  1. I do think that two men (having sex) "and i use that term lightly" is disgusting - I wont apologise for that, I have no idea how the entire nation went from thinking on exactly the same lines as me to suddenly excepting it over the last 20 years

Indeed, sir! And when did these fellows with different coloured skin suddenly become equals? And women? Women! In society, conversing with real people! And the filthy laity, allowed to operate with the same rights as noble, landowning folk like us! It's disgraceful.
  2. Kaufman didn't draw. Crowds actually fell during his appearances. That's actually true for about 90% of the artistically classic Memphis angles such as the empty arena match and Gilbert running over Lawler.

Isn't the lack of crowds kind of the point of an Empty Arena match?... just saying.
  3. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=331CUBTo3v4&...ted&search=Tehehe. :p And could someone please try and explain what the hell it is that Pac does at about the 1:47 mark;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hi9kyj3hqPg...ted&search=

After several watches ... I think it might be a corkscrew shooting star 450 ... but I don't think my mind can fully comprehend such moves. Mint.EDIT: Beaten to it. But I retain my "Mint". 'Cause it is.
  4. The Age of the Fall debut sounded very very cool indeed.ROH does seem to be getting a little inundated with factions, though. Hope it's going somewhere as it seems a little random to suddenly have everyone affiliated with a group.

  5. Foo Fighters - Erase ReplaceFoo Fighters - Cheer Up Boys, Your Makeup Is RunningFoo Fighters - StatuesFoo Fighters - But HonestlyTo be honest, there's far too much slow stuff on this album. I think I'll wait and see if the album grows on me before I consider buying it. The songs I have posted are my highlights so far. Apart from 'The Pretender' that has been posted. My personal favourite of them four is 'But Honestly'.I'll post tasters of the new Fightstar album later on.

I thank you greatly... but how? The album's not out until the 24th I thought?
  6. Merci for Yellow.Canada's got a long way to go on the Springsteen front, but they've got a TONNE of great artists at the moment who are doing there own thing, Montreal is absolutely buzzing currently, and even Arcade Fire take elements of The Boss. I think I've got a cover of them doing a Springsteen tune (yep, I've got them doing State Trooper, which I think is from Nebraska).

It is indeed from Nebraska - probably my favourite Springsteen album. I'd be interested to hear Arcade Fire's version.
  7. I've got her version of 'Yellow' by Coldplay if anyone wants it.

Thanks for Don't Stop Believin', as a Journey superfan it interests me greatly.

Anyway, here's a couple of songs from the Canadian Springsteen, a guy called Bruce Cockburn (it's pronounced Co-burn). He has an absolutely phenomenal gift for writing lyrics, and these two in particular are stunning. These two songs blow every other "anti-[something]" song I've ever heard right out of the water. Bruce hits pretty hard and pulls no punches when he's attacking something. He's also a pretty good guitarist.

  8. Does Andy Quildan post on here? I just logged on to Youtube for the first time in an age and had a message from him asking if he could include a music video I made on the FWA/IPW Final Frontiers DVD. I've basically lost that opportunity now (buggering hell! Stupid stupid. I am annoyed at me.) but I'm trying to contact him in as many ways as possible just on the off chance that I haven't.

  9. Derek & The Dominos - Have You Ever Loved A Woman? - The subject matter is worn on the sleeve here. It's a pretty standard 12-bar-blues which turns into a jam sesh when played live, and while the lyrics may not be particularly subtle or deep (particularly if you're aware of the situation with Eric Clapton, George Harrison and George's wife), but emotionally speaking it's pretty damned authentic. You can really feel the pain in Clapton's voice. If anyone has been through something similar to this, you'll certainly be nodding your head along in identification.
  10. Right! I've finally got my appetite for ROH back and I've decided that come the next Buy 3 Get one Free offer I'm going to try to catch up.The last show I watched was Final Battle 2006 so I've got the best part of 2007 to cover. The fifth year festival doesn't look as unmissable as the Milestone series the year before so I was thinking of getting the first two shows and the last two shows (the UK ones) and skipping the ones in the middle. Then I was gonna get the All Star Extravaganza III, Supercard of Honor II(SUCH a lame name for a show) and then I'm a bit stuck. This Means War II looks missable but I think I'll get Fighting Spirit. I think I could posisbly miss Battle of St Paul and go straight to Good Times Great Memories. Is there anyone whos further ahead with their watching who can let me know if i'd be missing anything worthwhile (or buying something thats not 'must see').Cheers

That's not a bad selection of shows at all there. You might want to look at changing the Philly show from the Fifth Year Festival for the Chicago one, but it depends on your exact view of the line-ups. Definitely buy the UK and Detroit shows. All the April shows are pretty good, but in terms of storylines the two you have chosen are the most important of the four, and GTGM is an awesome show. After that, you'll be needing the Respect is Earned PPV show which comes on a two-disc set, though I haven't seen that far forward yet, I bought Reborn Again, Respect is Earned, A Fight at the Roxbury, Domination and the shows from Japan when I was at the show in Manhattan last weekend.
Very nice how you just casually slipped that bit of information in. How was the show live?
  11. Certainly shall.I love Postal Service and think Give Up is an exceptional album with so many great tunes on it, here's a selection...The Postal Service - Such Great HeightsThe Postal Service - Sleeping InThe Postal Service - We Will Become Silhouettesalso as a bonus treat here's a couple of covers...Iron and Wine - Such Great HeightsThe Shins - We Will Become Silhouettes

And there was me thinking the Postal Service's version was a cover of Iron & Wine!Seeing as the last songs I posted here went down so well (ehem) here are some from the, let's say, New Faces Of Classic Rock collectionThe Answer - Under The Sky (iTunes required)The Answer - Memphis Water (iTunes required)The Answer - Preachin' (iTunes required)Black Stone Cherry - Hell And High WaterBlack Stone Cherry - Rollin' On (iTunes required)Rose Hill Drive - The Guru (iTunes required)Rose Hill Drive - Man On Fire (iTunes required)
  12. Caged Rage (August 24th show) is definitely going on my To Buy As Soon As I Can list now that it has Pac vs. Danielson. That will be one HELL of a match. Not sure how Pac vs. Davey will go - maybe Pac's going into some sort of thing with the NRC, since he did face Roderick in his debut and all.

  13. Great thread you chaps have going here. Despite posting on the TWC forums for three or four years, this is only my third post on UKFF ... so I'm attempting to get a couple of people to like me by posting a buggerload of cool songs. Hope you like them.

I'll start off with my current favourite cover version that isn't Rodrigo y Gabriela's take on 'Wish You Were Here' (which I've been unable to find anywhere, sad face). It is, in fact, Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean, which I think showcases his staggering voice very well indeed. iTunes required though I'm afraid. Here it is live and unplugged. Cornell's the best rock vocalist around today in my view.

Next, a band most of you may not have heard of. They're called Jump, Little Children and they're amazing. Some of my favourites by them are -

By The Way They Dance - part 1 of a hopefully several-part series of songs that I think perfectly and impeccably show real, true love. The type of thing where you listen and think to yourself "YES. THIS is IT." This song - the lyrics to which I recommend you read while you listen - is based around an incredibly simple image, but describes and evokes it beautifully.

Mexico - more like Jump's usual fare. Great song.

My Guitar - Jump rockin' out. Fun little song once the opening minute of guitar wankery finishes. But that's quite fun too, so it's all good. iTunes required.

Habit - and here they go all intense poetic. This one's a grower. iTunes required.

After that, Brian Wright & The Waco Tragedies, who I saw live on last year's Hotel Caf

  14. Very interesting the way things are going here, Galloway would have been in my top 5 for definite. I can't really judge on the high finishes on these Scottish guys - I half feel outraged that Falcon (who to be honest I hadn't even heard of before reading his bio here) finished ahead of Robbie Brookside, yet on the other hand as I've never seen him I don't know if it's justified - but hopefully they'll start being seen further afield in the year ahead. The high finishes of Bubblegum and Ligero have also been pretty surprising. Ligero not so much as, as it was said a few posts above, he's been pretty much everywhere this year, but Bubblegum ... it's become very clear I mustn't have seen anything near his best work because whenever I've seen matches of his he's always struck me as Spud-lite.My prediction for a Doug/Pac/Stone is still working out thus far, though...
