  1. I hate when they talk about the streak in serious terms.

Like Arn Anderson compAring it to 20 superbowls. Its nothing of the sort.

Undertaker won because WWE booked him to win, the way they go in and out of kayfabe when talking about it with the Undertaker just makes it really silly

  2. Just tried sending a PM to butch but cant so wanted to put this here if any mods can help!

Ive got a new laptop and cant remember my password to log in! Im doing this from my ohone as it stays logged in. I tried the password reset but it looks like its attached to an old email address i dont have access to anymore.

Are you able to help? My new email address is doug.towning@hotmail.co.uk if you can send a passwrd change thing there. Or if you can just reset it for me?

    Thanks!

  3. What's the reason behind the different pops though? Are there more kids at house shows? or just more narky/sad twats at TV? Surely the make up of the crowds can't change that much?

I dunno like, I reckon there are a lot more knobheads at TV. Thing is, with a house show at Liverpool you generally just get people from Liverpool going, or close by and most of them kids who have a good time.

At TV, regardless of where it is you get the smart fans travelling from all over, it's why the football stadium of whatvee city they're in always gets booed. I myself have travelled from Nottingham to the Manchester shows, and the train station was rammed when we got in, so many different accents etc. These are people who probably wouldnt go to a house show so I reckon thats why the crowd reaction changes so much.

  4. Had a great time in Manchester, the closing segment was fantastic. A little annoyed Ric Flair came out and essentially spoiled it before hand, but it was still a great moment to be in the building for.

Eh? How did he spoil it? He just came out to annouce/remind that The Undertaker would be on Smackdown. I myself thought when he came out to say that it must mean Undertaker isnt showing up tonight

  5. Great era of Smackdown!on the network now. From SummerSlam 2002 all the way to Eddie winning the title in 2004. Probably the best 2 years of WWE tv since the attitude era in my opinion. Brilliant time to be a fan.

Hope they add more RAW from 2003 soon. Still cant believe 2000 RAW and SD! arent on the network either yet though

  6. The arena isn't massive? It's the biggest in the country!

Aye, i guess what I mean is there isnt really a bad seat in the house, it doesnt feel as large as the 02 when you're in there, the nosebleed seats in the 02 are a lot worse than the MEN, looks a decent view from wherever in Manchester.

Seats are abit crap for raw but good for smackdown. Thanks Doog exactly what I was looking for. Just a few more quick questions if you dont mind as I've never been out in Manchester before. Will the men serve drinks etc during the show and what time will bars etc in manchester typically close in that area. Printworks seems a good shout, product is dire at the minute but going over the sunday to weds and hoping for a good atmosphere.

What block are you in for RAW?

No worries thats fine. Aye the MEN will be serving drinks during the show, bars will be open as soon as the doors open up until about half hour before the scheduled end of the tapings.

In that area most bars are open late, it's weird because with some of them (Hard Rock Cafe) its advertised at closing at 11 in the week, but I think it must stay open later when theres events on as it was open after RAW last time and that was about midnight I was there. Bierkeller inside Printworks is advertised as open till 'late' as welll, so i guess it depends on demand. In regards to Manchester in general though you will get the late night bars around that area, it's a good city.

Personally I've been to the last few tapings over the past few years and the most I enjoyed over the 2 days was Manchester, so much to do and it's all relatively close together, and always seems a special atmosphere there as well for some reason.

  7. Searched around for a WWE Tour thread but no luck so im sticking it here. Got tickets for Raw and Smackdown in Manchester in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice for attending a first tv taping, get there early etc? Also wondering if theres likely to be any other wrestling/wrestling themed stuff happening in Manchester over the few days. Staying about 15 mins from the MEN. Thanks.

Dont worry about getting there early, doors open at 6 but if you get there then its absolute mayhem of people trying to get in. Best bet would be wait till about half 6ish, the initial crowd will be in, it'll still be busy obviously, but not as much of a crush. Eeveryone sort of gathers round the doors to get in.

RAW will finish around 11, and Smackdown about half 10 usually, so thats worth keeping in mind if you have made any plans etc.

It's decent when the tapings are in Manchester, last time there was wrestling fans everywhere on the Monday aND Tuesday, I can't wait to get back again. As far as I know there isnt really any wrestling related things going on, but there's lots to do in Manchester itself. Not sure if you're a football fan but the football museum is incredible. Spent a good couple hours there last time the tapings were there and probably will be again.

Best place to go pre and post show would be Printworks in the centre ish, cracking little place with loads of bars (bierkeller being my particular favourite). Cole and JBL were in the Hard Rock Cafe after RAW last time as well, so it may be cool to go after the show.

Always a good atmosphere in Manchester at the arena as well, arena isnt massive either so pretty much any seat is a decent view

  8.

Picked the Attitude Era book up the other day for £8 from ASDA.

Pretty good read. Runs through top moments and matches etc. Quite a lot of quotes from JR in it as well and contributions from some wrestlers of the time. Not much in it that you wouldnt already know if you had lived through the era but its goood to bring back some memories and relive it.

Year 2000 gets a lot of love matches wise which is good to see, personally thnik 2000 was the best year in the Attitude Era. At that price would recommend it for anyone who lived through the era who wants to read a bit more about it. Doesnt half make you feel nostalgic.

Would love to live through that era again at the age I am now.

Get a free Austin bottle opener with it as well which is nice!

I quite enjoy the wrestling coffee table book type things they've brought out the last couple of years, but I've not got the attitude era one yet. What size Asda did you get it in? Wondering if any round here might have it. Was it with the usual hardback books?

I got it in one of the superstores so Im not sure if all Asda's will have them. Worth a look though, cracking little book to pass the time now and again. Aye it was with all the usual hardbacks, had quite a few when I went in

  9. Is Austin not going to be on the show now?

I know he's doing the podcast, but he was originally advertised to appear on the actual RAW show as well, been years since Austin showed up on RAW, can never get my head round why. They have him in the arena for these podcasts yet never have him come out.

Considering the amount of cameos literally every other megastar has done over the last few years its crazy not to see Austin at all

  11. Just saw that their going to start having specific on sale dates for tickets at Full Sail now.

Previously they went on sale as soon as the current tapings ended, so all the people who were there would go and get tickets for the next set, meaning its pretty much mostly the same people.

This new way will be set on sale dates so they're thinking/hoping more different people will get to attend than just the regulars. You'll still end up with the majority of regulars I suppose but it might change the atmosphere a bit.

  12. Was Piper v Hogan in late 1996 and early 1997 really as big and sought after match as wcw made it seem on commentary and stuff?

Piper seems to get decent reactions and Hogan plays the concerned loooks well enough, but it doesnt seem a match the fans seem to be clamouring for that much. Piper v Hogan seems a right relic at that point of their careers.

  13. Arent the ratings still pretty good though, compared to other US Network shows?

Im going off nothing here apart from I thnk I remember someone saying something a while ago that whilst RAW's ratings appear low, certainly compared to other years, it's actually not that bad when compared with other shows on the network etc.

I might be wrong. As said anyway, ratings arent the be all end all now anyway. But it is really boring at the minute, nothing ever really happens.

I'vebeen watching WCW from 1996/1997 Nitro lately, and even though I remember some of the stuff, it's still easy to get caught up in the moment and the anything can happen feel, night and day between what it's like now.
