Just in case someone, somewhere hasn't seen the Ahsoka teaser from celebration.

The bigger news in this house though is that trailer for volume 2 of Visions. Volume 1 is  my daughter's favourite Star Wars and she absolutely loves Cartoon Saloon's stuff so we're very hyped for that. Also my wife being a proper 90's teen cackled with glee at the Aardman stuff. She's a sucker for a Star Wars critter so seeing them in lovely plasticine really hit the spot.

Back to the Ahsoka teaser though, as someone who watched Rebels it's really cool to see that Filoni is continuing the stories that he established on that show. I've not minded this season of Mando, it's felt like a broadening of the canvas and frankly I quite like that it's felt daft and wobbly. I'm not really into the Andor/Rogue 1 stuff. I want my Star Wars with Silly Jet Pack People and Space Wizards, so the Filoni shows are definitely more my jam.

  2. I thought the idea of running Craven Cottage was a bit mad, but at least it wouldn't have cost the company that much.

This is fucking mental. Like Wrestlemania 1 levels of rolling the dice.

    Mad twat.

Is she still involved/employed by a wrestling company? Or out of the industry now?

Works backstage for AEW and is at least partially responsible for running their female focussed Heels community.

  4. I love proper Matinée style popcorn flicks and as such Dungeons and Dragons will probably be my favourite thing I see at the cinema this year.

It also really helped my little girl deal with some anxieties she's been suffering with recently so it gets a double thumbs up.

  5. I watched the Chris Brookes and Yoshihiko Vs Two Lads who looked like Bad boy Dragon Gate Heels from this weekends DDT show and absolutely laughed me head off all match.

I'd love that on Rampage purely because I think it might make Jim Ross actually quit.

According to Wade Keller, the following don't like him or want him back: Mox, Hangman, the Bucks, Omega, Jericho and MJF.

There's so much bullshit floating around with this though it's kind of frustrating we're unlikely to get the truth.

That's a list of everyone he's likely to feud with though, innit?

Come on, man - you're basing this view on two promos? He's cut plenty of them since rejoining WWE, but regardless, his mission statement on joining the company was to win the one title that his dad could not, so it's not like the references are irrelevant.

I don't watch WWE and I have an outsize disdain for the toothbrush headed bawbag. The two segments I watched were the ones where people were acting like these were all timer promos, Raw after Mania last year and that one with Heyman from a few weeks back. It was just standard Cody stuff all misty eyed faux stammering and constant references to his Dad.

Everything I've seen with Cody that's ever hit has relied heavily on his Dad or family. The Aldiss match at All-In was built on Cody coming for the belt that his Daddy was synonymous with and his best match in AEW was with his own (much better) brother.

Without that emotional crutch he flounders badly. The build to his match with MJF was great but it was wasted on a match that remains MJF's only real high profile clunker. On top of that he was fucking shocking in his NJPW run, being the only person I've seen have bad matches with both Omega and Ibushi separately and, quite impressively in a 3 way.

He might have found his niche, and if people are into him, fine I guess but he got in on Dusty's name, yeah that might not have been a boon in his first run but outside of Vince's WWE it provided collateral he simply didn't have himself and now with HHH at the helm, who let's face it was much more predisposed towards Dusty than Vince was, it's certainly not doing him any harm.

In summary, I dislike Cody Rhodes and am unlikely to change my mind on the shit plastic dullard.

  8. The American Nightmare character has always traded off the name. The amount of Cody promo's that take 15 minutes to say fuck all because he has to do the thing where he brings up his Dad's name and then has to pause to look at the crowd who are chanting, 'Dusty' for 5 minutes and then his voice breaks and he sheds a single tear and then he gets all shouty and inspirational................

    Get fucked.

Even the two promo's  I've seen him do in WWE since he came back traded on Dusty's name.

I don't like Randy Orton but at least when he's either good or shit, he's doing it largely on his own terms.

Think I boycotted this thread when it was going, so I've got limited resources to gloat with, but really, I'm just glad you've all come around.

Never, I'll never come round to that pigeon legged, Nepo-Baby shitarse. If anything I'm glad he's doing well in WWE because it means I'll never have to watch another rote shortcut laden Cody match or listen to another promo where he uses his Dad's memory to get support he can't get himself.

And yes, I only came on this thread to put the boot in. I'm frankly disappointed with the rest of you.

  10. When I used to go to punk and hardcore shows there used to be a bunch of suburban kids who'd do the whole windmill/floorpunch fake tough guy mosh pit bullshit routine. They all used to wear Earth Crisis shirts or hoodies and take themselves Very Seriously. My friend and I used to find them hilarious to the point that 'Fake Tough Guy in an Earth Crisis Hoody' became an in joke.

When I saw Punk at the TWC supershow in Coventry I laughed at loud. He was talking to fans whilst wearing an Earth Crisis hoody. There he was a literal fake tough guy in an Earth Crisis hoody. I've never shaken that. That to me kind of encapsulates who CM Punk is.

Saying that however, Punk is one of my favourite wrestlers partially because I know how I relate to that character and partially because I think he's genuinely a smart wrestler who understands that at heart he's a carny in a carny business. As far back as the Raven feud he's used his real life and the perception of himself as holier than thou as fuel for angles.

I understand the nature of this place and that I'll (probably rightly) get laughed out of town but I fully expect him back. If we know Punk's a thin skinned prick you can bet that he knows we know. Honestly, there was too much in that first run that felt like him and AEW seeding the other shoe dropping that I think Brawl Out was too convenient.

I'll be expecting him around Double or Nothing. I'm also equally prepared to eat shit on that statement.

  11. I'm feeling well sorry for myself, with you all getting 2 packets of biscuits and me only getting 1.

Of course I do realise that saying you can't find a product is very different to asking Ann to bully Tesco into ordering logs because the plebs in Home Bargains make me sad, but as you can see I'm obviously not wanting for a sense of entitlement.

  12. Guilty Gear Strive hit Game Pass yesterday and is bloody lovely. I've always been a bit intimidated by Arc System's fighting games and their systems on systems but this isn't particularly hard to get to grips with. They've made it a touch slower than some of the previous GG games and certainly the BlazBlue games I've played which helps.

On top of that it's bloody gorgeous to look at, it feels cliché to say it looks like an animé but it really does right to the fact that the story mode is basically a full feature film done in game engine. There's a ludicrous amount of lore involved but the game comes with a museum mode that teaches you the timeline and characters if you're that way inclined.

    Highly recommended.

  13. Every time I watch Rampage I'm thankful that they hoyed Jim Ross off Dynamite. He does so much to actively undermine the action in ring. It's no coincidence that I started drifting off watching Rampage when he came in.

  14. I might be the only person here that's hyped for the Iron Man match. Danielson's been my favourite wrestler for close to 20 years and I've usually been pleasantly surprised by MJF's matches in AEW, apart from his stinker with Cody early doors.

I can't help but feel Mox/Hangman is gonna be proper watch it through your fingers stuff.

Elite/HOB is basically a guaranteed barn burner despite the ropy build.

Everything else looks fun enough apart from Starks Vs Jericho but I'm sure there'll be some surprise crackers, there usually is.

  15. I sent a reply thanking Ann for taking the time it took to reply, research local retailers and send me out my lovely packet of Logs. I mentioned how it had put a smile on my daughter's face and even shared a joke about my dislike of Home Bargains, which was the subject of my initial comment.

Hopefully Ann gets a lovely warm feeling, knowing that she's doing good work.

(Hopefully I get a Tunnock's Beanie or Tea Towel!)

As an aside I only came onto this thread to mention that I'd been to a lovely artisan chocolatier that I'd seen on last week's Great British Menu. My interest in that went right out of the window at the prospect of free nostalgic treats!

  16. It looks like what I wanted, an homage to the Aki games. Even the stuff that some people have whinged about, like Molotov Cocktails, I've just taken as an homage to Def Jam: Fight for New York.

If I wanted play an AEW skinned 2K game, I could get 2K22 for less than £25 with the season pass and go ham on community content but I don't want that.

Oh, Drop it is also a fantastic game suitable for any age.

    Excellent choice.

I was considering some roll and writes and smaller games but pub being pub I'd rather get ones with plastic boards and dry wipe pens rather than sheets and pencils. I also completely forgot the name of Railroad Ink or that would have been on the list!

  18. So my new boss has decided that she wants the pub to have a board game collection and has asked me to compile a list of games for the initial buy in. She reckons we can get about £300 initially to buy stuff for a collection of Hobby Games to put behind the bar. I came up with a vague collection starter list. Have I dropped any bollocks here and have you folks got any ideas?

Azul, Ultimate Werewolf, Klask, Horrified, King of Tokyo, Fort, Unmatched, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Kingdomino or Patchwork, Sushi Go/Party/Roll.
