  1. When did the WWF start on Sky? There's a TV listing out there from 1984 that lists wrestling on Sky channel that people seem to assume is WWF. Did they get on there right from the promotion going national in the US?

  2. 7 hours ago, David said:

Not another vote, just simply cancel the result of the original referendum and pretend it never happened? Surely not?

Lib Dems aren't going to win the election outright so the point is probably moot. I think the best case scenario is for some kind of remain coalition to win, have a re-run of the referendum where remain barely scrapes though and then deal with the consequences with reparations to the leave areas, and there'd still be a groundswell of betrayal that would linger for many years,

  3. A male super-heavyweight division in UFC wouldn't be any more viable than the womens featherweight division is. There isn't a reason to have one just because some guys are cutting weight to make 265. I've never seen a heavyweight looking like death warmed up to make weight like you do in some of the lighter weight classes. Maybe it's something Bellator should do a they're more about the crazy spectacle fights than the more legit sport appraoch of UFC.

  4. Fin's hatred of Cena was ridiculous and counterproductive. Like it or not, the potential buyers of a wrestling magazine that's sold in WH Smith are mostly kids who watch WWE and for a supposed mainstream magazine to spend so much time slating Cena and the WWE product was utter madness. The people buying the magazine and reading it are either going to think you're wrong and stop buying the magazine as a result, or think you're right, realise WWE had become shit, stop watching it, and stop buying the magazine as a result.

  5. He's a good worker with a great look that hasn't been seen for years on national TV so would be a fresh face for AEW instead of being seen as a WWE cast-off. Plus he's a big guy too which is something they are sorely lacking at the moment. Plus he speaks French so he'd a be a good guy to have if they wanted to run in Quebec or have TV in the French speaking world. If I was Tony Khan I'd sign him in a heartbeat.

    2) Rene Dupree was fucking good. La resistance, the French Tickle, Fifi and his tag with Kenzo Suzuki. All underrated

Rene was really good, I've never heard anyone say otherwise. I think he'd have been back in WWE long ago were it not for the wellness policy. I'd be very surprised if AEW don't sign him.

  8. I think Meltzer comes across terribly on Twitter and not that well on his radio shows sometimes when he just talks over people. His view was more respected when all you knew of him was from reading the newsletter.

  9. On the subject of the Wonder Years, there hasn't really been much in the way of TV shows set in the 90s during the last decade, in the same way that for years TV would have nostalgic shows set around 20 years in the past (Happy Days, Wonder Years, That 70s show, Everybody Hates Chris).

  10. I'd rather have a compromised Labour party in government than any Conservative government, and Blair is the only Labour leader to win a general election in the last 40 years. People can go on about Jeremy Corbyn all they want but the unless he can win a general election, anything he says is meaningless. Jeremy Corbyn is not going to win a general election. Labour need to get serious.

  11. How many wrestling magazines are still in print? PWI is still going I think. Is that it? For the English speaking world at least, I know Japan and Mexico have magazines.

FSM was a decent enough magazine, I liked that they gave recognition to the WOS days with John Listers articles etc. Powerslam always completely ignored the glory days of British wrestling. Jim Cornette's articles were always a good read too.

I know Lister's articles have been collected in book form, it'd be nice to have some of the other WOS columns and articles collated in this way.

  12. If the tournament is in England, the final is always going to be at Lord's, it's the Wembley of cricket (or to be more exact, Wembley is the Lord's of football). And also the biggest cricket ground in the country. I think the Oval gets too much prominence though, they always play a test there every year meaning two in London. They should play one at Lord's every year but the rest of the grounds should be cycled through in order, meaning the Oval misses out some years.
