Although this is  very much reading between the lines, it's almost like the mentality is "well I wouldn't shag her, so why would we put her on the main roster?"

Ah shit is that not okay nowadays!? ;) kidding obv

Muta and The Real Gay (who also had a tag partner Hard Gay) vs Tajiri (who's character seems to have special needs) and Yinling the Erotic Terrorist. The whole promotion was mental not just the storyline or the match.

Muta spits mist between Yinling's legs, she gets pregnant and gives birth to an egg. Inside the egg is Akebono.

This kind of explains it. But I've seen better videos on it but that was a while ago.

Omg that is amazing. I laughed when you posted it thinking you were joking. Absolutely mental and makes the Mae Young hand birthing video look like high-end serious drama!

  3. I loved many of those shows back in the day and I will always appreciate 1PW getting Bret over for one of his first signing dates in the UK. I didn't really have many shows where talent DNAd.

I wasn't big on the online shit etc that was going on, so I was purely a fan of them getting names over to wrestle.

However, the moment he fucked up Muta coming in he lost my interest. The fact RPW had to pick up the date on that was a blessing as it was local to me. Though Stone v Muta was hardly breathtaking.

While he won't have personally signed the deal, I think anyone helping to lead the company into the blood money era would be someone I'd struggle to describe as a decent guy. Nobody held a gun to his head.

And that's why we are on an online wrestling forum and his family are sitting on a billion dollar company. You don't get to the top being nice and moralistic. Its why companies are often headed by antisocial types (diagnostically not personally)

  5. For all the shit he did over the years he was brilliant when he could be bothered. My favorite moments of his career include:

Vs Rock at Backlash 00, just so great! And the ladder match at SummerSlam 98.

Vs Jericho including Fully Loaded 00 and that phantom title win.

Vs Benoit Vs Michaels both times, just great matches.

Putting over Batista strong in ?05, especially that HiaC.

Anything w Foley  particularly the classic at RR00

Say what you will but he clearly loved the industry and the passion and dedication he showed was phenomenal. Of course he will always be seen as a class below Michaels et al because he was solid but far from a consistent  5* show stealer. I think he is one of all time great heels ever though.

Good luck to him. W 20 years of damage to his body, he deserves a rrest.at the end it seemed like he genuinely cared about the youngsters.

On a side note, does anyone wonder if the heart issue was roid related? They wouldn't admit it but surely a genetic thing would have been picked up in the years of medicals he'd have had (general ones and those for his surgeries)?

This has tickled me more than it should. Up there with Pete Gas at Royal Rumble 2000.

What happened. It looked like he got his arm over the rope. I suppose not. Lucky he didn't have a major injury.

  7. When you see stuff like this you wonder if Vince is playing a bumbling fool on TV for show. That said he still looks like a melted waxwork that's been stabbed by a toddler. He was lucid and clear headed it seemed.

I'm just surprised he isn't dead yet. He had clearly abused roads for years and I expected him to have a huge heart attack about 10 years ago. I suspect we will all be dead and he will still be powering through on 2 hours a night.

Wtf has happened to his voice? It's like he has the WREESSTTLLEEMMAANNIIA voice constantly. He should get that checked out!

McAfee needs to calm the fuck down though. Relax!!! I don't watch the product anymore so I haven't really seen him.

My "obviously" or "basically" is saying "if that makes sense" after I've explained something. I know I do it, can't stop it. I had a colleague who did, "if you know what I mean" at the end of almost every sentence. My other half's is, "from that perspective", especially when she's at work.

I did a podcast a few years ago, and hearing back all the repetition of the same few words when others would do was the most mortifying part of it all. But that's just how normal speech works.

Written communication, you'll be surprised to hear, I just pad out unnecessarily. So I'm guilty of all the bad habits of email - "just", "would you mind", all those weaselly little extra turns of phrase. But I always worry that if I only say what I mean it would just be one line, and that it would come across as too blunt, so I go too far in the other direction.

I tend to fill speech with "right?" to make sure people are getting me. I also write excessively long sentences with a huge number of commas. It's how I speak (suspected ADHD here) so I could easily go 5 lines without a break.

I'm the opposite re emails though and have been seen as rude or abrupt. If someone asks something I'll normally respond "yes" or "no" with little niceties. For example someone asked if I could give them a time frame for completion of a task recently. My response? "No". That wasn't.  Same as going straight in w a request. "Please can you do X, thanks".

I've gotta better over time though my patience isn't all that great!

  9. Also restaurants that add a service charge and you don't know til you get the bill. I decline on principle. Its rude and makes an assumption you did a good job. If they try to sneak it in there it's even worse.

  10. David Walliams - his faux camp gimmick is tiresome and as a gay person I find it bordering on offensive

Amanda Holden - no idea why. I am sure she is very nice. But her face just irritates me. Completely unfounded!

Shocked-at-kick-out wrestling faces - yes we know you are shocked that a person kicked out but does every match need these facials.

Long, drawn out pauses before announcing the winner on a TV talent show. Just tell us ffs!

Sob stories on TV talent shows.its ok in moderation but way too frequent. Especially when Holden et al have to try prising out tears.

Comedy on TV - so little variety in terms of politics, just the same rather dull leftist rhetoric. Nobody is original anymore. Bring back Tommy Cooper, Billy Connelly et al!

The scum on top of over-brewed tea.

Food selfies... just eat the fuckin thing!

Recycling requirements being too convoluted. I recycle, alot. But asking me to be a dishwasher for bloody tin cans is just ludicrous. I wash up more packaging than actual plates and cutlery!

That fucker at the dump who wants me to fuck around taking metal rods off of wooden items before I put them in the tip (like draws from cupboards etc).

People saying I look healthy. I know it means fat!

Those away days where you have to say something nice about a colleague. I don't know any of these people! So I end up saying "I appreciate your thoughtfulness" or some other generic crap. And the worse is that we both know its BS.

On the topic of work, people leaving and saying they will keep in touch. No you won't, and that's okay!

I'm in one of those moods! I'm not a miserable c**t. Honest

Make your mind up, literally 2 posts before this you say the opposite

I'm talking the 70s and and 80s in the initial post. It's gotten worse since 1998. The difference now is talent take time off if concussed etc.

We probably seen more people work hurt in the past than what we do now where it’s more acceptable to say you are hurt and get pulled. I don’t see anyone in the state say a kurt angle was for most of his post wwe run.

I think you're right. If they were pressured to power through like Edge or Angle back in the late 90s and 2000s most would be in wheelchairs now.

  13. I think that they need to really scale back much of the shit they do. Guys are having shorter careers and many more injuries than ever before. That's not to say that would equal entertaining matches as our attention spans have decreased in the past 30 years. I am all for longer careers and healthier retirements for guys. We don't need to go back to the 80s steroids and heart attacks. Just get a middle ground.

    Ooooh 😔😬😵😮😩

I'm rather liberal when it comes to giving people the benefit of the doubt. But there's no getting away from how sinister that looks. The fact he talks like it's their little secret screams abuser. Every time I hear "let's keep this to ourselves" in this context it makes me feel queasy!

Is there anything more fast forward than MJF? He's coming out, you know it's just going to be a load of talking. I fast forward him every week. Wrestles about 6 times a year too. I literally can't stand him.

Whilst I disagree, I also acknowledge that his schtick is formulaic. I guess you could say similar about Hogan,  Flair and Rock, though it does feel like a similar promo every time.

Personally I've liked his interactions w Punk in pparticular.they need to use him more. Though I haven't seen particularly brilliant matches from him, but maybe itscos I only watch dynamite as I don't pay for PPVs.

While searching for handhelds I came across this tag I’d obviously seen at the time but forgotten. From an Oct 95 Superstars, Razor & Kid who have been chasing the tag belts vs recently dethroned Owen & Yoko. At 12 minutes including entrances it’s a perfect 90s WWF snack.

You don't get crowds or tag team matches like that anymore. Love it. Kid brings this wreckless energy that few can match now. It's a fight! Simple, safe moves, hot crowd and a simple finish. No 267284848 kickouts of finishers nor anyone doing stupid shit or bending an arm or leg the wrong way. So for me... Good wrestling!

Could I have an example of a far left policy or position adopted by Corbyn plz?

Sadly giving free broadband, throwing money around for welfare and republicanism (he dislikes the whole concept of the monarchy etc) seem far left for many in the UK. His whole message was that the average person needed fragilising and looking after against the evil corporate elite. I don't believe most people want to be told they are hard done by. At least not in my area. That said, i live in a heavily conservative area, where anything less than shooting the dinghies of migrants is seen as too far left! So I suspect my view is skewed. But that was message people i know got from his campaign.  He needed to be far more centre than he was, I'm rhetoric if not manifesto.

Personally I voted for him, but I think the England is rather centre right and won't ever abide a truly socialist government. Which is bizarre as the NHS was built on socialist principles.

Then again I'm someone who doesn't demonise Blair and Brown as much as others may.

This isn't a debate, just a curious question.

  18. Straight forward question...

Who do you typically vote for and what makes you vote for them?

I have always been a Labour voter and it would take a miracle for me to ever vote for the Tories.

Why? I work for the NHS. They have systemically fucked the system for the last 10+ years and now have the gall of telling us we must "save" the NHS. I simply cannot trust the Tories with my career/future.

I also strongly believe in looking after people in society who aren't able to do so themselves. That's not to say that I believe in taking responsibility from the individual.

I would actually be closer to the Lib Dems but they aren't ever going to get into power on their own.

I do feel its extremely disappointing that Corbyn and Blair have essentially screwed the Labour Party for a generation. Blair dismantled much of the unwritten constitutional frameworks of the UK whilst in power (for more info read The Allure of Power by Bennet which covers this in depth and is fantastic). Then Corbyn went in so far left that he alienated the average person in the UK.

I am personally repulsed by the Tories; made even worse by the self-serving Johnson who has no morals and believes he is entitled to his position. I find the whole bunch vile.

    So which and why?

Watching the Reigns V Owens cage match from this week's Smackdown reminds me of an annoyance of mine:  Being able to win a cage match by going through the door.

The moment a door is opened in a cage match and a competitor takes an unfeasibly long time to walk towards and out of the door instantly kills all suspension of disbelief and thus enjoyment of a match.

The only benefit I can think of for the cage door being in play is the spot of slamming it into someone's head, but its done every cage match now to the point of having no meaning.

The only exception to this I feel is Bret v Owen at Summerslam where they were proper fighting to get out. But I agree.
