  1. I think the reason I'm enjoying Ricochet/Dream so much is that it feels real, in the Stone Cold/Rock sense. When people talk about the Austin/Rock feud retrospectively you always hear how whilst it was obviously a work the rivalry was very real, it was 2 guys who wanted to prove they were the best, and one up the other. To maybe a lesser degree I get that feeling with Dream/Ricochet, that they are both young hungry guys who want to prove they are ready to be the next star, trying to outdo each other physically and athletically. Competition brings out the best in people and it's brilliant stuff.

  2. Star ratings are absolute waffle, how anybody can put credibility into what Meltzer thinks is beyond me. I got into a spat with him years ago when I said Mark Henry vs Big Show WHC match was better than the latest ROH main event (think it was Davey Richards vs somebody). Horses for courses innit. Someone who subs to him would know more but weren't he down on the Rock/Hogan WM 18 match, that match IS what Pro Wrestling means to me.

  3. How bad does it look on Impact when there is a dozen people at the front in the same shirt, it's obviously some tourist coach party who are at the theme park and have stumbled into the Wresting. Just fucking hand them a load of Wrestler T-Shirts or something, it's the little things.

Aside from that, love what they are doing with Cage, genuinely behind this guy and the push. Also like the Aries presentation, still a whole lot of work to be done, namely eliminating Del Rio but things are a lot better. Richard Justice is still brilliant.

  4. What's fucking crack with Miz on commentary, I'm assuming (possibly giving too much credit) that it was done that way so when he doubles down and becomes an even bigger prick you go "Awwww fuck sake I thought he'd mellowed"? Cos if not that is as tone deaf as it comes, he went from Honky Tank Man to Tim Storm in about 12 minutes, proper loveable, everyman Dad.

I assume it's Callis that's brought all this together meaning ROH/NJPW talent will soon be on Impact too?

Christ I doubt it, NJPW are smart cookies, imagine Naito or Tanahashi working in front of 30 people that are only there to dry off from the log floom. Talk about aura destroying, worst crowd in Wrestling that lot.

  6. His character work is different class, he is so in tune with who he is and what he's trying to achieve. Is he ever going to have matches on the level of Omega etc, no he aint but he brings something NJPW and ROH in particular need very badly, the aforementioned personality and a certain charisma that can't be taught. I take my hat off to the guy, he must be killing it in merch and calling his own shots.

NXT has a big time indie supershow feel about it with little in the way of storyline but explosive in ring action.

Sorry but what a load of absolute bollocks

If the main show spent half the time cultivating it's characters as NXT does the Wrestling landscape would be a whole lot better.

Anyway, best promo Roman has ever done, if they'd let him do this 3 years ago and be real instead of spouting such utter shite he'd be a different proposition altogether.

Thought the men's chamber match was pretty crap and dull tbh. Little use of the actual chamber too.

Agreed, what got me was the last what, 6 months of Braun basically destroying the world then he gets put in a match with no limits and he basically causes no real destruction. Seemed very inconsistent with the Braun character to me, I literally expected them to gimmick the pod of Elias so when he closed the door Braun fucking ripped it out the floor and tipped Elias out or something!!! I just expected carnage.

  9. That backwards bump Ali took from the top rope to the barrier was the absolute most stupid bump I have seen in a very long time, you are playing with inches there, could have cost him dearly it was ridiculous.

Just come across a great one called Wrestle Me. It's a comedian who's a dedicated wrestling fan watching all the WrestleManias in order with his non-fan mate and having to explain all the stuff that seems ridiculous to normal people.

Nice one, tried it Yesterday at the gym and literally had to stop what I was doing when they were on about the death of Buddy Rose due to diabetes complications. Folded me that.

  11. I fucking loved that Gauntlet match, massive thumbs up from me. And Braun, what is there to even say, unbelievably charismatic and without even trying just so easy to get behind.

Why are the Club not with Balor, did it just not suit them this week? Fucking hell.

I'm sure I read years ago that Vince doesn't like groups and see's more money in individual stars

What an old mess he really is, money in individuals, how about fucking creating just one then, letting them flourish when there is a natural groundswell behind them instead of chopping there balls off. Vince thinks the thing that draws is WWE and WWE alone, all this brass ring stuff is utter bollocks, there is literally no other reason that you could ever think a 205 tour would work, he thinks sticking "come see WWE 205 Live" on a poster means 10,000 people will flock, completely unaware that Tony Nese has the charisma of my dead Gran.

  13. Absolutely loved that Buddy Murphy segment, so well done, sports like feel to the training package of him trying to cut down to 205 and then the pay off when he made it. He looks fucking brilliant, monster in this division.

  14. Best bit is how they pretend they don't care and "any reaction is a good reaction". Weird how they pipe in cheers and or mute the boo's isn't it if it don't matter. Vince aint fooling anybody he literally paces the house at 3am fuming that Roman isn't universally over as a babyface. Never ever gonna happen.

I don't even think it's disliking a lot of them. It's the forced input for them through the headset that winds me up. JBL was a great heel but that was a lot of his own words not being shouted at him to say, Graves shows much more charisma in every sit down thing he does or his tattoo show or whatever. It's just Vince/Kevin Dunn/whoever making it impossible to enjoy them when everything is so forced.

Spot on. I don't dislike Cole at all, it's the fact that they don't decry heel tactics that grates on me, and that isn't his doing, that comes from the top. The modern mantra in WWE that there are no heels or faces and in turn no real heel or face actions, just shades of grey and everybody "does what they gotta do to win"....."He found a way to win Book". Picture JR during KOTR was it? when Austin faced Shane and Vince and the briefcase was being moved up out of reach, "well you gotta do what you gotta do King, the McMahons thought outside the box" fucking no chance.
