Does anyone know if there is any policy around signs for tomorrow? I'm taking my niece and nephews and they want to make a few signs...

The general policy is if you bring a sign and hold it up in front of someone you're pretty awful as a human being.

I don't know about the venue rules, though I've been to a few shows and some twat has put a sign up through the show and ruined the whole night.

That's just my view though. That said taking your siblings kids is cool, wish more uncles and aunts would do it. :)

The Double or Nothing 2021 entrance of Moxley and Kingston popped up on my timeline today. Still my favourite entrance of all time. Eddie Kingston getting his first taste of how much everyone had fallen in love with him during the pandemic. Moxley losing his mind, getting lost, nearly running over a kid. Kingston laughing his arse off and grinning ear to ear.

It might be beat this weekend. These great, great men are going to have over 80,000 people reacting to them. Kingston especially. No man deserves it more. Goosebumps.

What's the interest about w Kingston? I've not seen alot of him, though he looks like some big fat bloke who lives next door. What's the attraction?

No harm in hearing the arguments of people who’s views differ, I listen to a lotta political podcasts that have a lot of Tories on them, I’ll never agree but you can’t have a discussion just shouting how your view is right

Groundbreaking!!!! Hearing other views and being nuanced!?!?! Madness in 2023!!! ;)

I'm surprised we don't seem to be getting a Casino Rumble thing to chuck load of bodies on the card. I can see a fair few pissed off wrestlers if they don't at least get a pre show match and Cole and MJF do.

From Khan's perspective I'm not surprised. The thing is going to cost a fortune (yes he is making a shit tonne off it). He has to buy plane tickets etc to get these guys over here I'm assuming (unless private jet?).

  5. FFS one of the few matches I was interested in, and Wheeler does something so fucking stupid!

I will be surprised if he is allowed into the UK with that on his sheet. If Hardy had issues getting in following DUIs I can only imagine the UK authorities raising an eyebrow at Wheeler entering so soon after this mess.

With Danielson potentially out, PAC definitely out and Omega in a six man, Khan better do something to make this into a positive. What a shitshow!

As someone else said, all we need is Cole to break a leg in the pre-show and Khan may lose his shit, run out, do a Russo (circa Bash at the Beach 2000) and throw himself off the balcony whilst coked out of his tiny mind.

On the plus side, that would certainly have some entertainment value.

It goes to show. You can be hot af and end up looking like someone's gran. And probably will.

Shit she is only 50! She looks at least 60. It's the grey hair I think.

  7. What concerns me about...

    Spoiler

Stadium Stampede is that we are going to be sitting there looking at screens for HALF AN HOUR and not be able to see anything happening live in front of us. That works on TV but when you've paid a fair whack for tickets, the last thing you want is to stare at screens for 30+ minutes. That said, at least we haven't got Summer Slam 1996 TVs situated around the ring! I'd have booked it as a no-DQ 6 man, much easier to follow and they could keep it in the ringside area.

On its own, that was an enjoyable episode of wrestling. In the wider scheme of things that was an absolute bonkers mess. I'll post more thoughts later but my main 2 takeaways:

    1) Fuck the fuck off with a Will Ospreay singles match on their biggest show ever. Against Jericho no less! Meanwhile the best singles wrestler on the planet and two former World Champions are in a meaningless thrown together 6 man. ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT NONSENSE.

    2) three mystery men for Stadium Stampede is hilariously insane. I can't really think of 3 natural candidates for this. The only people who would get me excited for this that I can think of are Santana and Ortiz.

You just know Khan will misread this and think we want a load of British wrestlers in there. I can imagine him getting Regal in, Davey Boy Smith Jr and bloody Nick Aldis!

I'm less bothered by Ospreay though it sure isn't the match that I'd have put him in.

I am astounded that they have Omega, White, Ibushi and Robinson all taken up with a tag match. Hell, give me Omega vs White if you have to!

I'm a tad irritated at the lack of build and announcements and I'm just a fan. I can imagine how furious the talent are re lack of into on this. Its their biggest show and Khan has proven how inept he is at managing these bigger things. He needs to get it sorted and out there. Yes there will be injuries that change plans, but he would have booked wembley a year out, so it's not like he didn't know it was going to happen.

He shouldn't rely on PPV buys being strong just because of the venue and crowd size. He has to give people a reason to invest in it and the apparent lack of direction and/or focus on this is staggering. It should have been THE show in Khan's mind for months, not hmming and aahhhing with just over a week til the event.

    Spoiler

Khan just puked out a Stadium Stampede Match with seemingly every fucker on the roster. Lets just hope we can see half the action in the stands.

I'd personally have used at least 4 of those guys in other marquee matches.

OK bad wording. - match finishes in dodgy fashion so the two get all shooty after the match and match gets made for All Out

Sounds awful. If they are going to do that match it needs a proper finish. Wembley mustn't be a set up for a smaller show imo.

Really hope this event is mic'd right. Stadium shows on telly often lose a large chunk of the crowd noise, hopefully they will account for this and make sure they capture the audience properly.

But considering AEW's production team these days are pretty ropey I'm not confident they will.

I just hope they mic the ring right! I went to a WWE show once and you couldn't hear the bumps at the back. And that was only about 6,000 people. It was like watching wrestling with hear plugs in.

My real take on this is, if everything is as it seems, Punk might not be very bright.

One slightly snide, petty promo jizzed out about Hangman without thinking and within a few days his reputation (or whatever was left of it) has been absolutely dragged from every angle and Hangman is saying “karma is my kink” on Instagram before half the stories broke.

He may have learnt a lesson that, in 2023, the people he hates are better connected, more well liked and in a position to bring a bazooka to a knife fight.

So, I go back to my original point, shutting up and going back to work are probably the best options right now. If you can’t make friends, just work your shows, leave it, and stop making liking wrestling so needlessly dramatic and exhausting.

I think that's the point. He thrives on drama. His life doesn't seem complete without having some grudge or conflict. The chip on his shoulder is astounding.

  14. This twat needs binning off by Khan. Nobody is worth the headache Punk gives him. I'd tell him to grow up, get a grip or fuck off home. They don't need the teenage bullshit in the back.

Sounds like his ego is as fragile as his chin.

Khan risks alienating half the roster keeping him on. Either get him to stop the nonsense or job him out and off TV. If he refuses then do him for breach of contract.

    After wembley obv.

Punks never seen a bandwagon he doesn’t like to jump on to try and act the good guy. See the actors strike shirt this week. Never hear of him wanting unionisation in wrestling since he started making main event money tho.  Funny that

I've always found him a tad unpleasant, underneath he seems a bitter, angry, resentful person. The type that you've got to tread eggshells around for fear of him throwing a strop.

I didn't know he is a bandwagon hopper though.

    Anyway, sorry for OT.

  16. I think the lack of "wow" matches is a good indication of the weakness in AEW. I love the product at the moment, having recently gotten back into it. That said, there is a serious lack of "name" talent that would feel like a big time program or match.

I'm up for cole v MJF, though I'd not say that is some dream match. You'd probably see it on RAW if both worked for WWE. You have Jericho, Omega, Punk and one or two other stars, yet I can't think of an AEW roster match I'd die to watch.

It's a shame they haven't got some of the bigger talents from NJPW. I know it's not feasible though their guys would guarantee a classic. I can only imagine Omega v Okada (?4) at Wembley. THAT has a big match feel for me, though I admit I'm not their audience really (NJPW fan here). Ospreay vs Omega would have been THE match for me, if NJPW wasn't taking the rubber match. That's the kind of match this show ideally needs.

Again, that's where AEW has a weakness. Their top of card is often rather bleurgh for me. Never been a Moxley fan, Jericho is past his best, i dont buy Cole as a main eventer at all, MJF is fine but that's all...fine.

AEW need to make big stars, quickly. There is no reason they couldn't create a Lesnar, Goldberg, Reigns type star  someone who draws just based on their name. I just don't think they have the talent to do it. Which is astounding given the money and resources they have.

I'm going and I am sure it'll be a great evening. I like what they have put together so far, just need that big match feel...one match.

If they don't put on Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst V Brian May and Roger Taylor AEW don't deserve Wembley.

Or Dan Wootton and Laurence Fox vs Gary Glitter and Stanley Johnson in a "Jimmy Saville's dead corpse on a pole" match
