I just watched Hostel part 2, well to be accurate about half of it, and I really have no idea how any one could find it in any way entertaining. Much like the Saw films (which some friends dragged me along to a couple of) the hyper realistic element just leaves me cold. I enjoy a good cheesy horror with dodgy effects or something more psychological but the appeal of these films just baffles me.

A really strong contender for the worst movie ever made, on every level. Why do people give money to Eli Roth? His films are nothing but what a 14 year old boy would think was cool. You can almost hear the sound of him noisily masturbating throughout the whole film. There's probably a commentary track of it on the DVD. There's honestly no reason for Eli Roth to exist.

Hostel Part 2 is definitely a contender for worst movie ever made (infact, we should work on such a project, complete with voting, etc), but it's no Elephant, which is no Waking Life, which is without question, the single worst film of all time.

Do it~! Or at least lets have an awesome debate thread. One good thing did come out of Hostel 2. The fact that it compleyely died at the box office when Roth assumed it'd be huge and push him higher up the food chain, and his subsequent tantrum blaming it on internet downloaders who torrented early prints (as if anything could be worse than the theatrical cut) instead of going to see it.Elephant did stink. A worst movies debate would have me typing forever. Eli Roth, all the films of Larry "nonce" Clark, Gummo, What Lies Beneath, McG, Brett cunting Ratner, it must be done.

That reminded me of a thought I had watching it, that the film was basically porn with people getting hacked to pieces replacing the sex. From what I saw the acting was dreadful and the storyline practically nonexistent, it was just someone gets cut up, then they move on to the next set up.

I'd like to do it properly though, like a PM me a list of 10 and we count up the points they score, kinda thing, rather than just a thread of LISTMANIA. You in?

There should be an enormous DEBATE THREAD first, rather than just voting and announcements. No listmania though.

I agree, as long as people can articulate their opinion and it doesn't descend in to listmania, it would be a great topic. Edited by smp

On the subject of Batman villians, I agree with Seven in that Casey Affleck could play a great Joker. I'd actually prefer to see him as The Riddler though (if The Riddler is ever in the franchise). Ben Foster would also be an interesting choice for Riddler, he proved he could play crazy in Alpha Dog and 3:10 To Yuma.

Hate to come along and brownose you a bit here Sev, but I agree with most of what you said and am quite glad someone has come out and pointed the flaws in The Dark Knight (most seem to just tip-toe around the subject). Although I admit that Heath's performance lived up to the hype (yes I do Schizo), I utterly despise those who are saying that it was his film. Aaron Eckhart gives a fantastic showing as Dent and Gary Oldman is perfect as Gordon. I thought Bale was pretty good playing an arrogant yet conflicted Bruce Wayne but WAS a rather sucky Batman. That voice thing, while understandable, made him sound like Darth Vader when his voicebox is on the blink.

EDIT - While we're on the subject of worst films, which of the LOTR trilogy do you think would make the cut?
