    WWE TLC 2012

    GTFO ***

    maybe I'll give reasons here

The Miz - fuck off, fuck off, fuck off you prick. Hes not funny, hes not entertaining. Everything is so forced. a few years ago it seemed like he was a natural on the microphone, now everything with him is so forced, so scripted and just not in any way entertaining. The attempt to make him a cocky, funny, wise cracking face has pushed me over the edge.

Alberto Del Rio - One hell of an in ring performer, but stale beyond belief. For his in ring stuff to matter his character has to matter and it doesnt. Nobody cares about him, he sparks apathy from the crowd and his ring announcer is far more charasmatic and entertaining than him.

Rob Van Dam - There was a time when Rob Van Dam was cool, its not 2012 though. They might have found a spot for him in the X-Division now but that doesnt make up for the rest of the year where he largely seems uninspired, un-enthusiastic and goes through the motions in the ring.

    Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara

    Best performance

Bully Ray in anything but if it has to be specific his performance at Bound For Glory.

The Shield, all the beat downs have been fantastic, but they really stood out in that very first interview along with the second promo they have done.

John Cena at Extreme Rules, never have I felt so much sympathy for a wrestler, his character was at its best here.

Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan - Best 2/3 Falls - Extreme Rules

James Storm vs Bobby Roode - Bound For Glory

  3. Yeah, it would be really good to see Carlito and MVP comback. They'd both be ace surprise entrants in the Royal Rumble, and MVP was world class until that dreadful face turn where they turned him into a dislikeable cunt (i suppose, like they do with most of the faces)

I'd assume they'd have John Morrison coming back sooner rather than later too?

  4. Yeah The Walking Dead is fantastic, highly reccomended for anyone really, fans of the TV Show, fans of the comic, fans of that style of game or just people in general. Dont think I've ever felt anything like what I feel playing the Walking Dead in any other game!

Anyone getting Far Cry 3? Im really, really tempted, but I still havent completed Dishonored so Im thinking I should do that before moving on to FC3!

  5. End of Watch

Loved it. Really, really loved it. I'm gay for Gyllenhaal and Pena anyway, but a top film. Has the "Cloverfield" excuse for all the close up handicam stuff - the cameras were there for other reasons. "Gritty," touching, action, humour. All good.

Same, I really loved it. I really love Gyllenhaal. As has been said a million times but the chemistry between him and Pena is just fantastic. It also had the lovely Anna Kendrick and eh Ugly Betty! Really brutal in places, but really really funny, like down to earth humour and its also really poignant at the cop stuff without being cliched or boring.

Also the prank they pull in the station was fucking hilarious.

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

    Van Hausers eye! Holy fuck.

Im going to have to check out Street Kings now.

  6. Watched the nWo - The Revolution Documentary today. It was decent but ultimately it seemed like a missed opportunity. Its a retread of stuff we've heard before mostly from the WCW DVD, but the same interviews that we've seen of Bischoff and Scott Hall are really disappointing. I just wish there was a bit more probing to the thing. An hour isnt a long time and there isnt much more than the NWO was great and different then it got shit etc. I'd have liked some more opinion and general feelings about how it felt at the time, about booking decisions and other stuff like that, but ah well.

While Kevin Nash, Booker T, Cody Rhodes and Joe Hennig seem very cool and decent, Matt Striker is the biggest knob on the planet, i get angry just hearing him talk. Also Billy Kidman what on earth happened to you buddy?

  7. So I have been watching The X-Files, I havent ever seen the show before and Im currently loving my time with Agents Mulder and Scully. What is generally regarded as the best series and where does it goes to pot?

Season 1 was pretty class, obviously love the mythology episodes but the 'monster of the week' ones are pretty good for character development and the relationship between Mulder and Scully. There are episodes that sounded rubbish, but turned out to be class, like 'Roland' and 'Darkness Falls' then there are just fantastic episodes like 'Squeeze', 'Tooms', 'Fire', 'Ice', 'Beyond the Sea' and 'Young at Heart'. While the broader mythology ones that stood out were the finale 'The Erlenmeyer Flask' and 'Fallen Angel'. There was some duff though, like 'Space' was pretty rubbish and some episodes follow the same kinda path and themes. Obviously its aged quite a bit and some of the effects are ropey but you know thats to be expected. Its definately one of my favourite TV Shows and I've only just watched a season so far.

i'm onto Season 2 now and Im pretty sure 'Little Green Men' is going to be a hard episode to top.

  8. What? I like Jack Swagger too, I really think he's a main event caliber guy in the ring, but he's so deathly dull. Baring his World Title 'angry, serious' run and his Bald Eagle he's been pretty much the same for 4 years with little progression.

Werent the rumours that he was being taken off TV only to be repackaged and brought back with a big push? If he does get his release I'd like to see him in TNA, his real name Jake Hager is rather cool too so I reckon he'd do well. but they've obviously no room for him though at this time!

On an unrelated note, is there potential in the 'El Local' gimmick? Sin Cara vs El Local - Highlights from Saturday Morning Slam!

  9. Reading Gary Hart's book, I'm surprised he didn't like Sting much at all. He says he has the biggest ego in the world but the smallest balls and would regularly whinge to the office. I always assumed he was respectful and a decent guy. Has he changed since finding God? I guess if nothing else, its been stamped out of him as he was young at the time.

Also, as much as I like the book, Gary Hart doesn't hold his hands up and say he had any negative impact on anything so I'm always wanting to hear the other sode of the story. He does admit to having a massive ego though. He says how he wanted Kerry Von Erich to come out and say he had a drug problem that stemmed from the amputation of his foot to out him having an amputation and help Kerry get back on track with his life as he's be monitored by everyone. He says the American public would respect him and forgive him for being held accountable like Bill Clinton, but Hart doesn't seem to hold his hand up for anything.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Sting, you could maybe think that in the early years given his rise to prominence that he would have got a bit of an ego due to being young and in the position he was in, but I cant ever imagine him being a complete tool a la HBK or something...

  10. Anyway, I went to see Sinister last night and it was pretty decent-ish. There is a really tense mood going on with a few class scares then it all sort of falls apart towards the end and it turns out really disappointing. The home movies are probably the best part and maybe the most chilling. Ethan Hawke is also really good.

I also spent ages trying to figure out where I recognised Deputy So and So from, turns out he was Ziggy in The Wire.

Kermode got it spot on in his review.

Its set up well but seems to skip a part so the ending doesnt really work. I also didnt know if i was jumping at certain scares because of a well put together story, or because the music goes quiet before having a very very loud bang.

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

Yeah I dont think the kids were done particularly well, maybe a little bit more depth to his kids and it would have been okay. his wife only existed to shout at him aswell. They needed to do more with the deity stuff and maybe less with Baguls lured ghost children who lingered around far too long and then it just became crap.

I loved the music but i know what you mean, the music playing with the family at the car is haunting, some scares were 'cheap' as they say. Also the one at the end was so tacked on it made me hate the whole thing.

  11. He was also very capable of making someone look like shit though. He did it with Steiner, with Booker T, and with Orton a few times. He's that good I guess - he can either make you look like a star or like a chump, depending on his mood.

...and Chris Jericho. Though the Raw where Jericho 'won' the title he did make him look a million bucks.

  12. The Lincoln Lawyer. Recently read the book and enjoyed it, so thought I'd give the film a go. Some aspects of the film are just not explained well, and unless you read the book you probably will be left wondering who certain characters are and why certain things happen. They completely fucked up the ending and had they stuck to the book it would have made for better and more exciting viewing. My biggest gripe though is Matthew McConaughey who plays the lead role. Now in the book the character that he plays, Mickey Haller, does come across as a bit self involved, but overall he's a pretty decent fella. In the film, he's an unlikeable prick from start to finish. A very poor delivery overall. I give it 4 out of 10. It would have got 3 out of 10 but Marisa Tomei is in it and I want to have sex with her.

I really enjoyed The Lincoln Lawyer, never read the book though but i thought the film was class and McConaughey was fantastic! The soundtrack is fucking boss too.

  13. I enjoyed them both pretty immensely, you cant go wrong really, no matter what these lads above me say. Brad Pitt and that lad from Monsters putting in pretty class performances or JLG being great and weird looking!

Saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower the other day as well, thought it was fantastic. Its pretty heartfelt also incredibly funny, Ponytail Derick or Emma Watsons brief college boyfriend almost steal the show but Ezra Miller is amazing and gets some fantastic lines. Logan Lerman is fantastic and so is Emma Watson aswell. Shes kindof mesmerising at times...Super soundtrack aswell and you can also add it to the list of good Paul Rudd films.
