  1. It's been years since i bought any footage in bulk, and Powerbomb has long since ceased to exist. So are there any reputable traders still around from those days i could by a bunch of WCW, WWE, and TNA from? Looking for lists i can go over.

I recall Rampage was originally booked for the Wrestling World Championship but he didn't do it in the end and T Bone replaced him. When was the last Ligero and Mastiff appeared for them? Didn't know they'd stopped.

If i remember rightly, the last time Mastiff appeared was Wrestling World Championships in November. And Ligero was the CZW/PCW event in Liverpool earlier in November. Their absence has made room for guys like Chris Ridgeway to step up, and for academy student Phillip Michael to shine. Bubblegum has also been on top form this year. So the shows have still been decent.

Oh wow, didn't realise it'd been that long. That's 3 big names to lose, all former champions. I'm assuming because of the timing it was the ITV contracts although Ashton Smith is still on their shows, isn't he?

Yeah, Ashton is the current cruiserweight champion.

I hadn't seen WrestleMania III or similar before Dragon debut and had no idea who he was. The promo videos looked cool. WWF took a lot of flak from Apter mags for sweeping a Superstar's past under the rug. Tony Atlas had a similar treatment.

Piper sorted out any confusion on his debut at least.

  5. They did that random one night only house show thing last year. I'm curious if plans for that were bigger originally, or if it was a test run to see how a one off show like that would draw? It seemed very odd at the time to come all this way for one house show, not only that, but booking the o2 for a house show was a little odd as well.

  6.

Cost of manufacture was big back then. Distribution smaller too so bigger costs per run.

It was even bigger for longer tapes hence some WWF PPVs being released edited down to two hours.

Was this the reason Harley Race vs King Haku ("battle of the Kings") was cut from the video/ dvd release of Royal Rumble 1989? I always wondered why they cut his match...

No clue why it was cut, but i was glad to find it is on the network.

  7. I just think there will be a MAJOR curve ball and it will require an additional man that isn't Styles/Roman/Finn on his own. I don't think three is enough. It was ok for the nWo because of who they were but not for two guys who most people don't know, Styles who won't be the top heel all year or Finn who possibly isn't equipped yet based off promos and when he doesn't have the demon gimmick which i would assume he wont.

4 will be better, for me anyway.

Why wouldn't he have the demon gimmick? He used the paint while he was a heel in NJPW. That paint moves a lot of merch, i highly doubt they'd drop it.

  8. So anyone care to guess what BG4 will stand for (It probably said BG and then '4 Life' on Gallows tights but i'll assume it's BG4)? 'Bullet Gang?' I think it's clear there will be four of them. But who???

It was "GB4Life" and it stands for "Good Brother 4 Life". Amber O'Neal confirmed it on Twitter.

My highlight of the weekend at PCW was the Ligero vs Kirby match in the afternoon, just something completely different from the matches i have seen the 2 have. Kirby as the sarcastic heel was just refreshing from the usual he acts at PCW.

Match highlights - the tag team series especially War Machine vs The Hooligans. But still can't get my head around the Riots getting beat again (The firm are looking very beatable early on, but hopefully along way to go with the storyline).

Matt Sydal vs Bubblegum and his match with Mastiff were decent

El Ligero vs Kirby was amazing. Kirby was awesome all weekend though, although I may be a little bias as I'm a massive fan of Joey Hayes who was with him.

Hooligans and War Machine was awesome too. My guess for Riots losing was that they probably had to get back to London early enough for the Progress show the following day. I think they'll still cause some troubles, most likely interfering in the tag match this weekend, and then going up against Team Single at a later date.

The Hooligans and The Riots were booked on a show in Leicester Saturday night. And the Hooligans were in the final of the tournament/series. So i don't think commitments elsewhere really came into play. Hell of a series, really loved how it played out over the 3 shows. The title match in Blackpool is going to be something special i think.

  10. Honky's singalong may have been the highlight of my weekend as it's one of those moments that made me feel like a young fan again. The tag tournament stole the show over the weekend for me, just some great matches and a great idea. Looking forward to War Machine going head to head with Team Single next week.

  11. I tend to think of SummerSlam '05 as where it really started. But I also remember two months earlier when they had Michael Cole and the Coach broadcasting Extreme Sunday Night Heat from the Hammerstein Ballroom as a warm-up for the first One Night Stand; the ECW fans chanted 'FUCK JOHN CENA' among other things.

It was the first time they broadcast an undeniably anti-Cena crowd, that I was aware of.

Yeah, i think it started around the first One Night Stand, because that made it 'cool' to hate Cena. The red hot anti-Cena/pro-ECW crowd was something to behold on the broadcast. And with that show being such a big thing at the time in terms of presentation and opinion, disliking Cena was something a lot of of people jumped on the bandwagon for.
