  1. Went to see Looper this evening and thought it was ace, has it even been mentioned in this thread? Levitt as always, fantastic and Emily Blunt is really good too. Top notch stuff, hopefully Autumn gives us more cinema going entertainment than Summer which was fairly rubbish.

  2. Just finished Chris Kanyons book last night after buying it after someone said good things about it on here. I'll preface it with how much I loved Mortis/Kanyon in wcw, but I thought it was utterly fantastic. First of all he's got some great stories from wrestling, Billy Kidman and porn, his cousin meeting Jim Mitchell, him and Wrath having to sit through Mitchells home made porno in which Mitchell wears the Mortis mask and sticks that cane inside this lady, and his mate phoning him pretending to be Savage all had me laughing out loud. Didnt realise he was such good mates with Kidman, and he was truthful and honest without coming aross as bitter with what happened in wwe. I also feel like a twat for not realising at the start that his mate Jim Mitchell was infact the Jim Mitchell that appeared in wcw, tna and such. Thought the name was just a coincidence.

He's also very honest and direct about his experiences and reading him talk about his bi-polar disorder and depression and how it manifested in different ways is eye opening. Its pretty morbid though as im sure everyone knows he committed suicide in 2010. The book is pretty hopeful in its tone so its quite melancholy and utterly heartbreaking to know that such a good guy couldnt go on with his life anymore. Tragic story, well worth reading for any wrestling fan. He doesnt really dish the dirt on wcw like maybe some people (me, included) expected, he only really seems to lay into Kevin Sullivan, Ernest Miller (though thats not even all that bad, its just "he didnt respect the business" type stuff) and later some non wrestling people from Turner who become in charge towards the end.

    Quality read.

  3. Hulk Hogan

I want Devon back more than anybody and on top of everything else he's a quality person and a gift from the man above,HH

How long untill Devon comes back then? Random surprise for BFG maybe!?

This week is Championship Thursday so we're either gonna see Devon or a new TV champion. Unless they decide to bin the title....

  4. Lawless is well worth a watch, I thought Dredd was pretty boring if im honest. Dredd didnt really have a character and wasnt developed at all, his only real actions were "what do ya think, rookie". Anderson was good but she wasnt really fleshed out as well as she could have been. the 'slow mo' got repetitive after the 2nd time i saw it and the action never seemed to get out of second gear. shame i really wanted to like it too, i like Alex Garland but that script was pretty rubbish...

  5. Just finished Episode 1 of The Walking Dead game. Top notch storytelling, the comic book style is stunning and cant wait to get the rest! If anything happens to Clementine I think my heart is gonna break though. Love the stats at the end too. What did everyone pick?

  6. Lawless

Top notch, really enjoyed it. Not quite up there with The Proposition but miles better than The Road. Shia LaBeef was fantastic as well as Tom Hardy. Gary Oldman doesnt have much to do but hes good, but again its Guy Pearce who steals the film as a slimey Special Agent. The music was also fantastic sounding like nothing Cave and Ellis have done before which is great.

    4/5

  7. Oh dear, I've ordered the first Graphic of American Vampire too! It better not disappoint!

Also for Marvel I'd have a look at 1602, Origin, The Ultimates, Punisher: Born and Spiderman Noir. You can easily pickup a few graphics like The Death of Captain America, Winter Soldier, The Immortal Iron Fist, Moon Knight: The Bottom, Daredevil: The Devil Inside and Out and so on without knowing much of the character history and stuff.

  8. Total Recall

Its pretty decent if Im honest. It reminded me of how I felt about the Assault on Precinct 13 remake. It was good fun, but there was no reason at all for it and it'll never match the original. Its a bit dry though, there isnt much humour, but the action is pretty class and it looks beautiful. Not the best film in the world but it was a fun way to spend Friday afternoon.

Also if you played Sleeping Dogs, look out for Wei's small role!

  9. Like those two reels alot. Daredevil is one of my favourite Superheroes actually, its nice to see it going back to Marvel. I reckon they have the power to get it moving. I didnt think the film was all that bad, but it certainly wasnt amazing or anything. Hopefully Joe Carnhan gets a go wherever the rights land.

  10. There is something about Jessica Chaistain I really dislike though, cant quite put my finger on it.

You should put your finger up your arse for that. She's fantastic.

 I think its probably because she was so annoying in The Help. Its the only thing I've ever seen her in apart from The Tree of Life, and now Take Shelter.

  11. Watched Take Shelter last night, been thinking about it all day today, its class. Michael Shannon is magnetic, its also got Eli Thompson from Boardwalk Empire and the girl from Eastbound and Down, therefore everyone should watch it. There is something about Jessica Chaistain I really dislike though, cant quite put my finger on it.

  12. Im really going to have to watch Take Shelter, is it similar to Another Earth? I dont know much about it, other than it has Michael Shannon and its been loved on here!

Not really. It's similar in terms of pace and atmosphere and with a very debatable (but I think brilliant) ending. I think it's better than Another Earth, though. Here it is in full:-

Cheers, Gladstone. Looking forward to watching it now
