All the old 80s TV sport themes were great, but these two are the best:
Â
BBC Golf theme.
Â
ITV World Cup '86 theme (later used for "the Big Match" and then "Saint & Greavsie".

When I try to stream NJPW world off my tablet onto my TV with an HDMI cable it won't let me. Anyone know any way around this?

Â
Is the english version of WK11 available for viewing on NJPW world? I can't find it.
If you Google translate, click on the "shows" tab on the home page and it should be the third show (fith link) down.
Â
Thanks!

Johnny Saint is also going to NXT.

Lawler vs Undertaker in 1993 or so would actually be a fun match.
-
That would take work, it'd be far easier just to stick the full tapes on. I liked the cheesy segments like the Star Trek one and DIY with the Bushwhackers. It was some of the matches I couldn't stand.
-
I particularly remember the "fan favourite" matches where supposedly a fan would write in saying their dream match was Jim Duggan vs Typhoon or something of similar calibre.
-
Why aren't they on the network? Are there rights issues or something? Just about every one of those tapes had a great, ***1/2+ match on it. Admittedly a lot of garbage as well.

Class.... does anyone recognize the book? the back cover looks like it has people meeting face to face. (In regards to Bryan's book).
.
I know it's not but at first glance I thought it was a "for dummies" book which I found humorous.
Â
It's one of the Crowbar Press/Scott Teal books, but I don't know which  one.

What size buildings are they likely to run? York Hall, Liverpool Olympia, 2000 or so seat venues again? Or are they bigger than that now?
Â
Wouldn't it be a good idea to get TV first? I can't believe out of all the hundreds of channels on Sky showing God knows what crap, that there's no room for ROH somewhere.

Scott Teal's Dick the Bruiser book and "Whatever Happened to Gorgeous George" are out on kindle on amazon uk now.

Cinemas always used to do that for longer films. Tarantino will be doing it for Nostalgia reasons though, he used the actual camera used to film Ben Hur to film this movie.
-
I watched Hateful Eight last night. Standard Tarantino fare, good but not great. Pretty much Tarantino's take on an Agatha Christie "locked room" murder mystery.
-
Never rated him in ECW. He was good at saying "Oh My God!", knowing the names of Japanese moves, and saying what Paul Heyman told him to say. Yet for some reason he got all the plaudits, Announcer of the Year in the Observer etc.
-
Always hated Joey Styles. Most overrated commentator of all time.

So basically Alice leaves, Cornette explains the departure on his show this week, MSL takes over as producer with him, Cornette cuts a damming promo on Alex Greenfield(who also does shows on MLW) and the cunt continues to build an enemy army just like he's always done over the years.
Â
Would laugh my tits off if ISIS reps in the US bomb that racist bigot up
That's ridiculous. You want ISIS to bomb Cornette?
Â
I have no idea who Alex Greenfield is.
-
Always hated Alice, may start listening to Cornette again now she is gone.

I don't know the terminology but 1989 was when Sky became more than just a single channel. When Sky News, Sky Movies started. I think before that you had to have a motorised dish to get satellite TV. Some areas had Sky Channel, Eurosport etc available on cable, but no-one I knew had that.

The WWF didnt tour in the UK till November 89. Those tours were sold out, although as far as im aware it was only The Docklands and NEC they went to. To say it was unpopular in 1990 is a strange thing to say, it was not unpopular it was on a gradual rise. I remember trying to get tickets to an NEC show in 1990 and it was sold out within a couple of days. 91 was another sellout UK tour with Bulldog V Quake headling the NIA. The best show i have seen live, featured Taker v Piper and Von Erich v Flair.I mean 1990 really, before everyone got Sky in 1992. I doubt the WWF was ever as popular as it was in 92 (and yes that includes the Attitude era).
Many people had Sky pre 92 as the ticket sales show.
Â
I went to the Sheffield Arena leg of that autumn '91 tour. I remember being excited to see Von Erich vs Flair as I knew that was a big matchup from the 80s, think I'd seen some of their old matches on WCCW on Lifestyle. I think I saw their last ever match together.
Â
Sky really started in 1989, at least the multi-channel setup started that year and it was heavily promoted. WWF was one of the main things people bought it for, that and the movie channels. It didn't REALLY take off until they got the Premier League from the 92/93 season (coincedentally 2 weeks before SummerSlam '92).

Far too many British promotions have looked at TV as the Holy Grail and fucked themselves over doing it. As soon as you get on TV you're going to be compared with WWE as they are just a click away. ICW works great as a live product, I don't think it would translate nearly as well to weekly TV. They're better off keeping doing what they're doing, especially if they can keep getting documentary type stuff about them on TV, as well as segments on local news etc.

Anyone else  have a BBC micro? They were really popular in the 80s, some classic games, many of which were blatant knock-offs of well-known arcade games but it also produced all-time greats like Elite, Citadel, Exile and Castle Quest.
