  1. YES! Somewhere to profess my love for Hawkins and Reks. William Regal is clearly by far the best thing about this show, commentator, now GM, it can't get any better for his career? There is some quality wrestling on here, but Trent Baretta has vanished from NXT recently and its disappointing. People cheering for Tyson Kidd is bizzare, and I even...sort of...maybe like Michael McGuilicutty.

NEWM, you should do a write-up/review like that every week.

on a side note, I haven't watched Superstars in ages! Anyone watching it? Still good matches etc?

  2. People still go on about Forrest Gump and Dances With Wolves winning like its the greatest injustice in the history of the world. Give it a rest. Much as I love Goodfellas, I'd take Dances with Wolves over it. I don't really care about Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, Shawshank!

Some ones that stuck out for me, the only one I really care about to rant over is 2010 - The Kings Speech...really? I mean REALLY? *The Miz* Really? True Grit would have walked it for me, but I find pretty much every film nominated was superior to it. Firth was good, but by God I hated Geoffrey Rush. Hammy-est role of all time.

2008, maybe I'd go for Milk over Slumdog, 2007 I'd maybe go for There Will Be Blood, if only just. 2005 - Anything over Crash, should have been Brokeback. 2002 Chicago, nah. Its AWFUL. The Pianist out of the nominated ones, but the lineup ain't that good. 1997 - LA Confidential. I've never seen all of Titanic, but I can't imagine its better than LA Confidential. 1989, never seen Driving Miss Daisy, but Field Of Dreams, Dead Poets Society and Born On The Fourth of July are all worthy winners. 1984 - I would have went for The Killing Fields over it Amadeus. 1980 - never seen Ordinary People, but there aren't many films that are superior to The Elephant Man, and you know Raging Bull was there too. As controversial wins go i think 1976 Rocky is up there, All The Presidents Men, Network, Taxi Driver! i dunno man. Jump to 1948 - Hamlet. I remember watching it in School and finding it really boring, but a long time has passed since then, but surely The Treasure of Sierra Madre was robbed here!

I've wasted an hour...may I also add its written by a smary tosser.

  3. Snowtown. Grim.

I dont know if it was because it was gone 10pm on the 3rd day of a film festival, and the fact it followed Cold Sweat (one of the more fast paced and crazy horrors of celluloid screams) but I thought Snowtown dragged a bit too much.

It was decent enough, but apart from two scenes, the rest of the movie kind of blends in together. (I have been meaning to rewatch when im actually prepared for a film like that, It was the celluloid screams secret film that closed the festival, and everyone expected something else)

Its hard to describe what i feel about Snowtown, I want to say i liked it but that would be weird. Its a very powerful and sinister film i thought.

Seen a good few films over the past few days,

    Chronicle

pleasantly surprised, i wasn't too enthused by my mates proposed double bill of this and the next film...but this was a pleasant surprise. Not only did it have Wallace from the Wire! But i thought the other two actors were fantastic too. Theres something about the main guy, a young leo DiCaprio perhaps? Anyway, hugely enjoyable film, and the finale was class. Something new to the found footage genre for sure, lets see what the Director does next!

    Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

sigh, somehow i managed to let my mate talk me into seeing this. It was awful, the first one is better (but not by much) Its...just...so...shit. Words cannot describe how much i hate it. Possibly the only time I've been really annoyed at paying money to see something since the first Ghost Rider and Open Water

    Warrior

Rather awesome, although sometimes I couldn't make out what Tom Hardy was saying, but a quite powerful film, and the fights were amazing.

    The Muppets

I still have a smile on my face from this last night. Loved each and every single second of it. Could have done with some more John Krasinski though, that was barely a cameo! And the lack of Rizzo was disappointing, but other than that i loved it. I also thought Bret McKenzie was actually in it! :(

  4. Watched the first Season of Eastbound and Down and thought it was okay, I didn't laugh out loud once, but it had me smiling. Something much better though was the first Season of Bored To Death which I thought was great. Watched the first episode of Community and Friday Night Lights too, both of which are looking like will be be firm favourites of mine!

Also, do the people that make these Mad Men is sexist comments even watch the fucking TV show?

  5. Watched Blue Valentine last night, thought it was intense and rather good. Although I guess you are meant to feel equal parts sympathy for both of them (and the kid) but i found myself not really liking Michelle Williams character. Flakey, and rather manipulative...Perhaps I've got issues there! Oh dear... But as relationships go its a really true film, and watching it was rather painful sometimes. Great stuff

Also it was rather unintentionally funny, Goslings meltdown in the nurses office produced some gems.

I follwed this up with Drive which i thought was incredible, the more I think about it the more I like it.

  6. Fuck yes! Look at Bundy! I might get that to put on my shelf here. I love him.

    IMG_7568.JPG

Shame its 1995 Bundy. Prime KKB had no eyebrows.

Love the Arn Anderson figure, however bit rubbish he only comes with one World Tag Team Title!

    IMG_9124__scaled_600.jpg

this guy (Triple H) is surely a must have! Also a modern day Bret Hart wearing his hero John Cena's Jorts, nah. The Legends DDP also looks great.

  7. I've been watching the latest series of Room 101. Frank Skinner has done really well to take over from Paul Merton and the change from one guest to three has really worked out. They had Danny Baker on one particular episode and the man is an absolute genius.

All I will say about this weeks episode...

Luckily Jamelia's lovelys were on show to counteract Germaine Greer, ugh.

  8. I've been playing Aliens Infestation on DS, its really quite good, similar to the Alien 3 game and Metroid games. The music is awesome and its quite scary sometimes. Its also very difficult, but not frustratingly so.

Also playing Pokemon SoulSilver again and its awesome.
