Paid Members herbie747 Posted March 1, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted March 1, 2016 He looked bothered because they're slanderous accusations - McGregor is as opposed to PEDs as Bisping is. As is Kavanagh. I can understand him being annoyed. And it's the only thing Nate could think of to mutter. Nate may as well just have called him "gay" for all the originality he seemed to have with his comebacks. McGregor looks more muscly because he's not cutting weight - he just looks healthy - long & lean, as opposed to skinny at 145lbs. Far from a body builder either. Â Being annoyed by a slanderous accusation is hardly any sort of admission of guilt - not sure how anyone could even make that logical leap. Â The point I was making is that Nate for a moment was able to get into Conor's head, showing anger and frustration. Â At no point did I say his anger was an admission of guilt. seanz25
A few of the Grosvenor casino's are doing events for this card btw. I mention as I'm trying to find out info for my local one and can only find info for pretty much anywhere but Southampton Always good fun, normally do 3 drinks for a tenner in vouchers + a free bet to which isn't to bad at all for a night out on a Saturday.

I don't think he "got in his head" at all. He just annoyed him for a second and Conor felt strongly about setting the record straight. There's a difference. Got in his head? Not at all.
Paid Members lambyUK Posted March 1, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted March 1, 2016 We will agree to disagree then. I'm not saying Nate has won some game of mental warfare here, however, Mcgregor at that moment allowed his emotions to boil over. If you go back and see that first moment, all you need to do is watch Conor's eyes after the accusation. He is repulsed by it, and rightly so. But he did lose it for a moment and I think Nate's coach noticed that and it's probably the reason why he's pushing it in the press. The intention will be, as is with Conor's mind games, is to make your opponent do things that they wouldn't normally do.If Nate continues to push, you never know if that may make Conor throw something in anger.Do I actually think it will happen? Highly unlikely, but you never know when it comes to mind games. This steroid talk is the only time I've seen Mcgregor look noticeably frustrated by his opponents words.

Paid Members lambyUK Posted March 1, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted March 1, 2016 I think you're reading too much into it.  This isn't about me reading too much into it Herbie though.  I've already said that as a Mcgregor fan that I don't think it will work. I think Conor goes into his fights completely emotionless.  It's just an observation and a reason why Diaz's coach will be pushing forward with these accusations in hope more than anything for a reaction.

I think Conor goes into his fights completely emotionless.   Just on this ... if you watch the Mendes fight back, does Conor look slightly nervous / anxious at the beginning of the fight? He does to me. Not in a way that suggests he's scared etc, just in a way that suggests his adrenaline is running high. Completely normal in the situation, don't get me wrong, but not something I've noticed in other fights.

In the Mendes fight, he didn't even have time for a haircut beforehand it seemed! May have been stressing a bit about his knee vs a wrestler.     Also - where is the video where Diaz's coach accuses McGregor of using steroids? Can't find it. Thanks. David
In all honesty, if this were any other fighter making a jump from fighting at 145lbs to fighting at 170lbs in less than three months I think the PED question would have come up. Diaz is right to ask the question I think, and saying that McGregor and his coach is against PED use means nothing. There are few fighters who don't take that stance, users or not. Paid Members lambyUK Posted March 1, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted March 1, 2016 Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with the first comment David, I don't think it's correct to say Nate had the right to ask the question.  Mcgregor was originally scheduled to fight at 155llbs, so, as is obvious, is basically cutting little to no weight to fight Nate at Welterweight.  Your standard cut is typically what, 15llbs these days and for a 5ft 9 inch frame, it's probably standard his walk around weight is 160-170llbs. It's just he looked like death at 145llbs.  Ordinarily yes, if this were under normal circumstances, and a fighter jumped 2 weight divisions, with the intention of staying there, you're right, questions would be asked.
