  1. I always think Bo Dallas is a great example of the "NXT to Main roster Syndrome"

In NXT he wasn't initially over. My recollection was he was getting heavily booed in the same way Reigns does now, for essentially be The chosen one, and getting a big push. That slowly evolved from a smarmy face nobody liked, because he was shit, into the "BO-LEAVE" thing, and he was SUPER over with the NXT bods.

Moving him over to the main roster, however, and the other 98% of the wrestling audience, had no idea who he was/what he's about, and just sat there like crickets. The writers soon saw this and he is were he is now.

  2. That does ring a bell actually. Were they taping it for Main Event or something like that or was it just a dark match?

I *think* it was a match for Superstars, of all things.

I'm not sure on the whole warming up stuff, but I personally take it as a freak accident. Tyson is, and rightly so arguably, a smidge bitter about it, which hasn't been helped by the fact he's been stuck in his house for almost a year, unable to feel certain parts of his body, and just watch WWE network all day.

  3. Thats the thing, with the NXT guys (and I like all of them), but its how you use them upon main roster debut.

Some of the gimmicks are over in NXT, because it evolved from something else and everybody is in on that development. When they hit the main roster and the casual audience have no idea who they are, they have nothing to latch onton in terms of who that person is and why they act in certain ways.

Other times it's just outright wins/losses. If you bring Nakamura up and he destroys everybody heading straight into a main event run, then yeah he'll be a main event guy. If he comes in loses to Heath Slater then nobody will take him seriously at all, and it'll be a huge wasted opportunity.

Roode in himself is more "proto-WWE" so it would be fair to assume he'll be up there at some point , but Joe/Nakamura or anybody else could be a top guy, if they are booked in the correct way. Joe, in my opinion, could be HUGE if presented correctly and his overall loses are minimal to non existent for a long time.

  4. Does anybody know the deal with Tyson Kidd? Is he likely to come back anytime soon or is he finished? He's not even been on this season of Total Divas.

He's just, (as in the past month or so), been allowed to start working out following fusion surgery on his Neck/spine. Nobody knows for sure, but it's highly likely he'll never wrestle again.

For Turtle Total Diva's, I'm not sure. Tyson addressed this himself on twitter, saying to ask WWE about it. There is a large chance they just can't make something out of it, that wont then be resolved by the end of the season, like all the garbage made up stories on Total Diva's.

  5.

Fucking Linklater these days, D-Mal. I just couldn't...I can't take to him and his turgid shite.

Although I loved A Scanner Darkly. And Dazed and Confused, when I was 14....

School of Rock was on the TV at the weekend and it was still brilliant.

    Really?

Not that I don't like it, but after a conversation with friends, we ultimately determined that School of Rock is "OK", as in it's not bad...but its also not amazing either.

We now use it in reference to other movies, when trying to gauge how good/bad they are.

  6. I was surprised Austin didn't try and pull some strings for Page as I hear they go way back. I suppose it's a moot point given Vince's attitude towards WCW AND having Taker in his ear, though.

I think, if I have my stories correct, the reason that DDP believes he wasn't pushed in the way you'd expect is down to his first meeting with Vince.

Apparently Vince was all business like, and DDP was being a bit over the top about the whole thing. Acting very enthusiastically, and hugging people in the meeting room etc, so Vince saw him as a joke from then on.

Might be wrong, but that's how I recall the story hah.

  7. Add me to the DDP/Goldberg fanclub. It's my favourite WCW match ever, absolute wrestling perfection.

Though it's a reminder of how criminally wasted DDP was in the WWF.

We all know its because Vince and his "WCW can suck my..." type mindset, but promoted correctly DDP Vs any of the "top guys" (Triple H/Rock/Austin/Taker) could have been big business, at least in my mind. I know he had a few matches with those types anyway, but they were mostly throw-away 1 and done style things.

Missed opportunity with DDP for sure.

  8.

Why has it taken 14 weeks for Rollins to call out HHH?

I found this so out of the blue in terms of suddenly specifically calling him out that I had to read back a few weeks I missed to see if Triple had been on TV since the attack

    I was exactly the same.

In reading the results its was like "whaaa?", clearly set up for Wrestlemania, but very random to say the least. Should have made roadblock triple threat, then have Triple H turn up to help Owens win again....thus leading to Rollins/Triple H

  9. Its obviously beneficial to the Bucks, which is all that matters really.

In terms of Final Battle, I watched in on the weekend and wasn't really "wowed" by any matches, and that's coming from somebody who likes ROH generally. I thought the main was "OK" but didn't seem anywhere near as big as it needed to be. the two 6 man tags were "meh", the triple threat for the TV title was good....but good lord Osprey does need to tone it done a smidgen doesn't he?

The tag title match was ok, just too many false finishes in that one for me. Liger/Silas was a bit of a "meh" match also, and the colt/castle match was more of the same unfortunately.

Only straight up good match was Cody/Lethal for me. Loved the after match stuff as well.

  10. I don't get how Rusev is supposed to be the bad guy with the way they're using Lana at all. Roman wrecked their wedding and got her upset, Rusev was defending his wife's honour as you would expect. Enzo now hits on the mans wife continually and he beats him up for it - how is that a heel move?

To my knowledge, he's never been the bad guy.

When he got injured, Dolph was getting up in his face like "hey man I stole your girlfriend LOLOLOL" whilst Rusev was hobblign about. He later cut a sick promo saying "I lost my girlfriend, my title and now my carear.......but I will get them back", and he did just that, prooving he's a man of his word.

Everything about almost all of his storyline involves the other person being horrible to him, whilst he's supposed to be the bad person in all of this.

    #DefendRusev

  11. Everything about that match was perfect for me.

The Goldberg aura that he had being undefeated. The build up of DDP as the peoples champion (the real one, not the rock) with the double that he had built up the diamond cutter as this huge move that could maybe be THE thing to stop the un-stoppable Goldberg.

Then theres the match itself! The pair brawling, the injury to his arm and finally the reversal of the Jackhammer into the Cutter. I remember watching it on Nitro upon broadcast in the UK and lost my mind when he hit it. I 100% thought he was about to become champion, and would have happily taken it as well. Goldberg comes back for a solid win, but the fact that Goldberg had indeed been tested to his limits was a good thing for me.

How they never tried following this up for a rematch is beyond me. I know the issues with broadcast didn't help, but it easily could have been made one of those "I can beat you" type feuds.

  12. Something I always thought WCW did well (in the mid-late 90's) is they would make a point of saying "yes you have your rematch, but we also have a contenders list.." , kind of what legit sports do.

Like yeah you're owed a rematch, but you'll get it after the next contender has their respective shot....

  13. Big Show is doing a shitty Santa spot soon isn't he? That beard.

They need to get that belt off of Owens.

They need to ditch the belt full stop, and just "share" belts across the brands (1 world, Us and IC, 1 womens, 1 Tag team).

The entire idea of a Universal champion is garbage and second rate. Whoever ever holds it is either "champion of the WWE universe" (which is essentially the peoples champion.....and to me would be out ranked by every other title) or champion of the actual fucking universe......which is a ludicrous statement to make for obvious reasons.

  14. On a different topic, do people think Bobby Roode is going to stick around in NXT for a year, or move on up?  If Joe is heading to Raw or Smackdown at Rumble time, I suppose Roode replaces him as top heel.

I personally would love Roode to win the NXT title, and then show up on the next NXT tv stating he's used NXT as a stepping stone to RAW/Smackdown, and vacate the belt/walk out. Bit of heat on his way up and use it for video packages etc.

  15. How can I get my wife to stop wearing low cut tops? I'm fed up with people just staring at her tits!

I've mentioned it to her but she doesn't care?

Short answer will be, you probably can't stop her doing that.

Only thing you can do is maybe have a proper chat about it not just like "Jaysus love, put 'em away!", and really attempt to explain how this makes you feel. [other blokes perving on your Mrs]. Maybe see if there's anything you do/wear that she doesn't like and compromise a bit?

Just bear in mind, even then it may still be a no.....as she is her own person and probably isn't that fussed/doesn't notice like you do.
