  1. Ospreay reminds me of AJ Styles when I first saw him. He’s a cracking spectacle but once he calms down a bit and works that slightly more generic main event style I’ll probably enjoy his matches more. He’d probably benefit from being booked as a feature attraction for now.

How much has Francis made for his 2 fights? I've seen a load of people posting Dana laughing gifs and 'send him back to mma' but surely he's made more in a year than he would have his entire UFC career if he resigned (by a looooong way)

He had by his first fight. I read speculation this fight was worth £15m to him which probably comes close to doubling or tripling his entire UFC purse winnings. You’d think that that dirty dirty money will come and change things up sooner or later.

I see the Seth fans are getting ready for his appearance with Rock and Roman tonight.

#NotSethFan but that thought did cross my mind. Then I thought back over the years and realised he’d have to be Keyzer fucking Soze working us this entire time for that to be true.

  4. My 6 year old lad finally showed an interest in watching wrestling so I put two matches on for him. His main reaction to Ospreay and Takeshita was “How!?” and “He’s like a super hero!”. He then talked about how he wants to to be a wrestler and take on the Danger name to pick up entertaining dozens of sports hall dwellers for years to come. Then I put Sting on and I explained what was happening over the emotional intro video. He then proceeded to ball his eyes out and ask why they are hurting an old man to the point that by the end of the match kayfabe was shattered his mum was fuming with me and he’s not sure he wants to ever watch wrestling again. I’ll try Smackdown tomorrow.

Who gives a fuck what a wrestler is paid, as long as it's enough and not a hot dog and glass of orange juice. If Tony is paying Okada that or more, who cares? Same with Mercedes, if they're getting a shit tonne of money, good on them.

Hyper tribalism innit. Can’t have WWE having cleaner books than AEW.

Which company has more announcers though? We need more tribal conflict!!!!

    One Samantha Irving>Infinite AEW announcers*

Yeah, it's the Westworld lad isn't it? I'm sure Amazon want this to be a mainstream hit though.

Yeah, Jonathan Nolan who seemed to have his brothers propensity for making gorgeous looking interesting stories that collapse under the weight of their own bull shit. Still, I stuck with Westworld till the bitter end and if I’m looking for hope it’s that it seems to be approaching it with humour. Plus Walton Goggins.

Hello-oooo, they knew what they were doing showing off Kyle there.

Wish it never looked so good, it’s gonna be extra disappointing when it disappears up its own arse.

I feel sorry for the sherpas at the bottom who will no doubt get covered in whatever the cunt lands on when he jumps off the top.

  10. Imagine one by one the ghosts of Bloodline past come out to even the odds. Jey takes out Jimmy, Sami takes out Solo, Dopey Fucking Rollins peacocks out to take out Diarrhea Poopy Face Dwayne but instead he lays out Cody with a chair. He rips off his fluorescent top hat and tails to reveal a plain normal suit. Corporate Seth is back and he’s best for business. The story continues…..

His WWE run was cack. 1 mania match, 1 Raw match (technically 2 in the same night I guess) and 1 title match with Rollins. He was bought in as a novalty act and a way to flog that years WWE game. The novelty going full force at Mania when it turned into NWO vs DX and look, the teenage me probably wanted that, but not 30 something me.

AEW treated him like a living legend, The Icon. He was protected and used in the right way in my opinion and he clearly loved his time there. TNA did a great job with him for the most part, but WWE never did. Almost as bad a run as Goldberg in 03.

Not only that, they booked him in a slow motion do nothing absolute banger against Hogan. That match was a showcase in how to book people to their strengths.

Then he said something along the lines of “I just couldn’t think of a way to do it safely and I couldn’t do that to Mark. He’s got kids”. As if he doesn’t have four of them himself.

Probably helps knowing at least one of them would be left in safe hands….

They’ve been tag team partners for ages in AEW, haven’t they?

Yeah which presents quite the moral quandary. At least now they can team Darby up with Flair and unmuddy the waters a bit.

  14. It’s great they did so well by him in AEW, even if it was alongside an alleged abuser but he was perfect for that big PPV only specialist attraction spot in WWE. Had WWE booked him half as well as AEW but given him the big time WWE treatment it could have been great.
