  1. To be fair to Hankey, the crowd were giving him such a roasting. He usually scores a lot better than that, but the crowd can get to him at times. Anyway I backed him at the Bookies to win this year, I reckon the final is nailed on for him at least.

I actually thought that was a case of Hankey not having to do anymore than he was doing. Waites really didn't bring his game to the stage at all. Hankey didn't look rattled that much. He put up with much worse at the GSoD.

Last time i had a look, there was a fat bloke in pink, walking a stuffed dog?

Did you see the Ross Montgomery walk on? Jesus christ. What a dickhead.

  2. To be fair, how many 26 scores were there in the Masters? That tournament bar one or two matches was excellent, and went to show that the BDO CAN be good. The Masters is always good though, because of the format. The Worlds allows for some... erm... not quite as good players.

  3. I understand Barney is a big draw but at what point does his popularity become more important than his form.

It becomes more important when it isn't there anymore. Untill then, Barney will continue to be there, whether he should be or not.

Both Painter and Hamilton are only there because of their end of year form, the rest of the year they were quite ordinary, both players were outside the top 10 before their good results and take away those results and they would be nowhere near the premier league.

Hamilton reached the final of the Worlds. There is absolutely no way they could justify leaving him out no matter what time of the year it is.

  4. Andy Hamilton always brings a decent game in front of the cameras as well. He seems to like that big stage, so I can see him throwing a spanner in the works.

Kevin Painter... he'll be like Klaasen was, turn up some weeks and get done most.

  5. Andy Hamilton really did show some nerve right there. He just took Whitlock's onslaught, came out the other side and kept plugging away, which is all you can do when a player of that quality just goes and throws everything at you. It was an absolutely amazing match. With Hamilton playing like he is, you really can't rule him out against any of the two men that are in this next semi final, and I actually quite fancy him to get his first major.

  6. Wade strikes me as a bit of a weirdo. He's got nerves of fucking steel though. Always had. That's why he's won multiple grand slams. Another great example is the Grand Prix he won a couple of years back. He's just got that thing that you need to win titles.

  7. If Hamilton plays the way he did in the Qtr Final, he's going to give Whitlock some real trouble. I can't see past Wade, but Lewis is one of them guys you can't write off. I think Wade will have too much steel for him in the end though.

I'll still agree with Whitlock vs. Wade in the final, but it's awfully hard to predict.

  8. Aye, that bugs me about him. He went APESHIT one year when he got put out of the UK Open and had a rammy with someone.

That Huybrechts is excellent though. Really good. Knew it when he played at the Euros as well.

  9. But the PDC bunch have never been there specifically for the darts have they? It's always been about dressing like a twat and singing football songs while getting smashed. If you actually want to watch darts then you go to the Lakeside.

True to an extent. They always woke up for cracking games though, and if someone was playing well, they'd at least pretend to care. In the last few tournaments, it got really bad. Still not nearly as bad as it was in Glasgow for the PL.

King should have beaten Van Gerwin. He missed a load of crucial doubles. Not sure whether its a case of King getting worse, or Van Gerwin finally starting to live up to his hype.

MVG averaged 98+ so he was certainly playing out of his skin, and has been for a few months now.

  10. He was certainly worse than Chizzy, Last night?

He was worse than Andy Jenkins in the Grand Slam of Darts and still went onto win the tournament. He's still the best player in the world, which is why now he's out, suddenly people are saying the field is wide open.

Have you not bigged up Nicholson in one of your posts & wrote him off in another?

I haven't written him off though, have I? I've said I wouldn't be surprised if he went out to Huybrechts. I wouldn't be surprised if Nicholson won either. It's a close one to call, as both are clearly pretty good.

What I came on to say is this though... the crowd. This tourney more than ever, they are just ridiculous. They don't give a fuck about ANYTHING that's going on. That performance from Jenkins especially was a cracker, and it was just getting shat on completely. They were the same for Lewis/Jones too. Aye, the match featuring the champ.

    Ugh. Fucking morons.

  11. Chessy?

Taylor was the way he was this time last year, and that made him beatable. He is not, however, worse than Chisnall, or anyone else for that matter.

But i cant see him getting by Anderson/Wade or maybe Jackpot?

Well, Wade and Anderson certainly have the game on a consistant basis. Wade needs to lift it just a tad I feel, but he's shown he can when he has to. Nicholson can as well though. There's a few players left that have the game to go far. And Nicholson has a real problem in the next round anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if Huybrechts, who gave Taylor a game when he was at his absolute best, walked through Nicholson and won the whole fucking thing!

  12. He is only half as good as he would let you believe.

Is he half as good as the major trophy and two TV wins over Taylor would have you believe as well? As well as this mauling he's handing out to Tabern?

He's a terrific player. On a par with Taylor? Well... no. But who is?
