  1. Been announced by Regal that the Tyler Bate/Mark Andrews match for the Wrestlecon show will now have the WWE UK title on the line, making history as the first male title to ever be defended outside the company and the first period since Alundra Blayze faced Bull Nakano in Japan for the Women's title in 1994

  2. Was you expecting them to be anything else?

Nope had sneaking suspicion it'd be a cheap product like the rehashed cereal. Can imagine most would expect an ice cream bar or something on a stick. Noticed via someone I follow on Instagram that they've also brought out rainbow lolly pops repackaged as unicorn horns

  3. Really enjoying watching the older episodes of NXT, just up to the second week of the title tournament. The only thing that's a bit grating is the constant swapping on and out of the commentary team, one match it's Saxton and Regal the next JR joins them then it goes back to a two man booth

It's interesting seeing some of the talent back then compared to now, such as Rollins doing that goofy mosh pit dancing in his entrance, Breeze under his old name of Mike Dalton, EC3 and Fandango under their old gimmicks and the beginnings of Big E and Wyatt

  4. Never been more pissed off reading someones posts on here, any other forums I post on or social media more than them from ShaneApollo tonight. If it was in a public place I'd have no issues dimming his lights, who the fuck is he to tell someone how to fucking grieve? When my dad passed away last March I almost shut down and just wanted the whole thing to be a nightmare to wake up from, the next day I put out a tweet about his passing which led to my work mates contacting me via Twitter and by text offering condolences, exactly what has happened with Mr Ross from all forms of the industry, which gave me some comfort even though I was heartbroken and when I eventually went back to work over the Easter weekend, not a single one sugarcoated things with me or took pity on me they just let me get back to normality

  5. The thing that really cracks me up is him saying Kofi Kingston doesn't belong on TV, this the same Kofi who has been a regular on WWE programming since the ECW revival in 2006/07, a full decade give or take, when he could have easily bombed in his early days with the Jamaican gimmick. A guy who is both great in the ring and has charisma on the mic when fired up, as shown in his feud with Orton back in 09, doesn't belong on TV but in this loons eyes someone like a Kane or Big Show does because they look like a wrestler to the casual. Fuck that, I've suffered 26 years of watching lumbering shitehawks on my TV in the hope of seeing a Bret Hart match or a Shawn Michaels match, actual wrestlers who kept me entertained and coming back for more the same way the likes of Kofi, Sami Zayn, Nakamura, AJ Styles, KO etc do in the modern era

  6. I'm doing the Manias in chronological order and really only 2 and 4 have felt like utter chores so far. What I've liked about watching through them is seeing gaps filled in from where they were edited for VHS release and music restorations, couple of examples being 'American Dream' being restored for Dusty and Sapphire's entrance at Wrestlemania 6 instead of the Wheel of Fortune theme being dubbed in as well as Piledriver being used for Koko B Ware's entrances at the earlier shows before he changed to Bird Man with examples of extra stuff put back in including Hacksaw's entrance at WM7 to do commentary on the opener, the bit by Gorilla on what's still to come either just before or just after the Warrior/Savage match and Power and Glory getting a proper introduction before their match with the Road Warriors (on the edited version it goes straight to the Roadie's entrance after Hawk's 'Oh What A Rush' in the backstage interview)

Unfortunately I've just come to the piss poor WM9, started by the admittedly decent IC title match between HBK and Tatanka

  7. Pleasing to know that I'm not the only one who much prefers Rosanna to Patricia. I mean, it's not even close in my book.

Not seen many recent pics of either but I did have a crush on Patricia when I was younger based on watching Dream Warriors on repeat every weekend seemingly for two months straight on Bravo

Just got done watching Wolf of Wall Street barely a half hour ago, how its taken me so long to watch it I don't know but I really enjoyed it in spite of its length. DiCaprio is brilliantly hammy during the scenes where his smacked off his tits on various substances, particularly the scene where he takes the LLemon with Jonah Hill's character and it kicks in while he's on the pay phone at the country club

  8. So finally got round to watching a few 30 for 30 documentaries over the course of this afternoon into the evening

Started with Small Potatoes : Who Killed the USFL? When I saw this title, I initially expected it to be about one of the failed attempts to make football a thing in the US before the MLS came around but was actually about the 3 season American Football league in the early to mid 80s that was played during the spring. Very interesting especially once a certain racist current President got involved.

Next up I watched June 17th 1994 the infamous day where the opening ceremony of the 1994 World Cup, Arnold Palmer playing in his final US Open, Game 5 of the NBA finals between the Knicks and the Rockets and the Stanley Cup celebrations by the NY Rangers were all overshadowed by the OJ Simpson car chase

After that I watched Tim Richmond : To The Limit about the life of the NASCAR driver and how it was cut tragically short due to AIDS aged just 34. This was incredible just for the moment they talk about his attempted comeback after his diagnosis and the stigmata attached to it at that time

Next was The Day The Series Stopped which chronicled the events that occurred before, during and after a devastating earthquake hit San Francisco delaying game 3 of the 1989 baseball World Series between the Giants and the Oakland Athletics. This was the most emotional of the five that I watched, seriously powerful viewing

And finally I watched one of the most recent episodes This Was The XFL which doesn't need much explaination. What I found the most interesting parts of this was the sheer panic of the networks when the Jennifer Lopez episode of SNL had to be held back because of the XFL game airing before it going into double overtime and Vince's appearance on Bob Costas' HBO show

  9. It's a forum, you speak your opinion. You don't write fucking essays that are more at home on blog sites or in newspapers that bore people to tears with ridiculously dated stereotyping. The wrestling business has changed for the better, women are taken more seriously for what they do IN the ring not how they look in and out of it and the male wrestlers are less reliant on enhancements meaning they are more likely to live longer lives than those that came before them

  10. I mentioned in the stupid purchases thread that I am back reading comics on a regular basis (well have been for a couple of years with various graphic novels), focusing on a couple of series, the main one being the Power Rangers series by Boom! which has been a fantastic read thus far, the crux of the story is a new modern take on the events post Green With Evil from the original TV show but introducing new elements to the mythos. It span off into a 6 issue side arc based around the original Pink ranger Kimberley in a new timeline after she leaves the show to be a pro gymnast in season 3. It's now gone even further as Boom! have partnered with DC for a six issue crossover with the Justice League, the second issue of which came out last week

Boom! have also got a WWE comic series out, the story of which is set after the Rollins turn on the Shield, started in a one shot called Then, Now and Forever which had a back story to the turn, into him winning MITB and cashing in at Mania in issue one, issue two comes out tomorrow

  11. Faking a death by any means is abhorrent but seeing what my aunt went through 20 years, when my family were trying to hide the truth from us kids to protect us, then seeing through adult eyes my dad become a shell of a man less than 24 hours before he passed because the combination of the effects of chemotherapy and the infection taking hold and leaving him grey and barely able to talk, hits harder when I comes to reading about people's cancer battles

  12.

The only other thing that annoyed me was Alexa Bliss losing her belt, because she's Alexa Bliss and she has to stop doing that in ring belt pose with the filthy wink. Shame. I like Naomi, though. Her Joel Schumacher directed entrance was brilliant when I watched Smackdown at the Hydro; made her stand out from everyone else on the show. "You deserve it".

She'll just go back to the feather stick until she wins the title back

  13. Sad to admit, I watched the whole series as Total Divas/Bellas is one of my guilty pleasure shows and I thought it'd be along the same lines but it is god awful, Colette's doll fetish and obsession with making Noelle just like her makes Natayla and her crazy cat lady issues on TD look normal, Mick is Mick, Mickey and the other brother are annoying brats, Noelle doesn't seem to have the fitness levels to be a wrestler and poor Dewey seems to be the only level headed one in the entire family

The problem is they need stuff like this, Swerved, Camp WWE and the like to keep things fresh. I'd rather they keep a regular flow of stuff like Ride Along, Table for 3 and Story Time, 15-20 min fillers to pass time or upload more older content like Superstars, Heat and Thunder to fill in gaps on storylines if people are running through periods of shows/PPVs
