I dont recall him ever commenting.
It's obviously alot and he did get popped a few times for it, it was around the time that various fighters were pissing 1000x the natural levels and blowing the twat shit up!
-
Angle looks well.
He's suffered some bizaare nerve based atrophy in his arms hasn't , causing his. Muscles to look weird.
Kinda reminds me of warrior in 08 when he made that Spanish comeback and you could see the torn triceps and biceps had taken a massive toll on his arms

The Slice fight was odd. Had him in a rear naked choke but you can blatantly see he doesn't lock it in and then takes a shot and it ls over.
That 3rd Gracie fight was very strange!
The bout lasts seconds, they go to clinch and Gracie blatantly kicks him in the nuts. Shamrock obviously grabs his bits in pain and then Gracie dives on him to finish him off. Should have been a DQ!
Always surprised he never did go back to Wwe, however I imagine since he's was still gassed to the hilt or wasn't an option.
-
As a side note I find it incredible that he was 26-28 during his late 80s run.
Mad he seemed to have been about forever and washed up. By 1999 when he was mid 30s.
It's mad back then mid-late 30s was ancient. Nowadays some wrestlera dont mkae wwf till then!

Soz Rick
Here Barbs
Fuck beast of a man
Fantastic look
One of my faves from that era
-
The Rock after he left Wwe went
To
To
Clearly creatine works.
Do think that it can't be good for him at nearly 50 to keep getting bigger!
Guy looks like he's going to explode!
-
Just look at these 2 bastards:
Amazing these 2 couldn't even bag a wwf title run in the 80s
Wwe would sell their first born for 2 monstrous fuckers who could worknlike these 2 to drop in their lap.

Funny thing for me about Hogan was that, because I came to American wrestling comparatively late (we first got cable in 1991/2), seeing his face prior to that period, I'm a little surprised he didn't get the "second Ultimate Warrior" treatment, because he looked so different to how he did when I started watching. The Hogan that faced Sid at WM8 had a long, Basset hound-type face, and the one from the 80s had something about his face that looked round and like it was going to explode.
EDIT: Looking back, obviously he's not that different so as to look like a different person, but there was definitely a lengthening and thinning of the face.
Hi CB
He was coming off the gas and losing the dianabol/test bloat.
Amazong when you think in 91 he was about 38.

That's the old style Wwf belt as well isn't it before the (best) winged Eagle one.
Can someone please tell me how he's only 32/33 here at most?
Also not sure if it's Hogan 'BS' but didn't he say he looked at old carnie pics and noticed they were always red/yellow so as to attract maximum attention and that's why he choose it.
I remember reading something years ago and the science and biology and psychology behind it backs it up

Very interesting Rick.
Warrior should of been kept off of the media and PR side of TV to preserve the 'mystique' like Taker was all those years.
Hogan was and will always be 'wrestling to me'
He's also the ultimate PR and media schmoozer.
People who've never watched wrestling know who he is and what colours he wears and what he looks like.
U can see why they kept with him and going back to him.
Savage was too intense
Warrior too insane
Hogan was a fucking media darling back then.
On that note the greatest ring shape and look has to be
Iconic. Doesn't do it justice!
-
Agreed!
This is my fave Warrior o e:
Fucking everything I want a wrestler to be. A Huge, spectacle that you don't see walking down the street everyday.
Look at him here, Warrior never looked better. Massive, ripped, epic tan, that colour scheme.
Guy just looks the business. This is what I miss in wrestling these days.
Looks like a living Marvel character.
-
Yeah, how dare he be accused of usage in a business where everyone and their dog (at the time) was majorly on the gas.
As a lifter for over 25 years I can give assurance that no one is achieving that look without a cocktail of Deca, dianbol, Test and some Winstrol thrown in to dry it all out.
WCW back the was basically a cauldron of gear, blow and strippers wasn't it.
To be fair it resulted in everyone looking Jacked. Hence why Savage who was about 50 suddenly was able to gain aload of bulk and gave us arguably his best look:
Even ol Sandman in Wcw said he got on the shit hence why he looked amazing (for him) ipon his Ecw return:
Couldnt find a great pic but if you watch his Ecw return vid he looks jacked!
That's his best look by a mile looked utterly badass

Eddie G was in incredible shape as a wiry cruiserweight. Incredible athleticism, sleazy look and ripped. Had a great transformation in 2004 but obviously that's sad in hindsight.
Luger was always in good shape but in 1997, he was as over as anyone has been and was looking and moving great.
Scotty Steiner after he turned in 1998 and changed his barnet was an absolute machine. Unlike a couple of years later, he could still move too.
That's the best Steiner ever looked and quit possibly the best physique any wrestler has ever rocked.!

L: lex luger
U: ultimate warrior
K: Kenta Kobashi
E: El Matador Tito Santana

Gonna get aggro here for Hogan but he will always be my no1 wrestler.
I know he has his faults but in terms of fan friendly has there ever been anyone better.
It may be totally snide but with his fans he always seems to be totally on it and 10000% into them.
For me that's what i want in a 'star' the kinda guy who if you caught him having a shit at 4am would be totally a pro and a nice guya and be who'd you'd want him/her to be.
They always say "never meet your idols" as it will be a disappointment, however with Hogan I think he wouldn't be..
Greatest worker ever in all aspects.
Feel free to cain me for this 'love in' however the reality is I've never seen or heard of a bad fan reaction on Hogan and I think alot of wrestlers nowadays could learn from him.
-
Always wanted to see some like New Jack or JBL etc make a mistake/take a liberty with:
Haku
Ric Steiner (or Scott)
Rude
We saw what happened When Konnan fucked up with Ric and Ric decided to 'discipline' him'
Infact didn't some indie non entity (vordell Walker or something like that) try and fuck with a mid fifties Ric a few years ago on a show to make a name for himself and get battered??

Jesus... You'd have YewTree round in a second these days if you were caught looking like that now 😳😳😳

The Screwjob is like anytime anything happens of note in the west, Al Qaeda take responsibility regardless of actual involvement. Pretty much everyone who was around seems to have claimed "yeah it was me". Hell there's even the "it was a work" element where the implication is it was Brets idea. So many discrepancies and versions of events around what happened now.
I still think Montreal was a work.
Everyone did so well off it
Wwf got fuck loads of attention + abit of wcw unscripted anything can happen edge
Vince born the hated Mr McMahon.... Which they got massive mileage out of.
Bret got to leave with a 'ready made' feud for when he inevitably returned 3 years later.
Bret didnt have to lose the title and got 'screwed' =sympathy and the 'I didn't lose the title angle'
Bret had momentum going into wcw - wcw fucked that not Bret or vince
Bret got a controversial ending fo this dvd (wrestling with shadows)
It was a live ppv and u just don't risk that. If Bret had been a steiner type, gone loopy and butchered michaels right there OK live TV along with anyone who came near him it would possibly have killed wwfs ppv business. People forget ufc was courting mega controversy back then and there was alot of pressure to ban violent ppvs.
It just worked out a little to well for everyone.
Vince and Bret were very very close. They may have worked everyone Inc shawn on it legitimacy. Vince loves working the boys and the hard on he'd have got from that and being able to fit be himself (ala Mr McMahon) would have been rediculous
-
Snap Punk.
Back in them days a finishing move pretty much ended the affair. I'd watch hogan leg drop everyone for the win, jake win everytime with the ddt etc.
I think for me it wasn't that they were lucky its that the end came from nowhere in the match.
Piper vs Bret is an excellent one as well.
Michael's vs razor in their first ladder match is a great one
-
Warrior in wcw deserves a mention!
Go and watch the whole 98 thing. He just seems so not 'wcw' and out of place.
Doesn't help that he was rusty as f**k and wcw didn't 'police' his "ahem" creativity ala wwf.
Warrior in wcw 98 felt like sting in wwf. Neither fit outside their own world
-
Spot on, as soon as Bret was up there I remembered the KOTR against Bigelow and thought "it's over" so was shocked when Owen countered it for the surprise win!
-
Always loved the Bulldog vs Bret finish at SS AND Owens over Bret at WM.
Both come out of nowhere and not telegraphed a mile off.
Another guilty pleasure of mine is Warrior Vs Savage at WM7

Sorry, but he took the Royal Piss out of Sting with the staggering different budgets put into their respective WM entrances (before jobbing him out & patting him on his balding head)...The Cunt.
That he did an dinhate the wwe for wasting the opportunity for sting vs taker.
That said Mr Borden laughed all the way to the bank. A few matches, hof payday, wm payday, a dvd, video game appearances and all the other merch he's coined in on.
Guy had a result 400k a year at tna for about a decade and then when that ends, a quick nip over to wwe at 60 for a major cash out.
Pretty much the ideal way to exit the business!
