Oh my god?
Â
Best Mab post I've ever seen.
Â
Don't judge me.
Â
Anyway. Awards. Dolt. Yes.
-
I don't remember what I was reading last time I posted here, but currently it's World Without End by Ken Follett. I read Pillars Of The Earth a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it. I'm only about 200 pages in to the follow-up at the moment, but so far, it's just as good.
Â
For anyone in here looking for recommendations, I couldn't rave about Pillars... enough. It's an outstanding book.
-
I really wanted to say Jesse Ventura as guest host or Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania 25, but I HAVE to go with The Rock. That promo was the most bittersweet thing I have seen in wrestling for a long time.
Â
For those who actually need a reminder, here it is:

Â
After watching that, I want to change my vote to The Rock. Oh well...
-
I assume people nominated Mark Henry out of habit? He's been the best he's ever been the past couple of years.
Â
I voted Shane McMahon, not because he's the least capable, but because he killed what could, would and should have been a huge deal in Randy Orton, which technically makes him 'worse' than someone who's just not any good like Ortiz or Deaner.

Hulk Hogan receives an extended standing ovation on SmackDown, May 2002 (this one sticks in my mind, probably due to the great editing job they did, with little tricks like going to an ad break, then coming back and the ovation was still going on)
I wouldnt call that a trick. It was all legit. The reason they went to break, is because Hogan aloud the crowd to continue for about 15 minutes, and the reason they went to an ad break (since it's a taped show) is to give them a legit point to cut out all the cheering and Hogan standing there doing nothing. At the time it was joked that Hogan's crowd reactions were longer than his matches.
Â
If I had to choose one overall I might pick the TNA one...Your greatest moment of the last 10 years was a jobber doing a spot that made no sense and almost botching it?
Â
Nay, not really. That'd be silly.
Â
Can't seem to edit my post so here's another one:
Â
The Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe headbutt, Impact, 2006. It was cool.
-
Can we call 'Lunchtime Suicide' with Tim White an event? I've just remembered it and feel that it can't be left out of our collective memories of the decade.
-
Long lists are fun. Only included WWE here but there's one TNA one right at the end.
Â

Â
Â
The most standout moment for TNA is probably Elix Skipper walking the cage at Turning Point 2004.
Â
If I had to choose one overall I might pick the TNA one...
Â
EDIT: Ah, I can edit again. So yeah, in addition to the Joe/Angle headbutt, there's Eddie Guerrero's heel turn from May 2005 and the first Mayweather/Big Show confrontation at No Way Out 2008. Both were outstanding.

I'll throw Mr. Kennedy in for consideration, though his is more a case of "wasted opportunity" than outright worst.
Â
Also, Cody Deaner.
Â
Oh, and Ricky Ortiz - was he this year?
-
Another one for Taker/Michaels here.
-
WrestleMania X-Seven
ROH Supercard of Honor
Survivor Series 2002
NOAH Destiny
FWA British Uprising
International Showdown
Summerslam 2002
-
Beer Money Inc
British Invasion
Jerishow (I'd say Edge and Jericho but they weren't really around long enough for that)
-
-
CM Punk
Randy Orton (up until February, anyway)
-
Rockstar Spud
Â
same for me.
-
Steamboat.
CM Punk's heel turn.
The warm fuzzy feeling at the end of Michaels/Taker where you knew you'd just witnessed a classic.
-
Chris Jericho.
Scott Steiner (genuinely - he's been one of the few consistent highlights of TNA this year)
-
Jeff Hardy
-
Edge
Shawn Michaels
Â
I'd also like to mention John Cena, Randy Orton and Batista, because over the course of the decade they've gone from being nobodies to being the biggest stars in the industry, which is quite impressive.
Â
Oh, Kenta Kobashi as well.
-
I've really been enjoying Miranda on BBC2 recently. Best new British sitcom I've seen in some time.
-
Number 4 was my favourite. But brilliant stuff all round, once again, just the thing to lighten up my mind after a 15 hour work day
-
7th Anniversary Show, 21/3/09
Â
Â
Nigel McGuinness vs. KENTA
-

My vote may say The Waterboy, but it's really for his work colleague.
