  1. Buried was probably the wrong turn of phrase. It wasn't so much the kick to the head as the way it was set up - that finish was way too decisive for my liking, it failed to get over the fact that they'd had a super-close match-up. I've have booked something like an inside cradle/ small package - I didn't see how you could build a rematch out of the BITW finish, which might explain why it's taken them six months to get around to it.

I'm not sure why they needed to do a rematch any sooner. It's a big match for ROH and blowing it right away again would have been poor booking.

As for putting over how close the match was, the previous 35 minutes did a fantastic job of putting over how close the match was. The decisive finish wasn't supposed to make anyone look bad, and it didn't. What it was supposed to do was put Davey Richards over huge, which it did. Having a Small Package win or something in that match would have been a complete cop out. They made the right move ending it as they did. The only way which Eddie Edwards looked weaker is that he looked like he had lost to the better man on the night. Which he did.

  2. Rhyno vs. Homicide was actually pretty boring. Didn't deserve more than two sentences. The tag match they were involved in next time out was much better. Actually, I thought it was a perfect opener. This match was just the usual Homicide shitfest though.

As many have pointed out, the finish kind of buried Edwards a bit
  3. Kenny King could break out though. He's not the best wrestler, but he's good enough and has fucking BOATLOADS of charisma and more recently has shown some skills on the mic too. He's a good package. The ANX fued with The Briscoes was a good start for him. The tag team titles would be the next logical step for him. I don't see a problem with him not being thrown into the main events yet. I suppose they could blow it and throw him right in the deep end and fuck it up, but I think the alternative is probably the best option.

  4. There's always some decent outside bets, and then Adams comes through and wins it anyways. I'd imagine the same will happen again.

Sometimes I find Taylor soul destroying to watch, when he's in cruise control and still strolling through matches, but ever since the Matchplay he has been absolutely amazing to watch. As much as I dislike him, you can't help loving that level.

  5. I can't see a Generico turn being justified.

And in something other than wrestling, I could see that being a problem. There's a loose logic to it. That's all that's needed.

It's easy to sort really. Steen "accidentally" helped Generico to win the TV title. He went after Richards rather than Generico. They STILL haven't come to blows. You have Steen vs. Corino with Jacobs as the ref at Final Battle, so that's almost a surefire way for Corino and Jacobs to turn heel and completely obliterate Steen to the point that the fans are begging for the run in, and Generico finally sees enough and comes out and makes the save.

EDIT: That Final Battle bit is helped by Steen being popular no matter what he does.

Of course, you can worry about the explanation later, because the moment will do enough on the night to make people love it. And it wouldn't be hard to explain away either. Some shite about past feelings and all can be forgotten. As I said. It's wrestling. And ROH aren't exempt from such ridiculous logic gaps. At times they're the kings of it.

  6. Richards said that what everyone should take from tonight is the fact that people can indeed change.

I still can't see it being Generico who turns heel as he is the company's top babyface imo. It will all lead to Colt Cabana returning and turning heel. Steen was wearing a Cabana shirt at the show.

I think, if a double turn DID happen, Cabana could easily join a babyface Generico/Steen alliance to go against the Corino/Jacobs alliance, and you could possibly add the two Wolves on either side of the fued as well. I think it's all coming down to a Kevin Steen title win. It certainly seems to be his end game.

  7. I'm wondering if they can pull off a Steen/Corino double turn at Final Battle. Steen is immensly popular regardless of what he says or does, so it wouldn't be too hard. I still can see the Generico/Steen vs. Jacobs/Corino fued going into next year but I'm wondering how they're gonna do it now.

  8. PWG doesn't need Davey Richards anyways. The roster and shows can be excellent without him. I'd rather watch the likes of Kevin Steen, El Generico and The Young Bucks anyways. Plus, the better half of The American Wolves has been part of the roster as well.
