  1. Just watched it.

Goldberg looks great, until he moves and then he's got a fragile, awkward, clumsiness to him.

Taker is physically held together with gaffer tape these days and needs someone who'll 'jump' for him on the lifts.

It was always a bad idea but money talks

Goldbergs obviously still doing that stupid 'headbutt' something hard pre match ritual which is a hangup from his American football days. That stupidity has probably given him more  brain injury then any match he's had

It was fascinating for all the wrong reasons due to exposing boths limitations. Factor in Goldberg braining himself, and they both almost killing each other with their finishers and you just had much watch viewing.

Either against someone who'll bounce around for them and they can still 'go' but it really needs careful thought.

Of the 2 Goldberg has more left, u just need spear and jackhammer....done type squashes.

  2. I'll have to rewatch her shoot, first time round it did my nut in coz of her parrot not shutting up.

Sherri = best female manager and female wrestler ever for me.

The nuclear heat she could get with the crowd was amazing and when a valet she sold every move on her like she had no training and was an actual valet (not a worker if you get my drift)

Watch any of her 80s awa or wwf work she's so believable as a vicious evil ***t of a woman, the facial expressions, everything. Superlative worker and super believable.

    Apologies for going off topic.

I dont think Sherri had to put up with any shit in the WWF. Wrestlers have this weird loyalty to people who pay their dues, and she had done that prior to getting into the WWF. Ted Dibiase tells a story about her getting slapped around and treated like dog shit when she trained, and nobody messed with her after that. Guys like Hogan, Flair and Savage were very protective of her (rumour has it she was Hogan's road wife at one point) So I doubt she was getting any shit of the likes of Marty Jannetty or Jim Powers. She was a big star from 89 onwards.

There's one story I do recall from around 94. Madusa had just signed and someone shit in her bag for no reason. Just to be a cunt, really. And she completely no sold it and went about her business. Nobody messed with her after that. Wrestling is so fucking odd. Sunny for example sold every bit of bullying they gave her, so it continued. Its a mean spirited business, but one that has its own logic.

Never heard that story Ian on the training bit or her and Hogan having a thing please elaborate

  4. Doesn't it go that pretty much other than his rafter appearances that Sting was pretty much AWOL. Lost weight, didn't train, didn't tan, had an 'issue' of some sort and was pretty much disconnected from the whole scene etc and this didn't become apparent to either the day of or day before starcade??

    Maybe Hogan thought:

"we've given this guy 12 months buildup, this is the biggest moment in WCW history, and one of the biggest wrestling matches ever in which I'm doing the 'job' and he's taken the piss'

     Ergo Hogan fucks Sting.

Hogan at this point didn't job did he let alone at something so BIG (think Warrior was the last time 7 years earlier).

There been loads hinted at by Bischoff but nothing ever concrete.

It was a monumental let down wasn't it.  It should have been in a cage or something.

Saying that post 97  WCW was such a clusterfuck despite an unparalled roster that God knows what was really happening.

  5. I do wonder what level of evil it will take to bring down the WWE if there even exists that type of level

    Steroids

    Drugs

    Drink spiking

    Destruction of property

    Deaths

    Murders

    Racism

    Beatings

    Deviancy

    Potential date rape

    Sexual abuse/assault

Death at an event (Owen Hart)

And now full on drug induced rape

All of it has occurred to levels well never truly know and yet the WWE seems to be immune to stuff which would have killed any other company by now.

Incredibly it all gets swept aside with 5 words:

    "that's just the wrestling business"

It doesn't cut it for me as an excuse for the above.

I know this is a wrestling forum however the more I discover the more ashamed I am to say I'm a fan!

  6. Call me what you will but I had to stop reading.

Honestly is every c**t in that company evil?

How they're still in business is beyond me?

Quite honestly i think the wwe & wrestling in general has had its day now and I'd be happy to see the wwe die off and be punished for what literally are criminal offences and illegal working practices

  7. Tbh, it has always been an utterly twisted and perverted industry.

When the companys own owner on his own career dvd openly states that he wanted to do an angle whereby he gets his own daughter up the Duff or her brother does there's something terribly wrong isnt there(still can't believe they included that) ??

Given what wrestlers have willingly opened upped to on interviews and what has been booked, one can only wonder what depraved acts of deviation are to taboo to open up about.

Probably some real ted bundy type shit

  8. Do we even know what shape Goldberg is in? It took alot for him to get back somewhere near where he was 3 years ago, and he was fragile then hence the way he was (admitedly brilliantly) booked. Add another 3 years too that and I'm not confident in him being able to do anything other than a squash and I can't for the life of me seeing him jackhammer taker (in takers condition)

  9. Most remember him from Wm 1-6 when he was physically fucked.

If you watch the film on him you can see that in the 70s and very very early 80s he could move and work

Guys andres size back then with his look were a rarity from a visibility standpoint, u just didn't see it everyday.

In an era where everyone was gassed monsters he's was an even bigger one which made him unique.

There is always rose tinted spectacles for nostalgia however the reality is that we've all been oversaturated with product exposure, insider detail and sheer volume of TV hours. It means we see it with different eyes than people did back then.

Back in those days people thought it was legit and it had genuine mystique. I can imagine being 10 at an arena and seeing Andre was terrifying. Same as I can imagine seeing hogan was probably like seeing a legit superhero in real life.

  10. I always find it mad that even injuries and tragedy aside that someone like Bret (whom I genuinely believe to be one one of the finest workers ever) has seemingly aged a fuck-ton (considering he never looked his age) since he retired almost 20 years ago whereas Hogan with all back surgeries, controversy and divorces has barely changed since about 1999 and last wrestled 5 years ago.

It's also mad to me that there's only 4 years difference and yet in 1993/94 Hogan was considered the past and 'done' and Bret the future.

Hell jake Roberts is only 2 years older and was considered over in 93 when Hart started getting his 'mega' push.

It does make me think that it's all in the genes when you consider that collossal cainers like flair, hall and roberts are still going 60-70 and the likes of warrior who got out the biz aged 37 and go in it late aged 26 pegged out early 50s
