  1. The Red Light District is about half a square mile. It runs along part of the canal and some side streets. you cannot miss the brothels. The working girls stand in a shop window like sexy movable mannequins beckoning you to come over. Brothels aren't limited to the RLD, they are dotted about over the city. We found that the biggest concentration of weed cafes were around the Dam Square area and there is a few decent bars there. It is not the cheapest place to have a drink. Standard price for 0.5L of Heineken was 6-7 Euros.

Hungary is still on the Forint. Your best bet is to take Sterling over to Hungary and change money once you get into Budapest, you will get a much better rate than over here. It is only really worth changing currency here if you are getting Euros or US Dollars.

Cool , ok. 'Dam is one to visit for me for sure. Seemingly everybody I know has been, and I've missed out for some reason.

And thanks regarding the Forint stuff, I had read that its best to exchange locally, so I'll have a shop about. I presume it's a safe bet to have Some Forints with you, rather than rocking up with 2-300 sterling and no local currency.

  2. Amsterdam is on the list of places to visit, having never been.

Whats the deal there with the "red light district" ? is it real open on the street, or it more like Prague, in the sense on lovely looking place, with stuff hidden down the side streets?

Re a question asked on the previous page: if anybody has been to Budapest, are they on the Euro or is it still Forint ? I'm reading its still Forint, but some places take both?

  3. I'm part way through Great American Bash '96, and the Sullivan/Benoit match is amazing!

Its not a big deal now, but I presume at the time that brawling around the arena was a shocking thing to do? (I'm guessing off of some of the OTT reactions on commentary).

The best line has to be "I never thought as an announcer Id ever have to say:' He's going to put his head in the commode' " . Dusty losing his shit over, not the match, but a women being in men's toilets is also hilarious.

Baring the above, the match itself is pretty good. Quality hardcore match.

  4. On a more positive note, I didn't know Andre had a daughter until today, which is very cool. Was he ever married?

In trying to look it up I found this, which is an interesting snippet:

An urban legend exists surrounding André's 1987 surgery in which his size made it impossible for the anesthesiologist to estimate a dosage via standard methods; consequently, his alcohol tolerance was used as a guideline instead.

  5. What is the general consensus on 205? I'm yet to watch any of it, just through lack of time, but I keep hearing mixed reviews about it. Is it up there with NXT or is that the better show?

  6.

It might be worth either: re-branding Impact as GFW, then bringing those guys is OR quietly shutting GFW down and building up Impact again.

I would prefer the former over the latter personally, but you never know.

Just actually name it Impact Wrestling- and properly, not half-arsed this time. TNA is an abysmal name and GFW is also shite. You don't have to have a three initial promotion name these days, pick something that stands out. Impact is fine.

Apparently that is the current plan for them, according to Meltzer, to drop TNA altogether.

  7. If WWE did sign Magnus and Dutt, (Dutt was there for a trainers position recently), that'd mean they've signed all the major GFW champions before any of them had done anything. (Not sure who the womens champ is)

Bollywood boys were the GFW tag champs upon signing with WWE, and Magnus is the GFW world champion at the moment. Until very recently Dutt was the mid-card champion as well.

  8. Noah is basically a feeder league/minor league affiliate for New Japan these days isn't it?

    WELL...

On November 1, 2016, it was announced that Noah had been sold to IT development company

    Estbee, Co, Ltd.

On November 7 2016, Estbee officially changed its name to "Noah Global Entertainment kabushiki gaisha".

At the end of 2016, NJPW pulled all of its wrestlers, including the entire Suzuki-gun stable, from Noah with reports stating that the relationship between the two promotions had turned "extremely sour".

On February 7, 2017, Noah announced a business alliance with Impact Wrestling.

NJPW had some sort of sake in them, in the past few years, but looks like that went south towards the end of 2016. The previous owners recently declared bankruptcy before selling them off to the new owners. So both TNA and NOAH are in similar stances right now.

  9.

Why do I get the feeling that Lesnar beats Goldberg only to drop it the next night to Reigns?

Depends on if they've pulled the trigger on a Reigns heel turn by then or not. If he's a babyface they surely know better than giving that a go in front of the post-Mania crowd.

Of course if he's a heel (or that's the heel turn) that may be a different story.

I personally would be 100% on board with a Reigns turn at mania itself, followed by a title win on Raw the next night. Would be even better if it was Goldberg he won it from!

  10. When I witnessed this, I was round a friends house checking it out, and none of us knew it was a thing you could do. The Alien was spotted, one of said "oh shit, there it is..." and it heard us. Needless to say, I needed to change my underpants after that.

  11. Anybody been to Budapest? I'm over there for a stag-doo in a few months.

From the pictures I've seen it's very nice, although have an image in my head that it's full of other stag/hen-do's, for some reason.

  12. There was a gif doing the rounds on here a lot a few years back that had a bit from an ROH match where two guys do big move after big move without selling a thing until the end. Might have ended with a hurricanrana to the floor or something like that? I can't even remember who was in the match, I'm just keen to see it again. Can anybody help? Sorry for the totally crap description too. Cheers.

It may have been Davey Richards Vs Eddie Edwards, although I'm not sure when from (I want to say the: 'Best in the World' event?).

  13.

It comes recommended by a friend, so I'll give it a go, plus its fairly short so I don't mind the break after World Without End, which was very long.

I've asked previously, but does anybody have any recommendations for books to read? (Any genre/type). I'm reading anything I can get my hands on really, and only have 2 or 3 books to read after this one.

I'd massively recommend The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamad. A great book that's incredibly well written.

Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky is one of my favourites and that's available in most bookshops. Would heartily recommend.

Awesome thanks guys, I've added those to my list!

  14. From bits in "da newz" WWE are interested in having them back, and I believe their contracts are up sometime very soon, (along with Drew Galloway as well), so who knows.

How far ahead do the tapings go? With Hardys being the tag champs at the moment, it'd suck if they left before anything else has been taped/aired. Well, it'd suck for TNA, although very few other people would actually care I expect.

  15. I still say that the funniest book I've ever read is The Disaster Artist, about the making of The Room. it probably helps if you've seen the film and are aware of Tommy Wiseau but it's the only book I've ever actually cried from laughter reading. I was reading a chapter one lunchtime at work and trying not to laugh but was shaking and crying from it, people thought there was something wrong with me.

I am very much aware of The Room, after watching  being subjected to it recently, and the movie itself is unintentionally hilarious!

I'll add that onto my list, cheers Harry!
