Rise of the Planet of the Apes had me excited, but this is another level. It's one of them ones that I just HAVE to go and see when it comes out.
-
Night one looks excellent actually. Night two has Steen vs. Edwards which has me foaming at the mouth. Strong vs. Lethal that night should be good too.
-
Michael Elgin needs to be there soon. I absolutely love that guy.
-
Richards has the belt, so I know which one that is., But the other two are fucking identical. Mike Bennett should bleach his hair and take his rightful place above those three.
Â
I'm not sure what to make of Bennett right now. I don't think he's as bad as people say, but he's still fairly boring. That said, he has a cracking look and has charisma to spare. MIGHT be a bit soon for him as a top guy, but if it's ahead of Davey Richards I wouldn't complain too much.
Â
I'd love to see Eddie Edwards with the belt back even if he IS bland as a character. I love watching the guy wrestle. Never been too hot on Roderick Strong though. I reckon the next champ will be Steen though, so don't give either guy a chance.

Kevin Steen is supposed to be the antichrist of ROH or something like that, and with Corino with him, it sorta makes sense that if he's gonna do commentary, he's gonna be like that. Which is kind of stupid from ROH's point of view, but absolutely fantastic from mines, because he was world class.
Â
I think calling Steen vs. Richards just an ECW brawl is a bit harsh. I didn't like many of them. I thought this was pretty good though. Certainly better than their first No DQ match, which was dull as fuck. I quite liked this one.
Â
Most of the show was REALLY disappointing. Was especially disappointed by Finlay vs. Elgin.
