Ospreay vs Omega vs Okada. It's a big "first time ever" (i think

As long as the hype video uses "Oh oh oh it's magic" I'll allow it

I thought Willow beating Mone for the TBS title felt like the logical route, but I’d love to see Hayter defeat Mone to win that title at Forbidden Door. They had a tremendous match, although the same could be said for almost every Mercedes match since she joined AEW, outside of the one with Britt Baker.

It's curious how they'll play this out cos arguably Mone shouldn't lose until a big loss but also combining the womens belts is a real bad idea (unless.. maybe they do that for 6 months to let the inevitable new tag belts breath, AEW has issues with titles getting put on the back burner, someone holding two is better than just "who are the trios champs again?").
I just really think Willow beats Mone for the world title and does it in the first womens match to main event a PPV.  It just works too well, there should be a big crowning moment for Willow as top star in AEW and

  • beats the woman who ended her first title run
  • beats the unbeaten heel
  • beats the mega star
  • first woman to main event an AEW PPV

Feels like it. It's a mild shame AitA wasn't the main event cos you could've done "First woman to be in the main event of an AEW PPV and now the first woman to main event an AEW PPV" thing

Yeah I completely agree with this. Willow surely is the one to beat Mercedes. Wouldn't it be their rubber match too?

As for the TBS, just have vacate it and run a tournament. It's Tony Khan, he loves that stuff. Get it on Jamie Hayter and let her run through some people.

I wonder if Osprey might get Gabe Kidd at All Out, deal with Mox's heater to back up Hangman, sort of thing? Equally, Swerve needs a partner against the Bucks, or they might have decided to run the Elite vs Swerve, Osprey and Omega and if they don't run that at some point soon I'm going to be desperate for it.

I really enjoyed this show and it actually encouraged me to buy a ticket for Forbidden Door.

Jay and Cameron vs. Bayne and Ford was a really solid tag match which I mean as a compliment because I'm not a huge fan of AEW's tag match style.

I don't remember much of the 8 man other than a few iffy moments.

Mone vs. Hayter was great. Loved the finish, whether it was intentional or not. Hope Hayter isn't lost in the shuffle. She's been one of my favourite wrestlers long before she went to AEW.

FTR vs. Garcia and Nigel was a complete mess in places. The moment where Dax shoved Nigel out of the way so that he could accidentally hit his own tag partner was hilarious. A lot of the problems seemed to start with Nigel being out of time or out of place and (having not seen any of his comeback) I actually wondered if he might have found a singles match easier.

The stretcher match was violent and great. The finish felt a little anti climatic but otherwise it was one of the best stretcher matches I've seen.

Hurt Syndicate vs. Sons of Texas happened apparently. I watched it. Can't remember anything of it.

I really enjoyed Okada vs. Speedball. Okada is great at wrestling at fitting any style into a great match.

I don't remember a lot of Storm vs. Mina other than there being some good leg work (ooo er). I never doubted for a second that Storm was winning this though.

Contrary to everyone else I found Anarchy in the Arena to be a bit shit. I know it's meant to be anarchic but I do feel like a lot of the time something has happened before they switch camera to it or they cut away from something and it feels like a match I haven't watched. I know I'm alone in that view and I don't really know what the solution is. I also could have done without Bodies playing in full 3 times but whatever. Not for me.

There was a six man here apparently. Piss break match is definitely the best use of Adam Cole.

The main event was great. I wasn't sure about the different lighting they seemed to use for it but the match itself was cracking and had me a few times with the false finishes. I might try and go back and watch some previous PPVs to see if I can get the highlights of whatever has been happening with Adam Page. Speaking as someone who hasn't watched AEW I'm a while it was interesting seeing how similar this match (particularly the final third) felt to the "WWE main event style" with its finishers, kick outs and table spot. That's not a criticism, just an observation.

I really enjoyed this show but I did have to watch it over 3 days. I'd have maybe cut some matches to do something else.
