  1. So i was watching stuff on youtube earlier and stumbled over Survivor Series 93, with The Hart Family vs HBK and his eh, Knights.

First off, was this the only time Bret Hart has worn the shorts with his singlet? I though he looked pretty cool with it too.

And also, how long were Hart and Michaels feuding, this is barely talked about isnt it? Or am i completely wrong?

  2. I dunno, but I really loved The Hurricane Helms - Stone Cold Podcast. Thought it was brilliant and he came across well. The story of when he became the Hurricane was great. I've just listened to part 1 of Jerry Lawler. Austin is a great interviewer also, but King is just all kinds of fantastic, I could listen to him talk for hours. Im finding the Austin podcasts brilliant, some great stories in there.

  3. Yeah, pretty much all my friends have it and got it Saturday. I wasnt really drawn by it at all, but now I feel like Im missing out so I'll probably head out somewhere tonight, reckon the supermarkets will have loads or should i attempt to make a late preorder?

  4. Went to see You're Next over the weekend, wanted to see Elysium but my girlfriend was late getting out of work (grr) so we ended up going to see You're next which i was pleasantly surprised by! Thoughts in spoilers below...

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

Really great movie, I saw the heel turn coming a mile off as Im sure loads of people did, it was disappointingly obvious but then they managed to come back from it. The start of the movie is tense and very John Carpenter-esque, it reminded me a bit of a horror Assault on Precinct 13. Then the second half turned the violence and horror on its head, turning more into Evil Dead or something. It was brutal, stupid and funny. I liked how the main woman turned the horror around on the attackers, it picked up after the aformentioned bad heel turn. Also the woman who plays the mum does not look at all her age. She's supposed to have been married for 35 years with 4 kinds and she looks about 40. Fair play.

Its a real good movie, I'd reccommend it, especially for the rather awesome sounding John Carpenter inspired score.

  5. BestofOrlando.com is reporting that a physical WWE Hall of Fame location, which has been talked about for quite sometime now, will indeed be built in Universal Studios Orlando, and will replace the closing NBA City. The report notes the following:

The NBA City is also expected to shut down to make way for the WWE Hall of Fame and a possible wrestling-themed restaurant. And lastly, there is also talk of the Galaxy Bar reopening as some kind of high-end snack bar featuring unique hot dog creations.

Disaster in the making or the ultimate wrestling fan pilgrimage?

  6. I've been reading Kanyon's book recently. Great insight into WCW from 96-2001. There's a lovely story about Eric Bischoff as well. Bischoff gets a lot of shit aimed at him (and a lot deservedly so), but there's a touching story of Kanyon walking into his office to ask for a pay rise:

Excellent book so far. James Mitchell comes across as the biggest nutter and nicest bloke in the world. Kanyon is obviously grateful that he lived with him and knew he was gay for 15 years and never told anyone.

I read Kanyons book ages ago, but I read it in about 2 days it was so good, its a fascinating account of wrestling as well as Kanyon himself. I feel like no one mentions it when it comes to the best wrestling books, he was one messed up guy for sure but he seemed like he had a good heart.

  7. Whens Cody coming back then do we all reckon? Mystery participant at Survivor Series? Suprise entrant in the Rumble?

When he comes back I'd love to see him win the big gold belt and celebrate with his dad and brother at Wrestlemania.

Edge next week in Toronto, and Santino said on the LAW that he was hoping to be back for next weeks show to, so it should be a good one jus before NOC, which im really looking forward to.

  8. Is there any Austin ones guys would really recommend? I've only dipped my toes in so to speak, but listened to the HBK one and the Samoa Joe one (which i thought was ace) but which ones are worth it and which ones should I skip? I though Helms might be a good listen, actually, thought he'd at least have a bunch of stories.

  9. @KingofMetal - I reckon its probably best to to outright lie, but bend the truth. If you can get away without them asking thats brilliant. Just say you went travelling or something!

This might be a weird one for you guys. Dont know if anyone has any experiences but regardless I shall ask.

I've recently become really fucking frustrated with not being to find any job, hate being on the dole,I am either not qualified cause of experience or over qualified cause I have a degree. No shop or bar even seems to want me. People have looked at my CV and said its decent so no problem there. Anyway Im sick and tired of that shit so have decided to do something. Im thinking of learning to become a barber, which I think is a good trade, and its a lot of hard work but there is opportunity there, so I am hoping to start an NVQ in September. Just wondering if anyone has done anything similar, ie a trade of chef etc?

    Cheers.

  10. I was thinking of buying the Lex Luger book, the Bob Holly book and Memphis Wrestling in 1982 for my holiday.

    Any good?

Currently going through Hollys book, havent read much of it but Im flying through it, I think it might be quite short, or else he's flying through his 'before wrestling' stuff. Hes very direct and blunt but its to be expected. I'll chime in once he's dished some dirt and got to his wrestling career.
