  1. I've just been invited to a training week for a job. The pay is described as being £7 per hour, which is below minimum wage, plus commission. They also said that I would be paid £8.07 per hour if I didn't make any commission. I know they're a reputable company, but is that even legal?

Just check with them, as with some places "commission" will factor into your overall wage, so in this case if you do get commission I imagine its applied in a way that means you'd be earning over £7.20 an hour, which depending on how well you do could be very good, or total garbage, depending on your sales techniques

  2. Just been looking at the TV schedules for Xmas.  It looks like ITV have just gave up with their festive viewing. They have a Harry Potter movie scheduled everyday from Christmas Eve until New Year's Eve.

NOOOOOOO!!!! This means I'll be watching them as Mrs E loves those movies......and I've seen them 1000 times by proxy.

    URGHGGHGH!!!!

Out of interest, is there anything good on....like at all?

  3. Not that Disney wouldn't know full well what ECW is, (if they were thinking about purchasing it), and thus not purchase it, but Disney did once sign the Insane Clown Posse to their music label once, I believe.......because they didn't understand what they were all about.

So I don't really believe any of the Heyman stuff, but there is a possibility they may have considered buying them....until they watched one of their shows hah.

  4. That's a fair shout, Ian.

Dreamer had said, (again if its true), that some television network had contacted him directly with the idea being ECW would keep going, with proper funding, but only if Heyman was not involved (I presume after rubbing people the wrong way through the TNN stuff?).

I do take it with a pinch of salt, as ultimately, as you've rightly said, ECW was dead in the water at that point, and Heyman had his business head screwed on, not his "but I love ECW" mind like Tommy. Who knows, to be honest, with the entire ECW locker room/staff, I doubt we'll ever get a coherent story that everybody agree's on.

  5.

There was an episode of Byte This the weekend of One Night Stand a decade ago where Heyman and Dreamer hosted it and the body language was so fucking weird. Dreamer just sat in his chair occasionally chipping in.

I'd love to find this again, I found it an absolutely fascinating watch. Heyman and Dreamer did seem to get on well enough but the show's dynamic was just so interesting. I imagine we'll never see any Byte This again though.

Dreamer was on a podcast some time ago (Austin's maybe) where he mentions about a "thing" that went on between the two back when ECW was still running.

According to Dreamer, he had organised the sale of ECW to some major television network who would pump in some real money and keep Tommy on as figure head. By this point Dreamer was running the shows, and Heyman was the "official" owner. Dreamer had apparently spoken to Heyman about it, who had agree'd, so set up a business meeting with the excecs, himself and Heyman.

Dreamer rocks up ready to sign on the dotted line, but Heyman purposefully no-showed, which then caused the deal to fall through and eventually added into the overall demise of ECW. That coupled with finding out Heyman was on WWE's payroll really didn't sit well with Sir Tommy.

I'm surprised he can stand to be in the same room with him after this, if it's true.

  6. Ahh cool ok. I have been given a few albums (I think up until, and not including, Heritage?) so will check them out.

The prog stuff I'm "ok" with, as I like that sort of stuff anyway. Where does the "BWOOOOOR" style vocals drop off, as whilst I don't mind that in small doses, if its like all the time, I'll probably skip some of those albums hah.

  7. In my opinion, nothing wrong with KO being champion. My only criticism is that the "Universal Championship" seems to be an absolute Micky Mouse belt at this point, due to its bad start and playing second or third fiddle to the US and women's title it seems.

I'd happily they canned the belt off tomorrow, and just shared World/Women's/Tag Team titles instead.

  8. Whilst its a debate to be planned or unplanned, that roof panel is held on by cable ties isn't it? So if it wasn't planned, there is a question of, isn't that absurdly dangerous to be walking about on them, if they could just break open at any time?

  9. In total fairness to Shane, (despite how he's won things), he is a former champion and has been involved in many huge matches. That alone is good enough for me.

I still remember seeing Shane Vs X-Pac, and Shane pulls off a picture perfect leapfrog, and I thought "this guy has it". Each to their own, but I see him as a fearless competitor, maybe not always a winner, but somebody who will give it 100% and go down swinging.
