  1. Corenswet has the look, I've never seen him in anything but the fact they've cast Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane is about as perfect a choice as they could make.

They've got a nigh on impossible task with this though. The hardcore Snyder incels are gonna piss on anything they do sight unseen and the general audience are either tiring of the Superhero genre as a whole or have lost faith in DC as a brand because of the Snyder nonsense.

If you can judge a project on it's early decisions though, that's a winner!

  2. I think I'll always find Jay White and Juice Robinson beyond dull as singles wrestlers but fuck me if they don't work tremendously as a pairing.

Looks like Forbidden Door might be a return to form for Khan. At this rate it's gonna last about 5 hours and I reckon there's a good chance of at least 1 more match being added on Collision.

  3. How big is the board? I like the look of it but if it's not fitting on me coffee table it isn't coming into the house!

Picked up Boop! a few weeks ago. It's a two player abstract strategy game about kittens. It's surprisingly crunchy and looks really nice. The kind of game that's easy to teach but tricky to fully read. Pretty much a perfect gateway game.

I saw that Arcade Action Wrestling is on sale on the Xbox store at the moment.

I've always been curious about this one. The creation suite looks top notch for such a simple game and the gameplay looks fun enough, but it doesn't look in particularly deep. The game is on sale for 8 quid and change, which feels like a lot of it is only fun for a couple of hours. Anyone here play it?

Check the wrestling games thread in on topic.

Am I the only person looking forward to this? Yeah the graphics aren't super amazing or anything but it looks close enough to the old AKI games that I can see myself playing the hell out of it.

Nope, it's basically all I've wanted for 3 or 4 console generations.

I've been playing Arcade Action Wrestling on Switch. It's on PS4 and Steam as well. The Steam version has a creation program you can download as well, which let's you create your own wrestlers, arenas etc. They can then be downloaded on console. There's a LOT of AEW content for that. It's a pretty fun game as well. Definitely a good counterpart to something as serious as a WWE 2K game or Fire Pro. It's about £12 for the game, but the customisation thing is free.

It's what the Chikara game turned into. It's fun but ultimately really shallow. I might redownload it just as a warm up though.

Newcastle were WAY better than I expected across the season. The World Cup wasn't our friend and I'm somewhat apprehensive about what Champs League does to a club with a long history of everyone's knees falling off in the winter. But yeah, aside from having to put the cognitive dissonance helmet on every time the owners are mentioned, it's been genuinely the funnest season to be a Newcastle fan in my lifetime.

(Yes, I know about the Keegan years but frankly, at that age I was more interested in music, Playstation and wanking.)

It was a more innocent time, no need for the cognitive dissonance helmet for starters. We were also pretty much doing what everyone expected the Saudis to do and just hoying money around trying to build the funnest team to watch possible. Also at about 14 or 15 I couldn't imagine us not winning something eventually, I mean how could we not? 20 odd years of mediocrity later, I'm still not convinced we will, but fuck, it's nice watching a team give it a fucking go.

(I've also calmed down on the wanking.)

  9. Just made my second trip to Knoops. If you've never heard of it, it's a fancy chocolate drinks shop where you customise your drink by % of chocolate, flavourings, milks, marshmallows etc. It's a favourite with all the fashionable young ladies about town in Manchester so the child and I went in to lower the tone.

Anyway, it's fucking exorbitantly expensive. This time it was £11 for two small milkshakes. Last time was £6.50 for a small cocoa with ginger. I shudder at more than a tenner for two pints never mind two half pint milkshakes. Delicious though.

A fool and his money, Yadda Yadda.

Will anything change for Everton? Will this just happen again next year?

They've been stinking out the top flight for a couple of years now (yes yes, so have the team I support I know) and last year survived by 4, this year survived by 1.

With the new stadium opening soonish, relegation would've been a disaster wouldn't it? The club can't carry on like that can it.

Also, really nice to see Allardyce continue to throw his players under the bus yesterday. Just what you need to hear straight after relegation.

He may very well be right (Leeds were rancid yesterday) but don't be a complete cunt like that.

He doesn't give a fuck, probably never did when he took the job. End of the day he's laughing, half a million quid for a month's work and little damage to his already waned reputation. Looks like Casa St James' will be welcoming The Elland Wing and the gravy continues to run freely.

If he was a wrestler we'd be applauding the absolute genius of his grift. Does fuck all, gets millions. Proper worker.

  11. I genuinely believe that all this is a work, has been from the off  and will be genuinely surprised if Punk isn't standing over a battered Elite by the end of Double or Nothing and certainly no later than Forbidden Door.

Lego 2K Drive is looking like it could actually be pretty fun, it's the WWE 2K devs but they've got some people from the San Francisco Rush and Hydro Thunder games.

Yeah, but the joy of those games is the glorious track design, something that I think goes missing somewhat in open world games.

I absolutely loved this week's show from top to bottom except one moment. When OC was attacked and it was revealed to be that fucking nobody Kyle Fletcher. Classic AEW move of presenting a random guy whose barely been featured and expect you to care. Also why give this TV time to Fletcher? Imagine if the camera had panned up to reveal someone like Lance Archer or Rush instead...instant intrigue and way more exciting match-up.

Probably building towards Cassidy Vs Ospreay 2.

  14. My mate got tickets in 510 which are upper tier east stand. Upside is because the tickets are less than half what we were after, he's just bought mine and won't give me his details to pay him back.

  15. Hipster favourites Torres do a Fried Egg flavour crisp, which was mentioned a fair few pages back. They're incredibly morish but I ate a whole bag and couldn't decide how much I liked them.

My wife however was livid that I spent best part of a fiver on, "........a bag of farts...".

  16. I've mentioned before how I grew up in a split allegiances house with  Dad and I being Mags and my brother and sister supporting Sunderland so I don't really subscribe to a lot of the local tribalism in football, especially in the North East.

Today is a pretty good day for the football so far. As exciting and hilarious as the Newcastle game was I find myself quite excited at the outside prospect of Sunderland Vs Boro as the Play-Off Final. The richest game in club football being the Tony Mowbray Derby would make me smile.

Now hopefully Brighton beat United and it'll be perfect.

    Brand Split = more titles.

    Good lord.

Why? You put the TNT and International titles on opposite shows, the Tag and Trios titles on opposite shows and the Women's and TBS titles on opposite shows with the AEW Champ flitting between the two. Job done.
