  1. I binged it all over the last few nights, I'm with you. Not only is he one of the most hilariously OP characters ever, he's also up against some all timer stupid enemies. It delivered the bombastic idiocy I wanted.

I lost it three times just in the finale alone...

    Spoiler

When he's whooping everyone while handcuffed, while he was easily holding on to the girl and the stretcher with one hand, and when the guy slid on the knuckle duster only to then start cutting a promo on Reacher.

  2. It ended up being one of my favourites of 2022 (a really disappointing gaming year tbf), an AA banger. We don't get anywhere enough linear action games anymore. It was a fun ride all the way through, with no filler or pointless "depth" padding it out and a load of B-movie charm.

It is no Binary Domain though, what a game!

  3. Thank God!

Worst non-wrestler: Alex Abrahantes. Someone please take him to a trampoline centre or a bouncy castle and leave him there forever. He'll be in his natural element and we'll not have to sigh during Penta matches (although his tops should also be banished).

Wanted to see what 50 year old Super Crazy on a NOAH undercard in 2024 looks like. Unsurprisingly, not that great.

As much as I believe you on this, there's yet another ECW reunion show happening WrestleMania week, they're running Crazy/Tajiri back and I'm irrationally hyped for it*.

*And only it. The same card has Al Snow vs Shane Douglas on there!

I picked up Signalis on the Humble Bundle sale using my Humble Choice discount, and if you’re a fan of survival horror - and to be honest, I’m not huge on the genre - you absolutely need to pick this up. It’s absolutely brilliant. It’s astonishingly atmospheric and tense. I can’t say enough good things about this game.

Co-signed. I still can't believe it was made by only two people.

  6. Ernest Miller's Bloodsport will steal WrestleMania week.

#NatureBoydy? and #WallsOfKidderminster? Will trend worldwide due to confusing fan chants heard during All In.

If Bray Wyatt's headlining the Hall of Fame, less than 25% of the paying audience who entered for the Smackdown just before will still be there.

Had some weird fever dream last night that it will be Pac under the mask and that while MJF may be their scumbag he'll always be a bastard.

If he says "nobody is on the level of the NEVILLE" this will all have been worth it.

  8. I love my Samsung (KS7000), going on 7 years old and I've never had an issue. Will hopefully keep going strong until we hit mainstream 8K being widely supported (and affordable).

It is funny about the apps though. No problems using the in-built Netflix and Prime to watch stuff in 4K, but the WWE Network and some others just stopped supporting their apps on there (or the other way round). I had to Firestick up.

That and the fact that my Xbox 360 just plugged in and played with no issues on the old TV, yet here I in my mid-30s fucking around before work with guides and settings and YouTube rabbit holes just to get a simple games peripheral working.

I think setting up consoles is going to be a pain on any modern TV, tbh. With all the variety of settings these days and having to match the TV and consoles RGB range/colour space/black levels or whatever to get it looking good. It's all an Ahmed Johnson promo to me, I've had to hit up Google for all of them.

  9. That ruined my first Chelsea away game. Di Canio cruelly got me in my first home one with a beauty, too (It was still one of the best days of my life though).

I miss this era where every ticket I bought had "plus one unforgettable wonder goal" written somewhere in the small print.

  10. 1. Resi 4:

Resi 4 remake was superb. It's nice to have The King back, what a ride! Close to perfect pacing, never lets up, yet never feels like overkill either. Loved nearly every second. 10/10.

Still prefer the original. For reasons that are both unfair: (it's impossible to replicate the feelings the OG gave me at 16/17 and how big a leap forward it was) and fair: I feel less precise in the remake, both in aiming and even getting the contextual melee prompts reliably, the rythm and ammo balance feels off. I'm comparing a game I've mastered over 18 years to one I've played once though, so this part might change in time. Mercenaries is as addictive as ever. I need that Handcannon before I jump into new game plus.

No big spoilers here, mostly just comparisons and what is/isn't in...

Del Lago was crap and too easy. I didn't even get knocked out the boat once. Salazar and Saddler about par.

Not getting free ammo everytime you upgrade weapon capacity now is a boo. Getting all/most of the money you've invested into a weapon back when you sell it is a big yay. I'm definitely more willing to experiment with other guns now.

No U3 or hell in a cell was disappointing. Hopefully in the Ada dlc. I did miss the sublime ridiculousness of being chased by the Salazar statue too.

If the decision to have no explodey head suplex was out of respect for Musawa then fair play, that's classy. If not, unacceptable.

The new Krauser fights, mine cart bit and the cabin defence were amazing. Much prefer the Island portion in this one.

Hey, that dog is still in!

The (re)introduction of the Regenerators was perfect. I bricked it.

Expanded story was good. Ashley's much less annoying now. I like new Luis too (it's okay, I said the line for him at the cabin).

The formerly rubbish Punisher handgun has been redeemed. I first just stuck with it out of hatred for most of the better handguns not having laser-sight now, but that exclusive upgrade (shooting through 5x enemies) made it super useful by the end.

Am I going to end up buying DLC just for the sake of doing the T2 shotgun swirly reload thing?

    Yes, yes I am.

With no due respect to 5 and Chode Veronica, if Dino Crisis isn't next in line for a remake we riot.

And I still haven't got around to the DLC yet!

    2. Metroid Prime remastered: It feels quite cheap listing something that just had a resolution bump, but it's a 10/10 game, what am I supposed to do?

    3. Dead Space remake: As above!

    4. Trepang2: It plays like F.E.A.R.

    5. Spidey 2: I can't lie, I was sick of it by the last few hours, I don't think I can stomach swinging around New York ever again, but before I got to that point I'd had 15+ hours of great fun. The proper Venom reveal was an amazing moment.

I'm nowhere near as up to speed as I should be though. I'm still to get to at least Alan Wake 2, Robocop, The Expanse and Teardown.

  11. 6 is one of the biggest piles of trash I've played over the last few years. I've never seen a game try so hard to stop you staying immersed and just let you actually get on with playing. How can anyone not be infuriated at having to constantly stop mid-shootout, to swap out ammo types? As soon as I sprayed a a half dozen armour piercing rounds into a shit enemy and they laughed it off because their only weakness was (for the love of fuck) shit bullets I was done. Because the 50% of my playing time that I'd spent in menus and at crafting tables beforehand just wasn't enough BS to wade through.

  12. https://www.tmz.com/2023/12/18/max-payne-star-james-mccaffrey-dead-dies-cancer/

Fuck. One of the most iconic voices in gaming. There aren't many media properties that I love that I wouldn't like to see return, but his portrayal of Max in 3 was so perfect that I couldn't bear seeing the character go through more shit again. Was looking forward to hearing him kind of reprise the role in Alan Wake 2, it's going to be sad now. I'm not overly familiar with his normal acting career but I liked him (and nearly everyone else involved) in Rescue Me. RIP.

  13. I lost interest when it moved onto the insults part on, but there's some gems in those first few minutes that I've never noticed before. "It's Michael Jackson!", "KEVIN NASH!", "He's got a great point, Sting" and the fan correcting the other fan on if they liked the Miz or not all got me.
