  1.

There was a wrestling category on Celeb Pointless tonight. The choices were

    Movies starring The Rock

    Movies starring Hulk Hogan

    Royal Rumble winners

The pointless answers were Lex Luger, Yokozuna and Vince.

The girl playing said Bret Hart which scored her 3 points.

I'm sure Rumble winners has been used before. I can't believe Rey Mysterio and Hacksaw weren't pointless answers!

Hacksaw was, as was Del Rio and Big John Studd.

  2. It's probably what I'm going to have to do but it still opens the floodgates for the awkward conversations about why I don't drink. I'd like to think I could get to a point where I can go out and only have a few, I just don't think it's wise to practices in front of my bosses...

  3. Needing a wee bit of advice lads, if you'd be so kind. I have a drink problem but not in the sense that I drink too much, I actually very rarely drink these days because of the kind of drunk I am but on the rare occasion I do drink I always drink far too much.

Anyway, I started a new job about 2 months ago and it seems pretty good so far but I've had to turn down two big nights out and other smaller invitations for a "couple of pints" already and I'm worried I'm starting to alienate myself from what seems like a good crowd. I'd love to be able to go out for a drink with everyone but whenever I get drunk I get massively inappropriate, normally quite confrontational and just generally make a massive arse of myself. It's not in my head either, I've been told by mates and family I'm not a good drunk and it's why I limit it to only drinking with the people that will put me in my place.

I wish I could go out and only have a couple but I've never been able to do that and like others in her, I know that a couple of pints will end up being a dozen chased with half a dozen rums and I'll be on the blower looking for a Henry quicker than they can finish their dry roasted.

I already know that the only sensible answer to this is keep avoiding the drink but the longer it goes the weirder I look, and my manager keeps going on about getting in some games this season and going out on the piss, I'm feigning enthusiasm but at some point I'm going to have to either go or come clean.

  4. Yeah he's been the most all over the place character that's for sure, I have no doubt it's intentional either. Started the show as the main antagonist, lost his hand and went face and now he's back with Cersei he's tweening it up. I believed what he was saying to Edmure, his commitment to Cersei is the only thing that's remained constant with him so I definitely bought in to his "I'll do whatever it takes to get back to her line". Her days are numbered though, I can't think where her storyline could go after her trial.

Jaime, Brienne and Tormund love triangle to feature heavily in S7

  5.

No comedy should be over 120 minutes. I notice "Trainwrecked", which premieres on Sky today, and stars John Cena, clocks in at two hours. Not on really.

Runs 2 hours, or is that the Sky slot?

Never mind looked online, 2 hours 9 minutes. Blimey

You could get away with only watching the first hour to be fair, you won't miss much after that. It peaks in the cinema with the Koko B. Ware reference.

  6. Opened myself up to that one! It's easier said than done to be fair, I can't be the only one who finds myself clicking on it/opening it automatically. Not only that, I'd quite like all traces of my account gone so is there a way of doing that but keeping all the contacts there and still being able to use messenger? I know I could probably go through and delete everything manually but that's a ballache id rather avoid.

  7. Really felt for Joe, the fact he had been in hospital all that time, knocking on deaths door and not a single person had gone to see him. I understand alcoholics are prone to burning all their bridges bit no one, never mind a guy so young, should have so little support.

In fact I really liked the woman with the dreads and French(?) accent, there was an honesty about her that made me feel even more sorry for her than I already did. When Louis asks her why she is with Gary her reply gave me a big auld lump in the throat. Hopefully, he drinks one can of K too much and falls under a bus, horrible bastard.

  8. Just wow. That was outstanding. Only match that didn't quite deliver was Corbin vs Aries but the rest more than made up for it.

Zayn vs Nakamura was, for want of a better word, spectacular. I'd heard the hype about Nakamura but never bothered to check him out, now I fucking love the guy. Everything about him. His entrance, his slightly creepy look, his mannerisms, his brutal offence, his selling. Everything. That Kinchasa or whatever looks like it could decapitate someone. Absolutely buzzing to see him work with Corbin, Balor and hopefully Joe.

This show really was wrestling at its very best. I think I'm going to rewatch it again now actually.

  9. The terrifying thing is that even he sees these cuts on disability welfare as going too far. It's a sorry state of affairs when IDS is appearing to be the more moral government minister. Although the cynic in me sees this as a political move and I think we'll see him align himself with BoJo with the promise of the Chancellor's job. These cunts do fuck all for the "good of the nation", everything's a ploy with them.

  10. Can't see any of the roster having complete free reign over their segments or gimmick, maybe a little leeway but I'd imagine that the more over they got the more Vince would have wanted creative control over them. And of course the writers' response to this would be having them do what got them over, ad infitum, with zero character or story development and have them involved in as many angles/segments as possible until they reach the point of over exposure where no one can be arsed with them anymore.

  11. I've just finished season two of The Walking Dead and I'm surprised at how much I'm struggling to enjoy it given the hype and praise around it. I'm just finding it hard to get behind any of the characters with the exception of Daryl - sometimes. The plot, so far, is paper thin and I'm getting frustrated at how completely inept they are at dealing with the most simple tasks. Small things like they're inability to run away from zombies that can barely walk or repeatedly having to go back to the pharmacy for medicines when they could just empty the place once and be done with it rile be up. Then there's bigger things that are inexcusable like Rick leaving that young girl in the forrest alone because they're being followed by two zombies but the very next episode he's taking on half a dozen by himself, it just doesn't make sense and it's difficult to overlook. Obviously there has to be some suspension of disbelief for this type of show but at the moment it's playing out like how Kenan and Kel would deal with a zombie apocalypse.

I'm reluctant to give up on it because a) I hate starting something and not finishing it and b) everyone else seems to think it's this great, groundbreaking tv show. What's the general consensus, does it improve or is it more of the same?

  12.

What must see matches from the last 10- 15 years should try to squeeze in before it runs out? Lesnar vs Cena from Extreme Rules a few years ago sticks out in my mind.

Punk vs Cena MITB, Trips vs Taker WM27/28, Rollins vs Lesnar vs Cena RR, most Elimination Chamber matches, Bayley vs Sasha (their best two were at Takeover/the other was just after-can't remember which show), Punk vs Lesnar SS, Bryan vs Cena SS, Umaga vs Cena RR. Those should keep you going, all classics.

I'd go for some of these, if you've done all the Rumbles & Manias, just thinking the last 10 years and based only on what I've actually seen.

2005 - the Elimination Chamber (New Years Revolution) is a great drama. Batista vs Triple H in the Cell (Vengeance) is worth a watch. Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels (SummerSlam) is a one of a kind meeting, so watch it if you haven't seen it.

2006 - the Elimination Chamber (New Years Revolution) is decent with a great finish. Cena vs RVD (One Night Stand) is utterly unique.

2007 - Randy Orton vs Shawn Michaels (Survivors) tells a great story.

2008 - Edge vs Triple H vs Jeff Hardy (Armageddon) is worth watching for the ending alone.

2009 - Randy Orton vs John Cena (Breaking Point) for me is the best Cena/Orton match and completely compelling stuff, really taking the "I Quit" match to quite sadistic levels.

2010 - The Raw Elimination Chamber (errr.... Elimination Chamber) is full of action and has a great finish. Miz vs Daniel Bryan (Night Of Champions) is very satisfying.

Steak has hit most of the best ones of the last few years. I'd say Sheamus vs Big Show from Hell In A Cell 2012 also needs to be seen to be believed for how dramatic a match Big Show could still have at that point. Actually Reigns v Big Show Last Man Standing from this years Extreme Rules was also a belter. Don't miss The Shield's best matches either - vs Cena/Sheamus/Ryback from Elimination Chamber 2013 and against Evolution at (IIRC) Extreme Rules and Payback 2014.

    That's probably more than enough.

Also, if you're looking for a big six-man tag to break up all those singles matches a bit then I can't recommend The Shield vs The Wyatts from Elimination Chamber 14 highly enough.  The tension and drama in the short build to this match was incredible and when the night came the crowd were going nuts for these guys to knock seven shades of shit out each other and they more than delivered. One of the best tag matches of the last decade for me.

  13. Kodi's great if you're using it like you would Netflix etc but it's such a hit and a miss for sports that I'm not quite ready to finally tell Sky were to stick it. Haven't tried watching live TV channels on it but what I hear from mates that do, is constant dropouts or taking so long to find a decent stream that you end up missing half the show, basically the same problem with the Sports. Still, it's definitely worth the £30 and an hour of your time.

  14. I implore anyone who's vaguely interested in the leadership election to watch Yvette Cooper's interview with Kirsty Wark on Newsnight, I've never winced so much at politician as I did during that interview, especially when she tried to explain what a "feminist economy" was, going as far as saying that trains were "boys' toys". She couldn't give a clear, concise answer to a single question that was asked of her and I think if it was a Paxman or Marr interviewing her it would have hit the headlines, Wark seemed to take pity on her and let her off quite a bit.
