Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 1, 2012 How does libel and defamation law actually work when it comes to the internet? You've got the gay wrestlers thread in on topic and Ebb's celebrity sleaze topic that just got closed over here. But I'm confused. Lets say somebody was to do a 'I heard...' thing about a well known celebrity or whatever on here, who is libel? The person that said it? The mods? Moorish? I'm interested. Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted October 1, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 1, 2012 Just asked my girlfriend who studied law. She says it's the person who posts something false that's detrimental to other people's perception of the subject.
Moderators neil Posted October 1, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2012 It's a pain in the arse, because we get emails from lawyers who crawl the internet for the clients name. Â Plus, the whole "I heard..." thing descends into shit very quickly.
