  1. I think Eaton wins it.

Didn't he used to bring extra gauze, tape, Laces etc to his matches even till the end of his career incase other wrestlers run out/forgot etc??

Molly Holly is another but didn't have the career and longevity of the above.

Also and seems random but weren't the samu and  fatu known as being darlings??

For me it's Eaton. You could probably fill and hour of YouTube vid of shoot extracts where everyone praises him.

As a footnote, one of the most underated wrestlers ever, did he ever have a bad match?

If anything being as unselfish as he was may have meant less achievements but maybe a lengthier career.

  2. Let's be honest, being removed from your own company, in an industry you believe you created, with the control freak, power hungry, mega ego he has id the worst insult he could have experience.

I can imagine it was like the scene in spiderman when Dafoes Norman Osborn is ousted and he goes nuts.

Gven the nature of the business, and what what went on (in the 80s-90s) and also what he's been allowed to get away with for 3-4 decades I can truly imagine he felt untouchable and he could literally get away with anything (because he and several in the industry have).

I can fully see Vince, all hours of the day/night pacing about and screaming/ranting around his mansion (to himself mainly)  in a crazed furious  state about how unjust it all is!

I think the money he’s made, beaten Wilder thrice (it was three times let’s be fair), outboxed a prime Klitschko, knocked out Whyte, outbrawled Chisora, pretty much respected everywhere as the finest Heavyweight champ since Lewis, that’s an ok Prime isn’t it?

I mean if you want to talk about pissing things away, just watch Supertape 92 with Jake Roberts and pay him two hundred notes for the privilege.

    Stop b***g a fucking benny.

A 'benny' nice to know an opinion is warranting of abuse,  isn't this a forum?

Also love the way an error of judgement 20 years ago and told for amusement seems to form the the basis of judgement on everything I've done?  Strange.

Anyway that legacy you speak of is piss poor.

Wlad: was 37, coming off several injuries, had marital issues at home, even then it was arguably a draw.

Wilder: is a terrible titleist with a poor resume and only has his right hand! -  also by turning up in fight 3 in shit shape did he need to take all those unnecessary head shots?

Whyte: really????  Hes an awful lumberer,  whom an ancient Sasha sparked.

Wallin: cut him and did far better than he should have (and he's a mediocre euro fighter).

An athletes career is a short one, and given boxing is a legacy sport,  wasting yours 20s Is foolish.

If your the Goat,  prove it.....like every other legit legend in the sport has.

Also if we are going to compare Fury to Lewis,  yes there were a few fights out there against fighters whom were passed prime or not great however he still beat:

Ruddock,  golota, rahman,  vitali,  tua,  morrison,  mercer

All of whom were peak,  feared or legit contenders

Then you have holyfield (whom was winning titles after),  bruno (would win title after),  akinwande (avoided),  briggs (would win a title after),  Grant (highly regarded at time).

Haven't Inc tyson as he was a shell, or the mccall win,  tucker etc

If you can't see that's superior to fury,  then there's no hope for you

The thing that grates me is fighters don't fight anymore.

It's once a year.  Hell dan Severn even said inactivity causes injury  as your not used to the blows (and he had what 100+ Mma bouts into his 50s)

A fighter should barring injury be able. To do 3-4 times a year.  Now even the contenders want to sit on a no1 ranking for a year.

Honestly the fighters don't want to fight anymore.

What was eubank snr sky deal in the 90s?  10m for 8 fights in 1 calendar year??

Fury has fought what 11x in 9 years and pissed away his whole 20s and prime.

Its why I like ufc to be fair.  Dana is running,  what 50+ shows a year... Most of  the card good-great quality and value for money. Nowadays a boxing ppv is the main event and the rest shite (look at the 90s. Each ppv was stacked with 3-4 title fights)

I'm an admitted nostalgia junkie,  but boxing nowadays is fucked.  You don't need 6 months to build a fight.  Put a good fight on and people will buy it..... We don't need 4 months to decide!

Also as a final note.  We have seen what usyk has done to AJ twice and Usyk is not a puncher.  Can we stop and think what Mike Tyson in his prime would have done?

    Tyson ko 1-3 max!

Hell I think 1970s foreman murders him!

  5. After the Zhang robbery,  I thought the fix would be in and siad to the Mrs before the decision bet we get 115-113 AJ, and then when he got the first nod I thought that was it (that judge has a history of this and should be disqualified from acting as a judge).

AJ for me really stepped it up and he won me over (until he spoilt it post fight).  He did give it every thing but still  clearly lost widely. The problem AJ faced in Usyk is that 90% of heavies these days are big, with reasonably low output and generally fight measured.

Usyk fights at a pace and movement AJ can't live with and has a gas tank that enables him to up the ante (like calzaghe used to)  down the stretch.

    I had it 9-2-1

Even in the 9th Usyk was actually blocking and slopping 90% of the incoming fire, and then he upped it in round 10 back at AJ..

Even if I was the biggest AJ nuthugger I could only make it 8-4 Usyk.

Again though Usyk showed technical excellence,  ring iq,  chin, speed,  timing,  distance... The lot.

Really an exceptional fighter in every aspect.

In 20 fights and (9 title fights)  he's unified cruiser (individually) in his opponent's backyards,  then gone to heavy and won the unified title (opponent's backyard)  against a giant and power puncher (and let's give AJ his due, prior to usyk he was 9-1 in title fights, and avenged his only loss) defended it.

I wish AJ had just said (lost to better man)  and had done with it as he had gained alot of respect for the effort he put in.

His mental breakdown though probably had his sponsors checking their 'exit options'  small print.  Real shame as he basically pissed on his own efforts.

  6. Vince decision to go public with the company so he can call himself a billionaire finally comes back and bites him  20+ years later.

If he hadn't done that he'd only have himself to answer to and all the perversion and fucked up shit could have continued till his deathbed, and been paid off without any reprisal, pretty much like the 20 years that preceded it.

  7. There is a legit moment after lethal suplexes him that I thought he was dead. So glad they didn't do the superplex I think that Would have killed him.

He looks so out of it and as said earlier he looked far better in the Lethal training vids.

Do think he overtrained and also ragging the booze in the days leading up probably did him no favours, he looked fucked before it even started.

In a way I'm glad it was as truly awful as it was, as if it hadn't been I think he may have been tempted to do a retirement 'tour'.

That said I'm still not ruling that out.

  8. I'm really worried that Flair is treating this like his final act, as in life. Don't think he can handle being away from ring, being 'past it' or knokcing on.

Training like a loon, maybe back on the gas, dropping the blood thinners and switching pacemaker off.

He's on record saying he hasn't see a cardiologist in months and what's more he's back on the shant every day again.

It feels like this is his suicide note almost

Anyone else feel that way, have a legit feeling in going to wake up Monday, check the forum and its going to be Ric Flair rip!!!

Sick thing is I think he'd want it that way!

  9. The worrying thing is that this whole saga was discussed at length in the Mcmahon dvd, with all the McMahons chipping in.

Steph was sitting their saying "i didn't want to snog my  dad or brother etc and pretend i was in love with him"  and Vince is sat their with a big shiteating grin.

The fact that horrific concept was even aloud to reach public knowledge, let alone be a segment on the dvd shows how detached from reality, morales, good taste and whatever else old Vince is!

  10. The insane thing is if you dye nashs hair and beard  black, and trim it down he's Barely aged since 95.

Now either he has supreme genetics or he didn't cain it half as much as his comrades.

I love me some Nash shoot interview, however part of me thinks, was he smart enough to sidestep the higher level cainage but still stay in the game and thats how he's still about, lucid, healthy and financially affluent??

Is he the smartest one of all??

  11. Let's be honest Sytch had a 2 year period where she was a star in the mid 00s and literally for nearly 25 years after its been an epic series of horrendous events.

I was 17 when she was at her peak, I'm now nearly 42. Thats a long period of 'life' in general.

I guess it's as reported earlier, she was massive star young and then it went when she was young and she's spent her entire late 20s, 30s and 40s self imploding as a result.

Would we even hear about this if she was just some hick imploder?? Probably not there's a million of them out there sadly.

The only reason we are even paying it attention is because a portion of this board are old enough to remember her prime and are interested.

To the modern fan it's probably doesn't even get a second glance.

Quite, It's normally about £200 an hour to watch Supertape 92.

Difference is I was 20 yrs old looking to get into the business and thinking I was going to get training from a wwf legend.(Hindsight is always 20/20 and I'm not at 41 the inexperienced man I was at 20... Who is)

Not a 60 Yr old man (and exceptional pro wrestler) whose spent the last 20 years calling my ex bosses family every cunt under the sun in every media forum possible.

  13. Everybody has a price in wrestling.

Integrity does come a massive second behind the mighty dollar doesn't it, and i mean both ways.

If vince can get a done from selling you he will truly forgive anything won't he. I mean steiner has said some terrible things publicly about vince, steph, HHH etc hasnt he??

Guess with his health issues, like warrior steiner has suddenly decided to cash out and make peace for those royalty cheques and health benefits.

On one hand its financially smart. On the other hand, what does it say about someone who'll call someone and there family cunts for the best part of 20 years and then happily accept there money???

It's one of the unique things about the wrestling business. The parameters of Real life and its morals just don't seem to apply.

  14. Tbh, my recollection is probably revisionist brought on by rose tinted specs.

You are right, and thinking about the subject I agree. Every mag for what seemed years has a "Scott fucked up again" story.

I remember him featuring in footage of the smackdown game at the time (along with warrior) and then him getting pulled (along with warrior... Replaced by x-pac), which was a gutter!!

If. You think about it between 1998/99 when he was still capable to his tna run was what 12 years (the majority lost)

Those golden razor!/hall years were incredibly only about 5 (3 as razor, 2 as himself) before the milk curdled!!

If you just look at the razor period it's only 3 years. Incredible it made such a mark on the industry and our memories as fans that it in effect bought him foregiveness and fondness for about 25 years!

  15.  I do sometimes wonder what would have happened had Hall after WCW let him go in 2000 returned under the Razor gimmick?

I do remember WOW or POW, or whatever mag speculating  on this.

He still looked the part physically. Had he been able to stay straight (big If... But he would have been surrounded by 'apparently' clean living HHH and Michael's and not in the WCW cauldron of poison) where would he have fit?

Razor vs the roster 2000-2002 would have been quite interesting!

Guy always looked the bollocks and in my mind what I always wanted a wrestler to be/look like (different than 99% of those walking down the street)

God i miss  those days, when everyone had a different look, moveset and interview style.
