  1. Hardly surprising but...

The following press release was issued by Ring of Honor:

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    ROH World Tag Titles Vacated!

How will new champions be crowned?

Due to the unfortunate departure of Kenny King, one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions, The All Night Express has been officially stripped of the ROH World Tag Team Titles, thus rendering the championship titles officially VACANT.

As a result ROH officials have determined that there will be an 8 Team Tag Tournament beginning on August 3rd in Baltimore at The Du Burns Arena with the entire opening round of matches being featured at the

  2. Saying that, I thought Vampire Boy was great in the lead despite the film itself being a load of shit. I reckon he could do a Di Caprio and become a serious, well-respected actor.

Leo was already respected as a top-notch actor before his teen blockbuster phase.
He was? Only thing I can think of is The Basketball Diaries (which he is great in) but I don't know how much of an impact that performance made on the general public and the acting community.
Well there is Whats Eating Gilbert Grape for which he got nominated for an Oscar....
  3. He's quite frustrating. Seems a decent guy and he's turned in excellent performances in the likes of Lone Star, Dazed And Confused, Frailty, The Lincoln Lawyer and others, but then he does a ton of half-assed rom-coms where he struts around with his shirt off for half the running time.

Who on here is gay for Sahara? Loki?

Add A Time To Kill to that list! Apparently hes class in Magic Mike too.

Saw The Amazing Spiderman....and absolutely loved it. Lots of fantastic performances all round, loved Garfield, Stone and Leary. And Peter Parkers mum is Miss Honey from Matilda. Some scenes like the one on the roof with just Gwen and Peter are wonderful. Its also really funny. Captain Stacys line of "What do I look like the mayor or Tokyo" or something like that was quality.

Gwen Stacy > Mary Jane Watson

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

Green Goblin then for the 2nd film?

  4. Was watching Ethan Hawke on Macbeth the other day so decided to watch Throne of Blood, its unreal. Might just become my favourite Kurosawa film.

Also saw Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter, its just not very fun. And it literally feels as if all of it was shot in green screen, it just has no heart of feelings. Some decent moments but overall its just not very good. Though it was some good fun for a "guess what that guy was in" kind of thing. Spent quite a lot of time thinking about who played Speed, only to remember that he was the weird looking kid in Zodiac.

Still havent seen Rock of Ages which pains me, though Im hoping a double bill with it and The Amazing Spiderman on Tuesday should remedy that!

  5. I liked the show again this week. There are plenty of flaws, but it's good for what it is. The sound levels were all over the place and the production really gives away the fact that this is just a series of pre-taped matches, so it doesn't flow like a proper wrestling card.

As for who we saw this week, The Ascension still stand out the most. They have some of the best fleshed out characters. The Bray Wyatt vignettes are quality, but I'm not sure the character will ever translate to WWE TV.

Cesaro and Rollins are both good workers, who can go in the ring. The short squash matches are hiding their strengths rather than their weaknesses. Both these guys will impress more when they get the time to work longer, more competitive matches.

I don't mind the quick-fire short match structure as a means of getting everyone introduced to the audience, but in the long run this needs to be replaced by a proper show, with angles and longer matches. I'm sure this will happen if the show continues to run.

I think he'll be okay, my memory isn't perfect but wasnt CM Punk doing really well when he was doing his SES Saviour stuff, thats kinda similar right? Thats sortof similar to the Bray Wyatt thing Southern Preacher thing right?

  6. Cheers for the link.

Lord, I thought I was done with Byron Saxton. There is probably a correlation in him getting booted off Redemption and it turning into the greatest TV show ever made.

Anyway, eh it was okay. Plenty of wrestling but not much excitement. The announcer woman is awful too. Its not quite the NXT we're used to, its more a mix of FCW and NXT. I think it'll get good at some stage, its just the squashes are a bit dull establishing people.

    thoughts...

Seth Rollins vs Jiro. Im not sure about Rollins, the headbanging was different and I like the look so i'll stick with it, his promo was a bit rubbish though but fair enough its only NXT.

Jinder Mahal vs Jason Jordan was uninspiring, poor Jinder. I want to like him but he's just so...dull.

Leo Kruger vs Aiden English was okay, Kruger looks like a decent ish heel.

Usos vs The Ascension was pretty decent, they could easily just turn up on Smackdown for my money.

Richie Steamboat promo was great, go on lad. He is from Charlotte North Carolina? Interesting. I think he had a good showing against poor Rick Victor who now stands at 0 - 2 on NXT!

    Cesaro! His music is amazing!

Bray Wyatt promos are great. More please.

Curtis vs Bateman #435 wasnt bad, wasnt a patch on Kidd vs McGuilicutty last week though! Batemans finisher is weird!

  7. So what about Ricky Steamboat leaving WWE in the 80's? Was reading that he asked for time off for the birth of his son (now a WWE Superstar himself!)

Has Richie been promoted to TV now then or is he still down in Florida? I must admit, I thought he was one of the better wrestlers when I was following FCW late last year / early this year.

He's scheduled to start on the new nxt this week!

  8. So what about Ricky Steamboat leaving WWE in the 80's? Was reading that he asked for time off for the birth of his son (now a WWE Superstar himself!) and they granted him time off but decided to punish him and bury him after he returned? Is there truth to all of that or is it something different like NWA offering more money or something?

  9. I thought it was okay, there is def room for improvement but not a bad start.

    Positives -

Well it looks class, if the much rumoured Cruiserweight Show takes place here it'll look great

Tyson Kidd vs McGuillicutty was really good

Promos were well done and I think they should do more of this stuff on the main roster when they are trying to establish guys too.

    Sandow is awesome.

    Negatives -

Everyone was wearing black tights. Sure some might have had white trim, or blue designs but fuck me try and stand out. Fair enough the Ascension but the rest need to change it up or at least try to look different.

I didnt really like the commentary, it wasnt awful but it wasnt good either Might be in the minority there!

    ---------------

Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins and Richie Steamboat to look forward to next week though.
