There was a WoS match involving Greg Valentine (not that one), where instead of falls it was first to 10 points. A point was scored if any part of the body other than the soles of the feet touched the canvas.

On topic, how about lower the pin count as time ticks on. A count of two scores a pin in the first five minutes and then a count of one after that?

I once pitched an idea for a match similar to that called Killer Kountdown - you have to pin your opponent for 10 or 20 counts (depending on the stip). Every time the ref's hand hits the match, the pinned wrestler loses a count, and, obviously, they lose when they hit zero.

Problem was, in the heady days of mid-2000s BritWres, it wasn't feasible - that kind of match needs a display screen for the crowd to follow, and most promotions didn't have anything like that most of the time.

If you wanted it to be proper Britwres you needed some paper and marker pens or even a chalkboard. Have some trainees hold them up for a sandwich!

Or, as seems to be the case in the majority of situations, you have the "no time limits, there must be a winner match" after you've had your pair of hour-long Broadway finishes, and then the third match inexplicably only goes about 20 minutes.

Ah, the old Tenzan vs Kojima ruse.

Or, knowing my audience better, Joe vs Punk III.

Although the better ruse was that IV would happen.
