  1.

Still odd and brilliant seeing Sting turn up on Raw.

I kinda feel the same as I felt about Bret Hart in WCW. It doesn't feel right...

But you can't turn away. And obviously Sting has been in some cracking segments on Raws etc. But still it's just a bit odd...

  2. Meltzer reckons the people at 2K do old-school promos with just bullet points (I'm presuming this is for in-game storylines, though it could be for promotion of the game), and they've told him that the only person close to hanging with Cena at them is Xavier Woods. I wonder if New Day has given WWE faith enough in him now that afterwards he'll get a good singles run. Prior to them forming, it always seemed like the company loves the idea of him but thought he was too shit to do much with.

He's absolutely brilliant. Remember when he just turned up on TV one day as R-Truths mate or something. The New Day has been a revelation and just goes to show what happens when wrestlers get input on thier characters and promos. Obviously won't work for everyone but I think we'd be in a much healthier place were we to let some of the performers loose once in a while.

  3. Then if you thought the win against Bret and his best of 7 series with '?' could have done anything for him, they went and reunited fucking Harlem Heat.

Also was his first World Title win really because of the Sonny Ono law suit or was it more because he benefitted from the Russo v Hulk Hogan real life feud?

In classic EWR 'Fusient buys WCW' scenario games I'd always fire Nash, Hall, Hogan et al and have Booker T, Lance Storm, Chris Kanyon, Mike Awesome and Scott Steiner at the top :( what could have been!

  4. They have plenty of people for Bayley though. Natalya can always be brought down to challenge too or another random from the main roster who isn't up to much.(though suppose the revolution is taking up the majority of the talent.)

I think Emma will probably end up with the belt after Bayley, not super sold on the heel Emma but it's miles better than her previous persona.

I wonder if they'll ever have Sara Del Rey on nxt TV. They could do a nice 'one last chance' angle.

  5. I love Scott Synder's run. Go for that. Black Mirror, Gates Of Gotham, then start with Court Of Owls. Jock's art is fucking sexy too.

Also Arkham Asylum: Serious House On Serious Earth is my favorite graphic of all time.

The Killing Joke, obviously. Long Halloween and maybe Hush too. Death In The Family. See also The Man Who Laughs by Brubaker, and a forgotten graphic I love is Detective 27.

Oh and Gotham Central. Absolutely phenomenal comic, Batman is only briefly seen but he looms large over the GCPD and it's incredible.

  6.

Great Raw, best overall show I can remember for ages. One little annoyance, baby faces aren't supposed to come back in the ring and beat down an opponent after a match, especially one who has just been battered by the heels and they outnumber him 4 on 1, I hate that sort of crap. Good spit but do it in the match or not at all.

Yeah I agree, though I had conflicted feelings as I definitely wanted to see Big Show get a kicking from well, anyone and be off my TV forever (hopefully that was what they were going for)

  7. Good luck topping that Summerslam...

Only thing that kindof annoyed was some idiot giving Regal the "What?" treatment. Proper dickhead that one but oh well. The crowd were proper infectious throughout the entire thing. Both main events were incredible.

Jesus Christ Bayley and Banks just killed it. These girls really are something special. You just wish they grasped that kinda storytelling on the main roster. All the video packages were class too? Are they made by the students at Full Sail or are the WWE produced?

Corbin also proved he could hang and finally showed some charisma. He was very good in the video and I'm starting to like the character a lot. Joe was great and maybe for the first time to me it felt like he was the big star he could be.

I really enjoyed the commentary too, I seem to be the only one, but I thought Graves did a really good job. He put over Bayley at the end, but him sticking for Sasha "doing nothing wrong" when she was trashing Bayleys hand on the steps was great storytelling. The other two are a bit dull but they did a decent job of making me care.

All the guys and gals did well. The only other downer I could think of was, well, Cass, Carmella and Enzo should have been on there at least in a live skit. Damn shame.

It probably sounds stupid but I didn't want a fat, old Undertaker before and seeing all this new blood just makes me want all this nostalgia nonsense less. It is time for the future to become now.

    Yeah, follow that main roster...

  8. The WWF had it about right around 2000. Title changes were frequent enough that title matches were dramatic, but not so often that you couldn't be bothered investing in a title reign.

It's been said before on here, but an out-of-nowhere world title change would be really refreshing in 2015. Every title change has been at least partially telegraphed by months in advance for ages.

Wrestlemania was pretty out-of nowhere surely?

  9. IS Doc Gallows any good? I keep reading that he's amazing but he's literally done nothing special in this G1 which you think would be his time to stand out. Am i missing it? He just seems normal.  Probably doesn't help that the Bullet Club shenanigans are becoming mighty tiresome to me.

I'm not sure about Elgin, he doesn't seem to fit in New Japan. I really like him, but he just smacks of indie wrestler. He doesn't really look the part of NJ does he? I know thats probably a small, stupid criticism but oh well. He certainly delivers in the ring anyway.

Styles is still well, phenomenal anyway. Who we all think is gonna win?

  10. New Day have been great, fair play I was worried for them at first, great stuff from all 3. a SAWFT/New Day feud needs to happen

Yeah I really like the three of them. Kofi always had a certain kind of charisma where he came across as a cool bloke in stuff outside WWE, but he never translated in to a wrestling character and it seems after 7 + years he's finally on to something.

I thought Big E was/ is destined for greatness. The guy has everything to be a star. Not sure about Woods in the ring, but he'd fit in somewhere in the middle in the heyday of managers, surely.

Fucking HELL the guy doing the Clash review on Review A Wai with Pollock this week is absolutely infuriating. A motormouthed 2003 internet guy just fast-talking over everything without a breath and hardly any funny lines. Wai's tremendous anyway, but Christ was he missed in this one.

Agreed, I absolutely love Review-A-Wai (and Review-A-Raw, to a lesser extent) but this guy was horrendous. He wouldn't shut up for more than 10 seconds without interrupting with "DUDE!!" followed by some failed attempt at humour or pointless observation. Pollock and Ting are such a great duo, the shows always suffer when one of them (particularly Wai) is missing. That singer they have on every now and again is pretty bad too, but not on the level of this guy.
I didn't mind him so much. In comparison to Alex Greenfield (who has the most annoying voice in podcasts and perhaps the world) he certainly wasn't so bad. Was a bit weird to hear Pollock quiet. He must have cut John off a good few times too. Sort of threw the rhythm of the show out of whack. Normally you have Pollock recap, then give opinion then throw to Wai for his opinion. This was just the other guy itching to jump in. It didn't seem like they talked it through beforehand.

But Greenfield, fuck. He's on Review an Impact and his voice is just grating. "UM " "I KNOW" "I was live tweeting this on twitter"

    Jerk.

  12. The colour scheme is well established with the brand and red and black are good strong colours, so I wouldn't change that at all, but I certainly think it's time for a visual overhaul. The Raw logo hasn't changed in years and the big LED screen thing is really boring now. As impressive a piece of equipment that it is, I don't think I've seen anybody say they prefer it to any of their older, simpler stage sets. I'd much prefer something which framed the wrestlers as they enter and put the focus on them, rather than a wall of flashy images.

It certainly adds to my frustration watching it. You have no idea its 2015 while watching. It could be anywhere from 2008 to 2015. I'm not sure if that would help. A cohesive show would feel a bit better and characters I was interested in

RE Ziggler. I keep thinking he needs to be like Edge. As in he needs an overhaul. He's just the same guy he's always been. A character change is needed, like Edge when he was stuck trying to get to that main event spot and people weren't keen on him. He became the Rated R-Superstar and the rest is history. It's probably too far gone for Ziggler now but I think he needs something like that. Pot Noodle Superstar or something...

  13. Hmmm, probably...but Lesnar v Kofi will probably be great with Lesnar throwing him about.

Neville vs the podcast worlds biggest idiot should be great and Owens v Balor should be epic.

Cesaro vs Diego though...Yes, mediocre sounding but it might be a card full of good action which is kinda what to expect.

  14. Hmm. Don't know what to make of that. At times it was actually pretty good. It was nice to have Tenay back and it seemed like he was his old self as 'The Professor'. Pope isn't the best but at least he sounds enthused and tries his best to big stuff up.

I really liked the X-Division match, it's a shame these lads get about 3 minute matches on Impact cause they really should be having longer, important showcase matches on Impact. Storm vs Magnus was pretty good and the KOTM match was fun, but at times it felt like I was watching a funeral and last hoorah for this company. In a rather sad twist it was one of the only TNA shows I've watched (bar whatever show Joe vs Angle was on) that felt important, probably for all the wrong reasons but still!

I also have an irrational hatred of Manik's stupid hood thing and find Robbie ridiculously attractive. (and his Tekken style intro music is cool)
