  1. I would like to express my love for Summer Rae's outfit.

That was an incredible Raw, have to say I felt a bit emotional watchin The Usos win the title. The dive/ tag combo is still fantastic and those lads deserve the titles. Proves that you can reinvent guys you arent doing anything with and make them relevant.

Triple H's smug dickhead face was hilarious too when he was condescending Bryan. Not sure it does anything for Bryan though.

  2. Bit of a weak Smackdown this time round, in that there were no really good matches as there has been recently, and there was practically no Road Dogg vs Daniel Bryan interaction in the main event. I'm a big time Road Dogg guy since his return, so I would have liked to have seen that. Disappointments aside, that Batista turn was fantastic. A few weeks of insufferable babyface Dave was worth it for this, he was well and truly back to form. Decent match with Ziggler too, although I kind of wish he'd been challenged by a complete jobber so that we'd just got a complete Batista squash.

Cesaro doing the neutraliser on Menry was a pretty great spot too, and the match was ok. They're clearly going to split the Real Americans up, but I like that it hasn't been rushed. Much like with the Shield, the writers actually seem to be pacing it pretty well, which is a refreshing change of pace.

He turned fully then...? On Smackdown?

  3. Well that Raw was a massive disappointment. Not sure what I'd built it as in my head (it's Ian's fault actually, he made it sound like a wet dream) but that wasn't it.

    Funny, I only said yesterday:

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt could be a WrestleMania main event somewhere down the line. Hopefully it will be well protected in the meantime and not put on Raw at five minutes notice.

My thought was that they'd reshuffled the show and gone back to Wyatts/Shield because of Cena's injury but I see in this thread that some are suggesting it was a work. If so, I can't see any reason for wasting Wyatt vs. Reigns.

The match was a huge letdown. Everything about Wyatt is so creative that when he just lies on a bog standard headlock, it seems so out of step with his character. Agree with Ian though, the crowd were just being cunts for the sake of it. The same match with a crowd invested in it would have been 10 times better.

I'm surprised they used the exact same finish for both this and the Cesaro match. Bit of joined up thinking needed there.

Didn't particularly enjoy anything else until the closing segment. Even though it was massively predictable, I still marked like a motherfucker for the *bong*. Brock was brilliant in this. Showed great concern throughout and put over The Undertaker's threat perfectly.

By the way, I've had my fill of "surprise" roll up finishes for this year thanks WWE.

Yes, the "oh my nemesis' music is playing, best turn around and forget about this match for 30 seconds" finish is dreadful.

  4. More wrestlers need to wear white boots, If Curtis Axel wore boots like his dad he would've been slightly more over, even the HHH and Roode have bust out sexy white shoes for big events

I agree, though they didn't suit Hunter at all. Magnus looks cool with them on but I do think white boots should be reserved for the good guys!

  5. What a look Don Callis had. Always looked rather shifty. A brilliant talker as well. He's one of those guys from the boom period where if he came around today he'd be 50 times more over than he was at the time. Someone like him would be perfect for WWE or TNA right now.

    Don_Callis_02.jpg

Is the Cornette interview with him worth a listen?

Yeah I'd recommend it. I've got a bit tired of Cornette's podcast but Callis seems like a really cool guy. Well worth a listen for some good stories.

  6. Del Rio is a strange one for me, he'll come out to 0% heat, but then he'll work a match and the crowd will be well into it. He's an incredible performer in the ring for sure but he just cant capture any heat or emotion from the crowd with a microphone or in a feu but I bloody love his matches. He's had a ton of good ones with Christian, Dolph Ziggler etc and the series with Van Dam would have been good too apart from the shit finishes.

  7. I watched Brian Kendrick's King of Flight tournament.

Know who I don't like? Brian Kendrick. Is it just me? He's one of those ones that has the great reputation. Everything I've seen from him has been garbage. Garbage in WWE. The absolute pits in TNA. He's my pick for most overrated wrestler of the last ten years.

I HATED him in TNA. Worse than Claire Lynch. I enjoyed his brief run as The Brian Kendrick in WWE. I did like the Londrick tag team too, but Jesus him in TNA was the absolute pits.

  8. Tbf Sabin's performance was inspired. Hilarious stuff and its the first time he's appealed to me as a heel. Though why they didn't do it in the ring in beyond me.

I def think Russo is back, especially with those rumours of Angle blowing up because he was written out then they wanted him to do a run in. it's all over for TNA so why not as Rick says go out in a blaze of glory. At least the coming months may be interesting at least...

  9. All of his expressions are magical.

You made a mistake using a plural.

    It's a very fair point.

He reminds me of that time when test did the test gimmick. All of his expression were great too, maintained the level throughout every gimmick.

Thing is with Khali, it's the whole not trying to be funny, but in the space of several pictures, manages to surpass any of his 'comedy segments' written for children and middle of the road americans. For my own selfish reasons, i wish the writers would just let the big daft arse be himself, as he's a fucking hoot. I guess it's more of an accidental dead pan sarcy British comedy thing, rather than an American 'laugh at the silly dancing giant' thing.

Fuck the general audience and the children, make me laugh Khali, keep posting selfies of you being dead pan in unusual circumstances.

Haha, quality post Kaz. I agree.

Here's Brie and the girls at her bachelorette party.

  10. I was half watching Wrestletalk TV the other week and they had an interview with him at some football stadium so it must have been pretty recent.

If he signed for TNA then that's great, I know he's another WWE guy, but he was actually a fucking great (apart from his dodgy face run at the end of his tenure) unlike Mr. Anderson.

EDIT. Ah just saw someone posted about him being here in September, maybe that is when it was filmed.

  11. Dixe TOWERING over one of them is a bit of an overstatement lads. Come on. Obviously its a bit crap shes taller and it makes them look like goofs but ah well it was a shit debut. I dont really know much about them bar the hilarious GIF's that get posted here so I think they can only go up after this. The MILF porn comparison was hilarious though

Also, another fucking power struggle, I swear to God. Its probably the Ace's and Eights 2000 or something.

  12. Difficult to imagine who will induct Warrior into the HOF.

Excluding Hogan his two greatest opponents were probably Rick Rude and Randy Savage, unfortunately both of them are out. was it Kerry Von Erich he held the WCCW tag belts with? Well no for that one as well.

So barring Hogan I can't think of any wrestling personality that could realistically do it.

    Sting.

Probably more chance of me doing it than Sting.

    Stop ruining the dream :(

I thought it was an alright show. Fairly happy not to see the lousy Authority show up. I think it was all about the Warrior though. Oh and eh, Daniel Bryan. I'd rather they just do this and forget about things like they did with Bryan last night and the Big Show vs Triple H feud and just drop things if they don't work rather than force them down our throats.

Roll on big Dave and the Rumble.

  13. I dont know about anyone else but I love these sit down interviews. That one with Heyman and the ones Cole does with Triple H are always pretty good. Dont know how it would do on Raw but I reckon there are worse things to do than put these segments on a Raw show to break up the monotony a bit.

  14. Yeah, I saw that too. I hated it when WWE did it with Kane, and this was even worse. Seems like they're re-packaging Bully Ray as some religious-themed villain, which just doesn't it right at all, especially with that stupid hoodie on.

Rest of Impact wasn't the worst I've seen; I'm rather enjoying the Storm/Gunner feud and Eric Young's bringing Abyss out of Joseph Park, especially as Bad Influence have done such a sterling job as heels. Jeff Hardy's quit promo was surprisingly good, I thought, and I always enjoy seeing the Bro-Mans, especially now they've got Ion as their DJ/spokesman. EC3's a very watchable villain, too - talking about being a "1%-er" and all that. Spud, well - hearing he's going to be on TV more frequently is what got me tuning back in again. I'm glad Aries got the X-belt back last week, but it seems like such a step down when you consider he should be in the main event scene.

Was cool to see Madison Rayne back last week, but the KO feud's a bit lacklustre - wasn't really up for ODB vs. Lei'D Tapa. Also, I'm surprised they let Tapa use the same finisher as ODB. The Sabin/Velvet storyline's OK, but where can it really go? Angle/Roode is suffering from over-exposure a little, I think.

I wont spoil anything in this post, but something got ruined for me by wikipedia. Was just browsing through and its got results changed from stuff that happens next year? Surely thats not on is it?

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

Chris Sabin must win the X Division belt back from Aries in the new year.

Frustrating cause I enjoy watching Impact without reading a head, ah well. I properly love ECIII though.

  15. Most of tumblr is pretty shit, but there's some cool little wrestling ones dotted about. idontlikewrestling.tumblr.com is a nice mix of women in next to nothing, cool pictures and gif sets dedicated to matches/angles. There was one that posted a really diverse selection of matches which was great fun to waste a few hours on, forgotten what it's called though. There's a post on there giving shout outs to a few other wrestling themed tumblrs, if you have nothing else to do its a decent little time waster

There are some good ones (having one myself...guess I'll leave it to people to decide if it's decent or not, it's in my sig) I often search for good ones, I like idontlikewrestling too I'm sick of ringsideconfessions though, there latest one about Batista is horrible. There are some right weirdos on tumble too...

  16. Here's a pic that's just been released of a 20 year old Henry Cavill auditioning for Superman in 2004 for the movie that ended up being the terrible Superman Returns starring Brandon Routh. Pretty incredible that nearly 10 years later he finally got the role, I bet he was gutted when they didn't cast him back then but it certainly turned out for the best.

I'm dreading the new TV series "Gotham" about police in Gotham city, I hate stuff like that, now they reveal it's going to have 10 year old Bruce Wayne in it, what's the fucking point? I love Batman but I have no desire to see a cop show set in the fictional city he lives in and I certainly don't need to see him as a child if the Phantom Menace taught us anything it's that taking a cool dark iconic character and showing them as a little pussy isn't cool.

Gotham seeks a young Bruce Wayne

Gotham Central is a tremendous book. If its half as good as that then it will be well worth a watch. Young Bruce Wayne doesn't set my world on fire but the cop show aspect could be amazing.

Gotham City is an amazing comic series. I doubt the TV show will have much in common with it, but we can hope. Also, I'm dying for an Astro City TV show. It would be something special.

  17. re: Davey - he really needs to sort out those fucking tattoos. I'm trying to think of somebody with comparable outright 100% fucking rubbish tattoos to have ever made it into WWE and I think the closest might be that guy with the acid house haircut who had a pair of massive pair of wings just above his arse

Randy Orton didnt do too badly either, his were pretty shit too. Still not a huge fan of his sleeves but its miles better than what he had before...
