He fought in UFC, that makes him a UFC fighter.

I was in the same nightclub as Page 3 model Jakki Degg once

Does this mean I've partied with a Page 3 model then?

  2. The thing with the Tony and what he should do is Tony wants to be everyones mate and while quite a few will like that considering the "walking on egg shells" culture in WWE, some will take advantage of that.

Tony need to be a cunt, I'd be willing to bet that the locker room are on the Elite's side here and maybe TK needs to take note of that.

  3. Stardom faction history being mentioned on a WWE broadcast? Kevin Dunn probably had a stroke in the production truck when that happened

Nice to see Adrian Street make an appearance. His face run when watching Continental Wrestling archives kept me borderline sane during lockdown 3.0

Liv Morgan with the blue Women's belt feels like CM Punks first title World Title reign in WWE. Made some of the fan base happy but we all know deep down they are nowhere the biggest star in the company

This Dominick heel turn needs to end up with him being Rheas sub.

The fact that I'm happy Seth "trys to freakin hard" Rollins beat Matt Riddle tells you how much I despise that rapey twat.

Loved the Broken Dreams bit. Actual main event would probably be better if I watch it again at 1.25 speed.

Am I the only person who thinks Kevin Dunn left the tapes running after the main event as revenge for the Mio Shirai mention.

People who think Tyson Fury is charismatic have never watched wrestling for more than an hour. The World's most boring priest from Father Ted has more charisma than that dullard.

  4. I'm not sure the backstage stuff is the reason for the improvement which is slight.

Lack of pop for Acclaimed talent meeting shows that the majority of fans aren't living on twitter needing to know what happens backstage.

Stars brings the fans in, good stories keep them

  5. There's a lot of bad faith criticism of AEW not only on here but on social media platforms. It's not weird WWE stans on here but there are people on UKFF who if Kevin Nash was made world champ and reign for 2 years and the show was 2 hrs of people eating chippy tea then certain people on here would go "that's a bit shit"

FWIW I thought it was a really great go home show which has been something Tony has been weak at booking go home shows especially in August when he's dealing with transfer windows and the NFL pre-season.

  6. This weekend  the commentators talk about Grizzly Smith in a positive light, Tryus is in the main event, Flip Gordon is the guy that faces the "face" of the NWA

    Never change National Wrestling Alliance

  7. Mox vs Punk was perfect

Going on at the start of hour 2 which must of got some people asking "are they going an hour"

The injury coming so early made sense, Punk is back too early. Having him go down 15 minutes made no sense. The first moment the ankle got tested it failed him and a Mox in his prime runs him over. Then a heartbroken Punk looking back to Mox looking distraught whispering something to his best friend.

That was certainly miles better than anyothing suggested on here.

Now let's hope they don't spoil it all by doing something stupid like doing Punk-Mox 2 at All Out and Punk wins the belt back.

Going to be shown on BT Sport 2 instead of Box Office, so effectively "free" if you have BT

I really hope its Darren Fletcher and Steve McManaman on commentary

"Ah, Fletch, I can't believe Seth Rollins is wearing that outfit Fletch"

"Let's bring in Peter Walton for a moment, should the referee have seen the New Day tag there?"

"Gunther with the pin on Sheamus,  Gunther 1 Sheamus 0"

Ha, didn't Misawa wrestle at some tiny shit holes when he was over for one of those shows?

That should be on the tourist poster for Coventry

Those who use the term "mark' when talking about wrestling fans are worse than fucking marks.

I actually hate the word mark but this crapfest and the fucking people that enabled it annoyed me so much and I can't think of a word other than mark to describe these idiots

Maybe the video would help but I find Nash's podcast way too slow. I had to take my phone out during a walk on more than one occasion during the first episode to make sure it was actually still playing, because he tends to gather his thoughts a lot. A bit of pre-game wine and medicinal, perhaps, for Big Sexy. I'll probably give it another shot though.

I was never into Lapsed Fan due to the way it could stop in its tracks for an hour at a time when they enjoyed their own routines but I found this playlist last night and really enjoyed having it on in the background during work today. Meltzer's got a largely reliable memory and is still a very good authority to listen to when he's kept on track. It's essentially just 15-30 minutes each week of him doing a retrospective on the business around each WrestleMania:

One thing that stood out for me in one of the later episodes is Dave properly went for there being bad blood between Rock & Cena initially. Maybe Rock felt a bit of hurt on his side, but I think John's far too clever and far too sympathetic to extending your whims beyond the WWE to have actually been shitting on Rock for bunking them to go and do the movies. Cena was always working, I think, there.

I'll probably give Lapsed Fan another chance. It's just one of those things I'm dying to have click for me so I'll have so much new content to enjoy.

I just can't listen to Lapsed Fan after the Benoit episode. Their outbursts of disgust came across as fake.

    "and then Benoit did this"

    Co-host: "Oh my god"

Just took me out of the listening experience

For all the robotic nature of WWE and the commentary etc, this is nice to see:

I do admire his professionalism and that he's still passionate about what he does.

From what he's said in recent times, a lot of that is down to working with Pat too.

If I no longer had to work with Corey Graves I'd start enjoying my work again

I imagine it sounds better to say its from an "arena", though there's a local working men's club that used to put on wrestling near me that calls their function room an arena too, so maybe they could have used that.

They only ever had tickets available in five blocks out of 19 so were never expecting to sell the often quoted 10,000 (I'm not sure if 10k is the seated capacity, or if that's when people are standing on the ground level for a music gig).

It's not like in the original plan, they got a cheap deal because Nottingham arena wasn't being used. They bumped a James Bond orchestral thing from that date to make way for WES which then got postponed. I don't see what the mad panic was to get that date when they clearly weren't (still aren't) ready.

They could have gone to the SkyDome Arena in Coventry or Planet Ice in Milton Keynes if they wanted the Arena name.

The moment Nottingham Arena was announced everybody in the Internet community got 5 Star Wrestling flashbacks and the WWE fans that L.O.P were counting on have proved to be no one but WWE merchants in the last 2-3 years so this was never going to stand a chance.
