Two minutes from my office, just down the road. Horrendous. The roads are only starting to clear now, allowing people to go home. Everyone is understandably shook up.

It depresses me no end that the police have to immediately announce the driver’s race and nationality to try and avoid further incidents. Even worse, it doesn’t appear to have made a difference. I’ve seen a few social posts already where people are saying it’s, “suspicious,” how quickly they announced he was White British.

Shocking end to what’s been all round a great weekend for the city with the parade preceded by the Radio 1 weekender that ended yesterday 

The videos are grim viewing, just can’t understand the logic of the prick a) going up a road that had only just been reopened and still had crowds about and b) not having a shred of patience to allow people to get out the way. He’s incredibly lucky that the police got to him first because that mob would have gave him a deserved kicking

The local paper has turned its comments off on every post about it on Facebook but everywhere from FB to X to TikTok are full of Yaxley Lennon’s followers being deliberately obtuse to police statements and video proof about the guy’s race and nationality and giving zero thoughts to anyone affected which is sadly the way of the land these days

Me and a couple of mates were in Liverpool for the parade. He drove passed us a bit further up the road from where he started running people down. Even there he was agitated, beeping the horn, shouting and swerving. Obviously seconds later he completely lost his shit. Put a dampener on what was a great weekend. So glad to see there were no deaths and that he’s been charged. Has brought out the absolute worst of some of the cunts on X and the like. Did highlight the absolute best of some of the people in Liverpool offering places to stay, lifts etc which was great to see.
