  1. With them both having money based characters, would it be a stretch to imply that this could also double as a debut for Okada as well as Mercedes?

They've done the double debut before, but would that be seen as a waste of a big pop? Would it an Okada debut be better served at Revolution? Does Kazu just fuck em off to take the 'Mania payoff and watch baseball?

Yep the Transformers series top tier. Daniel Warren Johnson is a master. Duke is very good and Cobra Commander is solid. Void Rivals is slightly dull outside the cameos but I think it's building well.

I'm two issues into Void Rivals and it feels very much like the kind of Image book I was lapping up before we had my daughter. If the 'name' books are a significant step up I'll be more than happy.

The lads in Travelling Man have been cooing about Daniel Warren Johnson so I might give Do A Powerbomb a go as well. Cheap Kindle comics are very much my friend in this situation.

  3. Has anyone read any of the new comic series or any of the other Energon Universe stuff? I'm starting with Void Rivals which is a new IP and trying to read it in something approaching publication order.

They've all had a load of buzz and the creators are pretty exciting.

How you know the magic's gone.

Prospect of Hangman v. Swerve III and Sting & Darby challenging for the tag titles next week. Attendance woes, brand splits and JBL are key talking points the day after Dynamite.

Next week feels like it should be a named show. They're really throwing a lot at that particular episode.

This one was pretty much a nothing Dynamite which served as little more than prelude to what should be essentially a mini PPV next week.

I found some in Aldi the other week that were Wagyu dripping roast potato flavour, and they were so bland. Roast potato flavoured crisps are an odd idea anyway, but they just tasted like fat. I thought there might have been a slight hint of beef to them, but nothing.

I had these and really liked them. I was expecting more of a rich ready salted flavour, but found them surprisingly beefy!

Likewise we had those Wagyu and Mustard Savoursmiths and really loved them although my wife described them as 'Lady Fame Brannigans'.

  6. Only watched the opener so far, but Daily's looks fantastic with the new production set up.

I'll echo what's been said earlier, I'd love AEW to find more unique venues and set ups rather than the same identikit arenas every week.

Of course going back to Daily's meant the return of Everton Shirt Knob head, but every silver lining and all that.

  7. Good episode of TV and very much what we've been crying out for. New directions, fresh faces.

I know I'm in the minority thinking this, but Wardlow isn't very good. He's got a hell of a look, but he's still clunky as fuck on the mic and in the ring. A return to being the silent enforcer, pulling faces behind his boss feels about right. I'm not enthused with the idea of a push towards the title though or another baby face refresh.

Are they moving towards Orange Cassidy turning heel? Having the International title again seems to be slowly making him unhinged. Could be fun, dunno what it looks like though.

I like how Mother Wayne is basically a 'Family Values' version of Vickie Guerrero. It's incredible that the Christian/Patriarchy act keeps getting better.

Mariah May looks like a good prospect apart from the worst chops/strikes I've seen in a loooong time. Be surprised if she got away with those in Stardom.

I'm not huge on Donna Purazzo but bringing her in is another statement of intent towards building a strong women's division.

Said 'Fuck Me!!' at least 3 times during Takeshita/Darby. Great stuff.

Hangman and Swerve as forever rivals is class. They should never not be feuding.

  8. Three Musketeers: Milady. Really good, although not quite as good as d'Artagnon. The cast is excellent, with Eva Green being predictably perfect as Milady and François Civil, who I'd never seen before, a great d'Artagnon.

It takes massive walloping liberties with the source material, transparently to build a franchise, but across both parts it's probably my favourite adaptation of the story.

Yeah, if the Saudis bought Sunderland instead, you and thousands of other Newcastle fans would be criticising them and calling out the human rights abuses.

It's the same every where though isn't it? I work with a load of Man United fans who've spent the last decade and more complaining about City, the last 2 years or more complaining about Newcastle and the last few months crying that they haven't been taken over by Qatar! Look at the chatter coming from Liverpool fans when it looked like FSG were selling up!

My Brother, Sister and Brother-in-law all support Sunderland and all said the same thing, if the Saudis had come to Wearside, they'd have reservations but none of them would stop supporting the club.

It's disingenuous to hold Newcastle fans to any higher standard. That said some of the discourse from other Newcastle fans if you suggest that PIF are anything less than benevolent saviours is disturbing to say the least.

I'm not comfortable with our ownership group, I'm just not, never have been never will be. But once in a while I'd quite like to be able to talk about the football without the same three jokes being fucking hammered to death (There's a free one for you lads.).

Right, I'm off to the Crown Jewel thread to call everyone cunts.............

Edit: Clearly no one watched Crown Jewel.

    Bastards.

  10. You'd cry if it was your team on the wrong end of that, but I'm not gonna cos my team was on the right end!

But yeah, spicy game. Havertz should have been sent off, but arguably Bruno was lucky not to eat at least 2 yellow cards. That said Rice and Jorginho were both doing their best to bait him into stuff, so what do you do?

Anyhow, fuck it we've established ourselves as a club worth watching. There'll be the usual 'Burnley upon Tyne' shit coming but it's not like Arsenal came to play football on their last two visits to Newcastle so fuck 'em.

I don't think we have European football thread, but fucking Hell.

Smashing PSG 4-1 in the first home Champions League game in 20 years is unreal. Half of the starting 11 were here when we were in the Championship and 2 local boys scored, couldn't be happier.

I'm the last week(ish) we've won 8-0, knocked City out of the cup (playing a weakened side) and stuffed PSG. Good times on Tyneside.

Aye, It's fucking mint isn't it?

I'm not happy with WHO runs the club and I don't think I ever will be, but fucking hell how the club's being run and how much pride and passion is put on the pitch is genuinely fucking joyful.

We just hammered one of the biggest clubs in the world with half a team who were criticised all over the place as being Championship level players at best. And the players who scored? Two local lads (who I'm constantly told by fans of other clubs, are shit), a player derided for being a headless chicken and a centre back who was nearly forced out of the club by the previous manager. I love the likes of Bruno and Isak but the only way this could have been better is if Joelinton had been fit and scored.

Lovely stuff and I can only hope that top class teams keep shitting themselves at St James'.

Also the Mackems won, so my brother and sister'll be happy as well!

Hey, for the record I said that neither Emi Sakura OR Saraya deserved to be there. I was booing the shit out of her on Sunday, though I think I was the only one.

You weren't, I can assure you of that.

  13. Absolutely cracking night. The atmosphere certainly went up a notch as it got dark. Promised myself I wasn't gonna be one of those rubes who got caught up in Jericho's entrance. Have a sore throat from singing.

Thought Moxley was gonna do a full Sandman entrance, so  I nipped out for a piss and a hotdog. Came back just as Penta was putting the skewers in his head. Bonkers.

Can I enjoy it without Rebels? I never did get around to watching it all.

I think it'll be rough without it.

Personally, I really enjoyed these first two episodes.

I love the inclusion of Dathomir stuff.

    Chopper is the best Astromech.

  15. Collision's just an awful fucking slog isn't it? Just full of really boring lads taking themselves far too seriously with only Juice fucking Robinson of all people providing any light in amongst all the po faced murk.

Dunno if I'm alone in finding Ricky Starks absolute (pardon the pun) boredom fuel. He's woefully miscast as a babyface and is struggling even with his own meat and potatoes style in ring.

It had already been a turgid first 3 weeks and then they add Scorpio Sky to the mix as well. Fucking hell.

  16. Watched half of that Starks and Juice match and fell asleep. Nigel McGuinness is fucking awful and his shite droning makes Kevin Kelly, who was ace on Forbidden Door, sound awful as well.

Collision is already feeling a bit like all the boring lads in one place. Or like Raw during the first WWE brand split but with Punk cast as HHH.

  17. I'm enjoying it massively and so is my little girl.

The matches are over a little quickly for my taste and admittedly the customisation is lacking but it plays like a Venn diagram of No Mercy and All-Stars with a pinch of Def Jam.

I think the DLC strategy is greedy but I'm getting the season pass next week anyway.

  18. I absolutely love how it controls. Having adored all the AKI games from World Tour to Fight for NY I took to it pretty easily. I've played a few exhibition matches and it all feels very comfortable. Hitting Pac's Fosbury Dive feels brilliant.

My one gripe is that the matches so far are over probably twice as quickly as they should be. For a company that trades in epic matches you feel like there should be an option for realistic or fast damage.
